Las Vegas is an exhilarating city for humans and their canine companion, largely due to the sheer volume of dog-friendly hotels. Dozens of hotels and resorts are ready and willing to cater to your pup, and we’ve rounded up 10 of the best. Our mix-and-match assortment of hotels cover pet-friendly places to stay at different price points.
Since hotels can have varying dog and cat policies, we made sure there’s a little something for every pet parent. (If your traveling companion is a cat, you’ll want to read our review of Motel 6, Best Western, La Quinta Inn, Residence Inn, and Four Seasons.)
You’ll notice that we rate the costs of each hotel with dollar signs that range from $ to $$$$. We offer short explanations for each, but typically $ stays below $150 per night and $$$$ is anything above $500 per night.
Our favorite pet-friendly hotels below are organized based on affordability, from cheapest to most expensive.
Motel 6 at Tropicana
195 East Tropicana Avenue
Las Vegas, NV 89109
While the other budget-friendly hotels are set further away from the strip, this Motel 6 location—welcoming to both dogs and cats—is located right across the street from MGM Grand with several other casinos within walking distance. The hotel is also a short distance away from the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay.
Cost rating: $
Motel 6 is among the cheapest lodging options available in Las Vegas. It has no added resort or pet fees.
Cancellation policy: To cancel a prepaid or guaranteed reservation, guests must cancel by 4 p.m. on the arrival date.
Pet allowances and restrictions
Both cats and dogs are permitted at Motel 6, with no extra fees required. Pets may be of any size, but should not be left in the room unattended. Guests reported a very small pet relief area in the parking lot of the hotel.
Guest perks and restrictions
As Motel 6 is a no-frills, budget hotel option, it doesn’t include any amenities for pets. Its offerings for guests are typical and include:
- free coffee
- outdoor pool
- free WiFi
- coin laundry
- vending machines.
Motel 6 has extremely mixed reviews, which guests should be aware of before they book. Many have said the tradeoff was worth the proximity to the Vegas attractions, while others reported an overall negative experience with service and cleanliness. Book Motel 6
Best Western Plus Las Vegas West
8669 W Sahara Ave.
Las Vegas, NV 89117
While Best Western Plus Casino Royale is the only location in the heart of the Vegas Strip, that location doesn’t accept pets. Your next best pick will be Best Western Plus Las Vegas West, which is tucked away from the strip but in a good location for a wider variety of activities. Take an eight-mile drive away (about 20 minutes) towards the bright lights of the city’s casinos or go in the opposite direction for hiking and biking spots near Mount Charleston.
Cost rating: $-$$
Best Western is well-known for being an affordable hotel chain. Its price point is slightly higher than that of a Motel 6 but more affordable than resorts.
Cancellation policy: If guests need to cancel their reservation, they should do so at least 24 hours ahead of time.
Pet allowances and restrictions
Both cats and dogs are permitted at Best Western, with a small $10 fee per pet per day. The size limit for each animal is 80 pounds, and pets may not be left alone in the room. Previous guests report that while there is a small green area where pets can relieve themselves, it’s very small.
Guest perks and restrictions
Best Western Plus is a 100% smoke-free hotel with a few standard hotel amenities, such as:
- a complimentary breakfast
- heated indoor swimming pool open 24 hours
- fitness center
- laundromat
- free WiFi
There are no separate perks or amenities for pets.
Vacationers looking to stay in the hubbub of Vegas will want to look elsewhere, but Best Western Plus is a solid option for those who don’t mind having to commute to the city’s entertainment offerings in exchange for lower lodging rates and fewer amenities. Something to note: While many enjoyed their previous stay here, a couple of previous guests expressed dissatisfaction with room cleanliness. Book Best Western Plus Las Vegas West
Virgin Hotels Curio Collection by Las Vegas
4455 Paradise Road
Las Vegas, NV 89169
Courtesy of Virgin Hotels
Your furry friend can cozy up in their very own dog bed when you check into Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Located just a few minutes from the Strip, this stylish and modern property has pretty much anything you’d want in a Vegas resort: a casino, pools, a spa, bars, lounges, nightlife venues, and restaurants, including high-end sushi spot Nobu.
Cost rating: $-$$
While Virgin Hotel’s rates vary, based on our research they seem to be one of the most affordable resort options. The least expensive rooms on non-competitive weekday nights clock in just above $100. Prospective customers should note that there’s a $45 resort fee, as well as a pet fee discussed below.
Cancellation policy: Cancellation rules may vary from one Virgin Hotel location to another, but typically guests need to cancel within 24 hours of their reservation to avoid a one-night reservation charge, plus fees.
Pet allowances and restrictions
A maximum of two dogs is permitted in designated Virgin Hotel rooms for a daily fee of $60 per day. Dogs left in rooms unattended must be in a kennel or carrier; if a dog is out of the room with a pet parent, they need to stay away from food and beverage areas, as well as the spa and pool areas. There is a small pet relief area, but guests have reported that it’s a lengthy walk from the hotel.
Guest perks and restrictions
Amenities that come courtesy of the daily resort fee include:
- high speed internet
- 20% discount on spa services
- 15% discount on spa retail
- 2-for-1 drink vouchers at the bar
- a complimentary appetizer with the purchase of two dinner entrées
- a 21+ Beach Club
- swimming pool
- spa
- fitness center
Virgin Hotels offer a few complimentary treats for pups, too: a comfy dog bed, food and water dishes, treats, and a stylish bandana.
For folks looking for a full resort experience at a mid-level rate away from the noise of the Strip, this Virgin Hotel location might be exactly what you want—though some noted the amenity fees were too high for what they received. Book Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Las Vegas Red Rock
9570 W. Sahara Ave
Las Vegas, NV 89117
Set about 10 miles away from the Strip, La Quinta Inn & Suites at Las Vegas Red Rock/Summerlin is an affordable hotel for pet parents looking to balance entertainment and nature exploration with their dog or cat. Staying here offers quick access to golf courses, hiking trails, biking trails, and sports complexes. Red Rock Canyon in particular has a number of hiking trails any active pup would love.
Cost rating: $$
The La Quinta Inn is a middle-of-the-road option for those heading to Sin City. Cheaper than a resort, but more expensive than a budget option like Motel 6.
Cancellation policy: Guests must cancel their reservation at least 24 hours prior to their check-in time or they’ll have to pay a one-night fee.
Pet allowances and restrictions
La Quinta’s pet policy is pretty standard. It allows a maximum of two pets—both dogs and cats are welcome—each up to 75 pounds. The Inn may issue a pet fee at check-in, $25 per night for a maximum of $75 per room per stay.
Pet parents should note that pets aren’t allowed in the breakfast area, fitness center, or pool. You also can’t leave your pet unattended in your room, and when outside the room, they must be leashed or in a pet carrier. While the hotel does have dog relief areas, cat owners should bring a litter box.
Guest perks and restrictions
La Quinta offers several standard amenities for guests, including:
- complimentary breakfast
- outdoor pool and hot tub
- fitness center
- free WiFi
- dry cleaning services
- on-site guest laundry
As a middle-of-the-road hotel, there are no amenities for dogs or cats outside of a small relief area.
La Quinta Red Rock is best for pet parents who aren’t planning to frequent Vegas’ entertainment attractions. Many hotel guests expressed dissatisfaction with the cleanliness and lack of updates to the hotel, along with the small size of the dog relief areas, but the proximity to hiking trails might make this less of a priority for pet parents. Residence Inn Las Vegas Convention Center by Marriot
3225 Paradise Road
Las Vegas, Nevada 89109
The Residence Inn by Marriott is a great option for pet parents looking to travel with either their cat or dog. We wanted to showcase this particular Residence Inn due to its high Google rating and its convenience and proximity to the Las Vegas Convention Center, which is right across the street. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk to the Las Vegas Strip and across the street from a monorail stop. It’s also less than three miles away from the Harry Reid International Airport, for those travelers who prefer to stay near an airport.
Cost rating: $$
The Residence Inn is a middle-of-the-road option for Vegas visitors—not quite as expensive as a resort, but a higher price point than a budget option like Motel 6.
Cancellation policy: Vary by room reservation
Pet allowances and restrictions
The Residence Inn has a no-frills pet policy that’s easy to follow and remember. A maximum of two pets per room are allowed, with each pet not to exceed 65 pounds. Pet parents will also have to pay a non-refundable fee of $100 per stay. Although the hotel doesn’t list any specifics about pet relief areas, former guests have stated that their pets had plenty of grass to use and walk on.
Guest perks and restrictions
There are a few different amenities available to Residence Inn guests, including:
- complimentary breakfast
- onsite restaurant
- hot tub and swimming pool

- convenience store
- free WiFi
There are no amenities for pets, but former guests have expressed satisfaction with the amount of grass and space for pets to use—something missing from many other resorts in the area.
This Marriott location is likely the best fit for a pet parent on a mid-level budget who wants a little grassy space for their pup to roam around on and doesn’t mind being a stone’s throw away from the Vegas action. The hotel has a 4/5 on TripAdvisor, and most recent reviews have been positive. Book The Residence Inn by Marriott

Contemporary rooms are decorated with modern art and include spacious, marble bathrooms.
Cost rating: $$-$$$
The rates at the Cosmopolitan vary greatly depending on the type of room or suite, the time of year, or if inventory is low due to big events in the area, such as a convention or sporting event. It’s possible for a guest to find a room below $200 a night—but these rates don’t include the daily $50 resort fee or the large pet fees described below.
Cancellation policy: Guests must cancel their reservations at least 72 hours before their arrival date or they’ll be charged one night’s room and tax.
Pet allowances and restrictions
The Cosmopolitan’s pet policy allows up to two dogs of any size or breed per room, as long as they’re up to date with all recommended vaccinations. As with most other resorts, dogs are not allowed in restaurants, casino floors and gaming areas, pools, or fitness centers. They may be left on their own in a guest’s room, but they must be crated in a kennel. Dog relief areas are available, and guests have reported that they’re small, but functional.
Guests will be charged a nightly fee of $100 plus tax per dog.
Guest perks and restrictions
In addition to the features and attractions listed above that come with a resort, the Cosmopolitan also offers its guests:
- fitness center access
- in-room WiFi
- tennis and pickleball court access
- digital newspaper and magazine access
The Cosmopolitan also rolls out the amenity red carpet for its canine guests! Upon check-in, each dog will receive a Pupjoy gift box, which includes a toy, all-natural treats, collapsible water bowl, and pee pad. The resort also offers a $10-off rate at Luxe Pet Hotels, a dog-boarding and daycare destination that’s located less than a mile from The Cosmopolitan. Amenities at Luxe include shaded cabanas, splash pads, indoor climate-controlled play area, and outdoor runs.
Pet parents looking for a luxury resort experience right on the Vegas Strip—for both them and their dog—might find exactly what they’re looking for at The Cosmopolitan. The $65-dollar-a-day luxury doggy daycare experience available to guests might be a particular benefit of interest for those looking to keep their furry loved ones occupied while they enjoy the resort entertainment.
A few former guests, however, didn’t feel that the high costs were worth the value of their experience, and reported issues with nightclub noise, maintenance work, and occasional cleanliness problems. Book The Cosmopolitan
Vdara Hotel and Spa
2600 W. Harmon Ave.
Las Vegas, NV 89158
Ideal for those searching for a quieter Las Vegas experience, modern and luxe Vdara is non-smoking and non-gaming, but just steps away from the action for those who want to get a good night’s sleep while staying close to casinos and entertainment. There are no cats allowed at Vdara, but the hotel has special suites designated for guests with dogs.
Cost rating: $$-$$$
The rates at Vdara fluctuate based on room, availability, and season, but they’re typically high. In addition to standard room fees, guests will also have to pay a $50 daily resort fee along with expensive dog fees that are outlined below.
Cancellation policy: Guests must cancel their reservations at least 72 hours before their arrival date.
Pet allowances and restrictions
Vdara allows guests to bring up to two dogs with a maximum combined weight of less than 100 pounds. The pet fees are hefty at Vdara—$150 per night per dog plus tax for standard rooms, and $200 per night per dog plus tax for guests staying in suites. As is the standard, dogs are not allowed in common spaces like food and beverage areas, spas, or pool areas. Dogs must be crated if they are unattended in your room, though guests can also utilize a dog sitter through the Concierge staff.
Guest perks and restrictions
In addition to its luxurious spa, Vdara guests can expect amenities such as:
- swimming pools with cabanas
- fitness center
- in-suite dining
- wireless internet
- digital newspaper and magazine download
- access to Paramount+ with SHOWTIME On Demand via the television in your room.
For its canine guests, Vdara offers a Buddy’s Box filled with treats, toys, and a bandana; however, this isn’t included in the cost of the room and is priced at $29.99. The hotel has a leg up on other hotels in the area when it comes to their dog relief spaces—they offer a fenced-in dog park just steps from the lobby. While some guests have expressed disappointment at the size of the dog park, others have said it’s a large step up from other dog relief areas in the Vegas area.
Vdara seems to be the best fit for pet parents who don’t mind spending a little—or a lot—for a more quiet and calm Vegas experience for both them and their dogs. The hotel is rated a 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor, with just a few comments stating that service can be hit or miss. Book Vdara
Delano
3940 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas, NV 89119
Located on the Vegas Strip, Delano Las Vegas is an all-suite hotel just a few steps away from the 120-acre Mandalay Bay resort and Casino, including Mandalay Bay Beach. Guests can enjoy fine dining, nightlife, beach clubs, spas and more. The hotel is also situated next to the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef Aquarium, as well as plenty of eclectic shops at the Shoppes at Mandalay Bay.
Cost rating: $$-$$$
Prices at Delano fluctuate, but tend to average between $200-$300 per night. This rate doesn’t include taxes, a daily resort fee of $45, or any pet fees.
Cancellation policy: Delano doesn’t list their cancellation policy on their site, but we imagine it’s similar to the policy of the other MGM hotel on our list, Vdara, which requires at least 72 hours’ notice.
Pet allowances and restrictions
As they’re both MGM hotels, the Delano has the same pet policy as Vdara, including pet fees and rules around dogs being left unattended in rooms. Dog relief areas are located just outside the hotel on a small Astroturf area with waste bags. For longer walks, some guests have taken their pups to the grassy areas between Mandalay Bay and Four Seasons Drive.
Guest perks and restrictions
Delano provides the same standard amenities to its guests as its sister hotel, Vdara.
In addition to a full dog menu available, Delano also provides three treats, two toys, and a bandana in a Buddy’s Box for their canine patrons, but their website states that it’s a $40 plus tax charge for hotel guests.
Before booking, guests under the impression that they can take their dog to nearby Mandalay Bay Beach should reconsider—the beach is more of an aquatic playground, and pets aren’t allowed.
Hotel reviews are mostly positive, with cons typically related to excessive costs. Book Delano Las Vegas

Tips to Make Your Las Vegas Stay Better
It’s important to note that hotel prices fluctuate greatly throughout the year. Most of the hotels on our list have calendars that state the going rate for each day throughout the year, so look at them closely. Staying flexible with your vacation dates is the best way to ensure your stay is more affordable.
Keep in mind, however, that the most affordable time of year is typically during the peak of summer. Since the extreme heat is detrimental to both humans and dogs alike, so your second best bet would probably be late fall, when both prices and the weather have cooled down. Just keep an eye on the calendar for any sporting events or conventions that would raise rates.
What to bring for your dog
To make staying in a hotel easier for both you and your pet, make sure to bring familiar items to make them more comfortable like a blanket, toys and treats. You can also expect to need to keep your dog on leash in public spaces, so having their favorite collar, harness and leash at the ready makes it more convenient for everyone.
Whether you want to spend some time in the heat where it isn’t safe for your pup, or gamble on the casino floor where pets aren’t permitted, a pet sitter may be exactly what you need.
While some hotels with concierge services may be able to arrange dog walking or pet sitting, you can also get affordable rates for doggy daycare, dog walking, and drop-in services with Rover pet sitters in Las Vegas.
Dog-Friendly Activities in Vegas
In addition to nearby walking and hiking trails at places like Red Rock Canyon, there are also plenty of dog-friendly Las Vegas restaurants and wide-open parks your pup may love. Want to take them for a walk along the Strip to catch the sights? Pet parents can walk their dog between Sahara Road and Sunset Road from 5 a.m. to noon every day.
