Nina is great!!! She was so personable to us and loving to our pets during the meet and greet, it really put me at ease knowing she would be coming to take care of them. Our fairly recent rescue, Lucy, is a standard poodle with some anxiety and Nina put her right at ease. Our cat was very pleased with his new friend as well! Nina will definitely be asked to come back when we plan our next getaway!

We loved Michaela! She took the stress out of leaving our cat for the week. It was our first experience with Rover and we will absolutely be asking her to come back and hang with Kitty when we go away! She was wonderful with updates and making sure our cat and home were always in perfect shape. She is so caring and made sure our cat took her pill morning and night. Thank you for treating Kitty just like your own!

One of the hardest things about having pets is caring for them when we’re not able to. There’s just so much to worry about and too many nuanced details to convey to a house/dog sitter that it’s tough to be at ease. I’ll admit that I’m a little high-strung and using Rover for the first time for this service was not an easy decision. Fast forward to today…Heather is an absolute pro. You immediately get that she’s very experienced and respectful of your unique situation. She asks all the right questions and is an excellent communicator. Honestly could go on and on, but needless to say, we’re super pleased and I think found the high-mark on our very first try. We are already scheduled to see her again this summer and it’ll be the first time that I won’t worry about our dogs or home. Thanks Heather!

Terry is absolutely amazing!! I can’t say enough good things about her and how she went above and beyond in taking care of our two dogs while we were out of town. She loved and cared for them like they were her own, sending us updates and videos each day. We had an amazing vacation and was able to not worry a bit about how the dogs were adjusting - they were so happy and got so much attention with Terry!! She will be the first person we call whenever we need a sitter! Thank you Terry!!

About: I’ve been working in animal rescue since middle school, and have watched animals both in home and with drop-ins for many years now! I am passionate about animal care, can give medicine with ease, and love a good dog walk. I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician who is both fear-free and RECOVER CPR certified. I specialize in handling the more nervous patients who need a little TLC before doing anything. I always treat my client's pets as my own <3 I am currently working a variable number of shifts, no longer than 12 hours, so I would love to fit your pet into my schedule. On the days I am working, before and after work will be dedicated to their care! When the pets are in your home, they will feel comfortable when I am there as well. I will go over with you everything that you want to get done and make sure I meet your expectations with flying colors.

About: I have taken care of many animals and give the best care I can while sharing pictures and updates to the owner. I can work with food motivated animals to do simple tricks. I am starting college shortly but I still will dedicate as much time as I can to taking care of animals. Breaks and days I don't have classes will be for anyone needing pet care! I have a car and can go to clients' houses and take care of their pets, as I have done often for friends and neighbors. I have a partially fenced yard for leashed play. I am in a house under construction but the top floor is finished and houses my two kittens. Calmer dogs would be better if coming into my house, otherwise I am able to care for any size or personality in the owners house.

Tricia is, hands down, the best pet sitter we have ever had! From start to finish, she went so far above and beyond her basic duties to make sure our home and our dog were completely cared for. Our boy can be extremely picky and hesitant with new people, but Tricia bonded with him almost instantly. He is also a big boy which can intimidate some people. She knew exactly how to make him feel comfortable, safe, and loved while we were away. She played and brushed him daily and have him lots of cuddles! Her communication was incredible. She updated us multiple times every single day and sent plenty of photos and videos, which gave us total peace of mind the entire time we were gone and allowed us to enjoy our vacation. It was so reassuring to see how happy and relaxed he was with her! On top of being an absolute natural with dogs, Tricia took exceptional care of our house and garden, tackling extra tasks and leaving everything in pristine condition for our return. If you are looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and genuinely caring—especially if you have a selective or picky dog—look no further than Tricia. We will absolutely be booking her again!

About: I grew up taking care of our Newfoundland from a puppy. I was his primary caretaker for brushing him, walking him, and feeding him. When I moved out, I helped my parents take care of him until he passed a few years ago from arthritis in his hips. Since I moved out, I adopted two cats from the shelter. I recognize that our animals are part of our families. I follow directions and schedules well, and will strive to provide the best care for your furry family members. I work 7am-3:30pm Mondays through Fridays, so I’m primarily available in the evenings during weekdays. I’m fully available on weekends for pet care. I also have most/federal holidays off, so I will be able to work long weekends. I will use whatever supplies that you have and your pet prefers. I will not bring anything else without your permission. I will make sure to follow directions and schedules as closely as possible, and keep you informed of how your pet is doing.

Jenni was great. She stayed with our fur kids for 6 days/nights. She provided multiple updates throughout the day, often with photos of them attached. I never had to worry about the care they were receiving, and that's not something I can often say. She was flexible with how our system works, and stuck to their schedule. I'm already planning to ask Jenni to come stay again!

Dalynn exceeded our expectations in every way!! Not only was she great to our three dogs (one of whom is definitely clingy and needy), but she left the house in better shape than we had. Dalynn gave medicine to one of our dogs and helped ease her pain from a torn ACL. She also thought to bring in the mail, which we forgot to ask her to do! Can't say enough good things about Dalynn. Recommend with full confidence!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Birch Pointe

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Birch Pointe on Rover is $69.37 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 1,846 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Birch Pointe. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Birch Pointe walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Birch Pointe maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Birch Pointe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Birch Pointe. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
