“This was our first time using Rover and I was a little nervous. Teresa did a FABULOUS job caring for our Chinese Crested. We have literally been driving to Morristown to board him because none of the kennels we’ve looked at or tried around here have been a good fit. She is very responsive and Miyagi was well taken care of. Would highly recommend Teresa and will definitely use her again.”

“Kristen kept our pup and bunny while we were out of town. She did fantastic! Our animals were so excited to see us and had happy little faces and were so relaxed. Kristen also kept our home the same way we left it, clean. We most definitely will have her back to care for our pets when we have to go away again! Thank you!!”

“Jonathan did an excellent job with our dogs. Duke can be a little standoff-ish with new people and Jonathan handled it perfectly. We will definitely use him again.”

“Cheryl was amazing! She spoiled our 100 lb German shepherd and gave us lots of updates. We returned home to a super clean home and everything taken care of. Can’t wait to book Cheryl again, I think our dog had a better vacation than we did lol!”

“Maya and Griffin LOVE Sofia as do I! She takes excellent care of them as well as our home. Very respectful of our place, totally trustworthy, and very dependable. I'm so thankful to have her as our dog sitter.”

“Kayla was everything I had hoped for! Our Abby is quite fearful of new people and Kayla gave her the space she needed but also never gave up. In two half hour visits she got Abby to go on a walk and during her first overnight Abby allowed Kayla to pet her and give her eyedrops. Success! Kayla is punctual, friendly, and yet also professional. I would absolutely use her again (and again and again). Zero regrets. A thousand smiles. 😊”

“Sarah was awesome. Our puppies loved her, and she was very responsible, even putting up with us being helicopter puppy parents! :). Her dog, Lyla was very friendly and played will with our puppies. We will definitely be calling her again.”

“Lexi was amazing at communicating and made our puppies feel comfortable and cozy while we were gone. I couldn’t be more grateful for such an intuitive, caring pup nanny. ?”

“Jack did a great job watching our dog Bella for a week over Thanksgiving! He provided us with pictures and gave us updates throughout the week. Would book with him again in a heartbeat!”

About: Hello! My name is Cynthia! I have been taking care of animals ever since I was a young child, and I treat every pet in my care as if they were my own. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ranging from small breeds like Yorkies to large breeds such as German Shepard and Mastiffs and several in between like Spaniels and Golden Retrievers. I am comfortable handling different energy levels, personalities, and care needs. Additionally, I have experience in caring for cats and am comfortable with feeding, litter box maintenance, and playtime with feline friends. I am detail-oriented and comfortable following specific care instructions and administering medication, as I know every pet requires a unique approach and care. While your pet is in my care, I will send photos and messages daily so you can have peace of mind while you are away! Pet care fits well into my weekly routine! I work weekdays from 8:00am to 5:30pm, so I can provide morning and evening walks, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention before and after work. If your home does not have a dog door, I'm happy to stop by during my lunch break for a midday potty break and walk to help keep your dog's routine as normal as possible. Additionally, I'm comfortable administering oral medications and other routine medications as instructed, and I'm happy to follow any special care needs your pet may have. If you're only looking for a dog walker, I'm available for evening walks on weekdays, making it a great option for those who work third shift or have late work hours. On weekends, I have the flexibility to provide walks throughout the day to fit your pet's schedule and your needs. For house sitting, I stay overnight in my clients' homes so your pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment. Since I live in an apartment that does not allow animals, I am unable to host pets in my own home. Whether I'm caring for dogs or cats, I'll make sure they receive personalized care, lots of affection, and daily updates with photos so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and any special instructions so I can provide consistent care while you're away. Whether that includes feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, or simply giving them companionship, I'll make sure they receive the individualized attention they deserve. When caring for pets in your home, I respect both your pet's routine and your home. I'll ensure doors, gates, and fences are secure, keep your home tidy, and provide regular daily updates with photos so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to help your pets feel safe and comfortable in their familiar environment while giving you peace of mind that they're in caring, reliable hands.
“Dana did a great job with all my pets including farm animals. Lots to do and accomplished all, took good notes and great pics of all. She’s good at being attentive to all needs and concerns.”
“Kelley was great. Truly great. All of our dogs were happy and well cared for. Kelley provided good updates and pictures throughout her engagement and left the house cleaner then when she arrived. Looking forward to working with her again.”

“Bethany watched my 3 dogs while I was away for a long weekend. I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! She kept me updated with pictures, followed all instructions, and gave my pups so much love and attention. So thankful to have a peace of mind while I was away. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and kind dog sitter!”

About: I’m currently a college student, but I only have to be on campus two days a week for a few hours, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I’ve completed multiple pet- and house-sitting jobs for friends, family, and people who were referred to me through them. My stays have ranged from a few days to a full week. I have experience caring for small dogs, large dogs, and cats, and I’m comfortable learning and following each pet’s individual routine. I also have two pugs of my own who I regularly care for while my mom is at work and I’m doing my classes from home. Taking care of my own dogs has given me plenty of hands-on experience with feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, and making sure they get the attention and care they need. I also have experience caring for both indoor and outdoor houseplants, so I’m happy to help keep your plants and home cared for while you’re away. Over time, I’ve found a special love for caring for animals while their families are away. I know that being away from their family and normal routine can be stressful for pets, and it makes me genuinely happy to be there to give them comfort and attention. I love being able to help them feel safe, happy, and cared for until their family comes home. I understand that pets are family, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to give every pet the same patience, love, and care that I would want someone to give my own. My schedule is very flexible, which allows me to give your pets plenty of attention and care. I have two classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a break between them that gives me time to check on pets if needed. I also currently work as a host about 2–3 days a week, although with school starting I may reduce that to around 2 days a week. I’m careful about balancing my work and school schedule so that I can still be available for the pets I’m caring for. There will never be a day where my school and work schedule keeps me away for an extended period of time without being able to check on your pets. I want you to feel confident that your pets will receive the attention, care, and companionship they need throughout your time away. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I make it a priority to follow their normal routine as closely as possible. I’ll make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get their walks and exercise, and receive plenty of playtime, attention, and companionship. I also understand that every pet is different, so I’m happy to follow specific instructions and routines that help them feel comfortable while their family is away. For house sitting, I treat my client’s home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I’m happy to bring in mail, care for indoor and outdoor plants, and keep the home clean and tidy while I’m there. My biggest goal is to make the experience as stress-free as possible for both the pets and their owners. I want pets to feel safe, loved, and comfortable in their own home until their family returns. I am no stranger to asking questions when instructions are unclear or if I am unsure about something while house-sitting
“Kim was amazing with our 2 fur babies ! She made it so easy and eased our minds about leaving our puppets at home under her care. Falkor and Seraphina immediately took to Kim and were sad when it was time for her to go home. Highly recommend Kim ❣️❣️❣️🐾🐾🐾🐾”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 674 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Big Springs. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Big Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Big Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Big Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
