9 Best Dog-Friendly Bars in Seattle, From Dog Parks to Dog Treats

Local Scoops

Bars are as much about social experiences as they are about drinking, so why would you want to leave home without your best (dog) friend? Are dog-friendly bars even a thing?

Luckily, Seattle’s a pretty pet-friendly place, so yes, there are several bars that are as happy to see your doggo as they are to see you.

From special menus to full-sized dog parks to photo walls of regular pet customers, if you’re looking for your new neighborhood hangout, these are the best dog-friendly bars in Seattle.

1. Voff Bark and Brew

9731 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103

For $8, hang out at this “bar made for dog people.” It’s even better than a dog park because dog parks don’t come with a ton of toys to play with (or bevvies for owners to drink).

On a hot summer day, dogs will love to splash in Voff’s dog pools and you’ll love the covered seating area where you can drink over 25 beer, wine, and cider selections on tap.

Just want to hang out? The cover fee doesn’t apply when your dog isn’t in tow. But you’ll have to leave the kids at home, as they’re 21+ only.

2. Norm’s Eatery and Ale House

460 N 36th St, Seattle, WA 98103

A super pet-friendly spot in Fremont, at Norm’s dogs can come inside as long as you abide by a handful of rules listed on their website. You know, the usual: leashing your dog, not letting them eat off your plate, and keeping them from barking (the Health Department set that one!)

And what do your dogs get for their good behavior? A pet menu that includes Bacon Pupcakes, PB & Pumpkin Pretzels and Turkey Nuggets.

3. Backyard

If you love a good backyard party, Columbia City’s Backyard bar is the place you can have one any night of the week—with all the drinks and munchies you could want.

Trivia, drag shows, and karaoke are regular events, and there’s the standard pool table, darts and even a ping pong table for a little friendly competition. Dogs allowed in the covered back patio.

4. Ounces Taproom and Beer Garden

3809 Delridge Way SW Seattle, WA 98106

This West Seattle spot has a big (and partially covered!) outdoor space where pets are welcome. There are 30 different taps on offer, including local beers, ciders and wine. While they don’t serve food, they do have local food trucks scheduled most nights of the week.

5. Slow Boat Tavern

5701 Rainier Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118

When folks call this Hillman City bar a “hole in the wall,” they mean it with deep affection. Slow Boat Tavern is a local’s dream: dark (like the usual weather) with plenty of (good) beer to drink and a friendly neighborhood vibe.

Pets are allowed inside, just don’t let them be tempted by the empty peanut shells thrown on the floor.

6. Beer Star

Did you know DOGS love Beer Star as much as Beer Star loves DOGS??! ? ? ? #dogsofbeerstar #whitecenter #dogfriendlybar #beerstar #welovedogs

Bring your own food to this bar and bottle shop in White Center—easy to do with both a pizza place and a burger joint next door (although they do sell tasty pickles behind the bar). You’re unlikely to ever run out of new brews to try with 45 beers and ciders on tap. They’re happy to have dogs stop in.

7. Chuck’s Hop Shop

656 NW 85th St, Seattle, WA 98117 and 2001 E Union St, Seattle, WA 98122

Bella is really excited about the @cloudburstbrew and @giganticbrewing collab that just came in. Come grab some before she drinks it all. Happy Friday! ? #dogsofinstagram #puppies #hazyipa #pnw #drinkitup #friday #seafair #ithinkthatsenoughhashtags #hashtaghashtag

Chuck’s Hop Shop really loves dogs, as evidenced by the wall of photos of their regular doggie guests. Furry friends are welcome both inside and out.

Chuck’s Hop Shop has two locations, one in Greenwood and one in the Central District, and they offer drinks on tap and from a fridge to take home. Check their website for their lineup of food trucks every week.

8. Ballard Station Public House

2236 NW Market St, Seattle, WA 98107

Looking for a great place to do trivia night or play some hope-you-don’t-have-work-tomorrow bar games? Ballard Station is the place—look no further than their Shot Ski and their in-house dice game “Red, White, Blue” to determine whether you’re getting a shot, a beer or a chaser.

The bar doesn’t serve food (other than popcorn), but if you need to nosh you can bring food from nearby restaurants inside. Pets are welcome on the patio.

9. Dogwood Play Park and Bar

12568 33rd Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125

Haven’t seen this guy in 3 years and I still remember how hard he wags his tail! Love seeing old friends and he loved seeing all the balls ?? #ballstrumpall #pitbullsofinstagram #pittysmile

Located in North Seattle, Dogwood Play Park and Bar is an indoor/outdoor play park for dogs that also serves beer, cider, and wine for humans.

They also are home to the famed Barkery “Treat Bar”, bringing the doggy food truck experience inside for your dog to enjoy.

Current vaccination records are required, and dogs need to be on-leash outside of the fenced off-leash play areas.

They don’t serve food beyond snacks, but visitors are welcome to bring food at their own risk.
