About: I’m the sitter who has had dogs around my whole life. I handle every stage—from zoomy teens to slow‑motion seniors—with patience, humor, and clear communication. Basically: you relax, I’ll handle the fur‑kids. I currently work full time Monday through Friday and am looking to pet sit and walk dogs after work and on weekends to help get some extra money for bills. I would prefer to watch your dogs in their own space at your home. It helps them feel more comfortable. I also have a cat so having dogs over is difficult.
“Alexander was excellent with watching over our cats. Even though they were shy and skittish, they were well taken care of and warmed up quickly. We felt comfortable and safe knowing that Alexander was taking care of our cats. Medication was delivered on schedule and provided to our cat who needed it on a strict schedule, even though Hades really hated getting the medication. Extra effort was given above and beyond what we expected.”

“Sam is amazing! So sweet and attentive with our dogs and cat. She’s a great communicator and I would absolutely book her again and again. She goes above and beyond! Highly recommend her!”

“Helen was really great with Susie and got her to warm up very quickly despite her being shy. She took great care of her and was a great communicator. I would recommend her!”

About: I was raised on a farm with all sorts of animals to take care of. I have always had a best friend/roommate dog or cat, and currently live with a chatty, lovely 15-yr old torti female cat. They are all very familiar with other dogs, cats, and guinea pigs, and socialize regularly with family and guests' pets. I work remotely from home, but very flexible with location. I also have access to a reliable vehicle! Overall, my pets wake me up in the morning to ask for treats thanks to being absolutely spoiled, and then remind me to feed them all the time, just in case I forget. They're pampered and thriving. Pet care is a very regularly and well-done part of my life. Farm life also included some hospitality amenities and a military family, so as now as an adult/person/employee/friend I'm able to use my experience from growing up and traveling widely by respectfully being in another's space and making friends along the way. Together your pets and I can go on nice play walks by a lake and dog-friendly parks. Cats obviously do whatever they want and outside is optional.
About: Hi, I’m John! I’m here to help fill the gap for you. *Note* while typically I mainly do dog boarding, I am available to do drop in visits and dog walking on weekends or in the evening if needed. If you would prefer a meet and greet before you bring them over for a long stay, let me know what time works best for! I offer pick up services for your pet if you don’t have time to drop them off as long as you are within a reasonable distance and it doesn’t conflict with my work schedule. Let me know how I can help! I’m able to give meals and potty breaks every two hours throughout the day or as needed if your pooch needs more attention. Let me know how I can better help you! We’re pet people, too. I allow pets on my furniture. I feed my dog in the morning but can do as many meals as you require and can feed your pup separately if they’re good aggressive.
“Rachel did a great job with my cat, Susie, and offered her lots of affection and care. She followed all instructions and gave me updates when needed. I can tell she cares a lot about Susie’s well-being and I would recommend her to anyone. This is the second time she has watched Susie and I hope to continue working with her in the future!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats all my life. My experience with most animals is pretty well. I use stern commands and also make sure that the pets that I take care of feel like they’re right at home. I am a full time teacher and on the weekends I bartend. I make sure that my dog gets well taken care of during the week by walking her before work or after work. I make sure that she gets played, fed and walked. I make sure my dog is well taken care of and I abide by whatever the client expects from me. Trust is huge in being able to care of someone’s precious baby.
“Kristin was a great fit for us. She provided the perfect care we were looking for for our cat. We were thankful she was available over a holiday weekend. She dropped in to feed our cat and clean his litter box each day and also was willing to vacuum up his scattered litter and clean up his spilled water. Would hire Kristin again!”

About: I want to be your pets favorite nanny! I’m totally open to taking care of any animals you have! Pets are my best friend. I am outgoing and empathetic towards all animals. I would really enjoy to walk your dog/cat/ferret? Whichever pet you call yours! :) I have owned dogs and cats my whole life. I currently have a beautiful 7 year old chocolate lab named Zeke and 2 crazy kittys who are both 3 years old. They are a lively bunch and love making new friends! I am willing to drive as far as 30 Miles out of Bemidji to take care of your critters. I’ve loved animals my whole life and love meeting new ones. I am currently working from home full time and also going to school here at BSU. I have free time most days and love to do my homework outside of I can! I have a fenced in yard, I have two kittys and one puppers, they are friendly. If needed I can bring my own pets to another place in town while I am pet setting for you. I am more than willing to do that if needed. I also have a spare bedroom where your pet can stay to feel comfortable if they need to be secluded. But Zeke, Zoey, and Chance always love the extra company 😄
About: I’ve always had more than one pet at a time in my household growing up. After graduating I would take care of my older brothers dogs or my grandmas dogs while they went away. Now I have my own 2.5 year old pit mix. I’ve been around every breed and I love them all and treat them all like babies no matter their age or size! I currently only do pet sitting. I am finishing a coding class right now so I am fully available! My own pup has family to watch her while I spend time with yours so never an issue. I am not currently taking any dogs at my own place but I am more than happy to watch, walk, and check in on your pup for you!
About: I have been around dogs almost every day of my life :) I have worked with all kinds of breeds! I absolutely love them and I love spending my time around them. I am open most weekends and after 3pm on weekdays! Although I am able to come home at anytime from 7am-3pm for walks, bathroom breaks, or eating. I have two other dogs in the home to keep other dogs company. If there is any issues with other dogs I have a nice garage to keep either my or other dogs comfortable!
About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life! I can offer just about everything when caring for your puppers, I absolutely adore dogs. I have a 5 year old black lab, Ryker. He’s my first born haha, and just recently adopted a female black lab, Oakley. We are thinking she’s around 6. I am married, my husband Nicholas loves animals just as much as I do. We are both Marine Corps Veterans. I’ve cared for dogs as soon as from when they were born. I love taking my dog on walks and to the dog park so I would love caring for others fur babies when you are in need of someone to help out! I am currently working from home so I can watch your dogs at any time, my schedule is pretty open on nights, weekends and holidays as well. I have extra dishes big or small. I do not have a fenced in yard but I always make sure dogs that I’m watching are on a leash. Regardless of how well behaved the dog is, I do not want them running off or getting hurt.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
