About: I’ve grown up caring for dogs, cats, lizards, and hamsters! Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I truly adore pets of all kinds. Whether they’re energetic, shy, scaly, fluffy, or somewhere in between, I treat every animal like my own best friend. I work remotely, which gives me a very flexible morning schedule and the ability to create my own hours. I love spending as much time as possible with the animals, making sure they feel loved, stay active and engaged through play, and are always safe and well cared for. I live in an apartment complex, so I generally take my dog out every few hours so he can get his exercise, use the bathroom, and enjoy the outdoors. I do the same with those I’m sitting for!

“We can’t say enough great things about Jason and the wonderful care he provided for our energetic 3 year-old pittie. Jason is extremely professional and responsive, and he took excellent care of Leo (and our home) during his stay. He provided frequent updates and pictures, which we really appreciated. We felt all the more comfortable leaving Leo in Jason’s given his medical training and his obvious love of dogs. We look forward to booking with Jason again soon!”

“Mickey took excellent care of my older pup. She kept me well informed and sent lots of pictures. I came home to a happy and healthy pet. I would highly recommend Mickey and will definitely use her again in the future.”

“We hired Ryan to stay at our house while we were on vacation. We have a high maintenance dog and older cat, and I’m a little type A, so I was a teeny bit worried. I did not need to be at all. Ryan was awesome! He kept us updated with photos, asked questions if he wasn’t sure about something and loved our pets! They were both very happy when we got home. In fact, I’m booking Ryan again, in a month, for an overnight stay! Can’t say enough good things, very happy I found him!”

“Jessie was a wonderful sitter. We made sure to meet up before and get a feel for my dogs. I felt comfortable leaving my dogs with her for a few days. Jessie sends tons of pictures so there's never any worry. I'll be sure to use Jessie again.”

“I can't say enough good things about Mary; she was wonderful with my two dogs and two cats while I was out of town. She provided frequent updates, pictures, and followed my instructions carefully. All of my animals loved her, and I will definitely use her services again soon!”

About: I was raised on a small family farm, and have cared for goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, and more while a part of that. As a child and teenager, I trained dogs through my local 4-H program, and later on started petsitting for family friends. I've cared for puppies, senior dogs, cats, chickens, cows, pigs, goats, turtles, geese, canaries, ducks, and so many others, and I'm always willing to learn something new! I work full-time, night shifts during the week and mornings on weekends, but I'm typically only gone 8 hours max, so there's still plenty of time for me to provide plenty of care and attention to the pets! I typically stay overnight, and will either crate the pets if needed, or let them sleep with me, I wake up with them and spend my day hanging out with them, playing or just relaxing. I do my best to care for each pet as their owner would, to help minimize stress.
“Ann was fantastic. Lots of communication, pics, and it was clear she was fully engaged with our dogs. The dogs seemed happy and calm when we got home. We look forward to working with her again.”

About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.
“Bri was communicative and took such good care of our pets (a senior dog, a cat and a fish) while we were away for the weekend. She also took great care of the house and was kind enough to bring in the mail and packages that arrived while we were away. We arrived home to happy pets who were obviously well cared for. I would definitely ask Bri to help us out again. Thank you Bri!”

“Rachel took such great care of our anxious dog who can’t be boarded. She went above and beyond and trimmed his nails when we didn’t have a chance to get them done before our trip.”

“Alyssa went above and beyond! Alyssa was great and was in contact when our one dog had an upset tummy. Took such great care of the boys and had the house looking better than when we left it. Will definitely book with Alyssa again!”

“Rebecca was wonderful! She was communicative and provided pics of the dogs and asked questions as needed. We will absolutely check her availability next time chewy and Iggy need a sitter!”

About: I have worked with medically complex dogs before and have babysit all types of animals including guinea pigs and rats and i also watch fish i would rather work weekends as i am in school and work at my daycare during the week so i would not have adequate time to watch animals during the week I prefer to work out of the house for the animal and have a meetup a few days prior to the actual job and make everything will all work out
“Absolutely amazing dog sitter. We were in a difficult situation with a last minute cancellation and she took amazing care of Jaeger while we were away. She did the basic care and went above and beyond with walking him too. We could tell he was well cared for. Highly recommend.”

About: I've grown up around dogs my entire life! From puppies to senior dogs. I will always do my best to provide your dogs with the best service possible! I am my own boss as an esthetician so I have a very flexible schedule. A typical day for me is working 10-5 which gives me plenty of time with your animals in the morning and afternoon! I am always up for a walk! I love to walk my puppy in town or in my neighborhood and would love to do the same with yours!
“We hired Haley to dog sit our two dogs during our wedding day, and she was absolutely amazing! Our dogs are usually slow to warm up to new people, but they were snuggling with her in no time — which says everything about how calm, kind, and trustworthy she is. Knowing they were safe and happy with her gave us so much peace of mind on such an important day. I would highly recommend Haley to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. She went above and beyond, and we’re so grateful!”

Blakeley pet parents share their Rover experiences
Mickey did a great job with our cat Rocky. She checked in often as we requested and included photos and videos. She also took great care in keeping our bird feeders filled as well as checking on and feeding a stray cat that we've helping. Like us it's obvious that Mickey is a true animal and nature lover. Also, as an overnighter she left our home neat and tidy. She's an ideal sitter for us and now a friend as well.
