“Gilian took was a wonderful sitter for my 1 1/2 year old golden. My boy is spoiled and he gets lots of attention at home so I knew I wanted someone that would be with him full time. Gillian would send me pictures and updates daily and I could see he was having a blast with the other dogs there. I felt my pup was in good hands and will definitely have Gilliam watch him again.”

“Amanda was amazing and accommodating with drop off and pickup. She took the time to really get to know all the details with Rusty and his habbits. She gave updates and pictures. Rusty had a great time and was a sad to leave. 13/10 recommend.”

“Diane and Dale went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule and care for Oliver. He fit right in with their dog, Lexi, enjoyed the walks around the pond and was well-loved. I highly recommend them!”

“Yolanda and her family took excellent care for my two boys! She was very responsive to my concerns and questions. The boys also got great treatment, lots of love and walks. I am especially pleased with Yolanda’s ability to take care of any size and type of dog. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for care”

“Paul did an amazing job watching our pup! He "warned' us that he would try to exceed our expectations, and no question he absolutely did. We loved all the updates with photos, and the numerous offsite visits to parks was so fun to see. So comforting while we were such a long distance away. We'd recommend Paul to anyone!”

“Patricia took amazing care of my dog. He tends to have separation anxiety, and she treated him like a family member and he had a great stay with her family. She sent daily updates and pictures, and I can't recommend Patricia enough!”

“Scott and his family were amazing. The daily pictures and updates were something we looked forward to while we were on vacation. We were able to relax knowing they were in good hands and having the time of their lives. They came home so tired! Would 100% use them again.”

“Cortney was really accommodating and great with Bo. Also prompt in communicating and shared pictures and a video of Bo during his stay. Her dog was a great playmate for Bo and he had a blast. I would recommend Coutney!”

“We felt very comfortable leaving our dog with April. She is very friendly, her home is beautiful and clean, she has a couple of cute kiddos, and she has friendly dogs of her own which provided entertainment for our Paisley. We weren't disappointed - we received photo updates of Paisley at her stay. Upon pickup, Paisley was healthy and happy! We will definitely have April care for Paisley again. Thank you!”

“Our goldendoodle loved her stay with Jennifer and her family. She looked happy in all pictures and came home tired from a weekend of play. Jennifer asked all the right questions to support our Ava and helped us through our Rover stay. We would definitely choose her again!”

About: Large yard and house, work from home and dog owner. He’s great with dogs, let me know if you need help. Plenty of attention to give. I work from home so I am attentive and able to be interactive at all times. I have a large yard but prefer to keep my dog leashed I have a 3 year old dog lab mix. He’s a baby but big. Great at dog parks and with other dogs, plenty of space.

“Riley had such a great experience, and I truly can’t say enough good things. Communication was amazing from start to finish, and she was so flexible when our flights changed, which took a huge weight off my shoulders. She even sent pictures without us asking which we absolutely loved and really appreciated. Her kids and mother were incredibly kind and Riley also got along so well with their dog, Annalise. Riley isn’t around other dogs very often, so I was a little nervous, but they did great together and it made me so happy to hear how well she adjusted. Honestly, the whole experience felt so comfortable… like I’ve known them for a long time. That says a lot when you’re trusting someone with your dog. I would absolutely use them again without hesitation. I think Riley may have even found herself a new best friend 🐾”

“Left our dog with Cyen while we were out of the country and it went great! She sent us updates daily and we loved watching our pup play with her dog while we were gone. Would recommend!”

“Amazing experience with Kathryn! Our pup was well cared for during her stay. Incredible timely communication and updates with pictures. Coco is looking forward to another visit in future.”

“Mack loves going by Rebecca and David. He always has a fun time during his stay. They both do a great job of making sure he has what he needs and helps him feel at home!”

“Kayla was awesome ! Her communication was out of this world . My babygirl 🐶 really enjoyed her staycation . I’ll definitely book again — and if you’re considering booking with Kayla don’t hesitate!”

About: I love dogs. I dog sat the Dogs on Deployment 2018 Mascot named Peanut, until a pcs move. I dog sit friends & family dogs quite often. I have 4 Vizslas, 2 females and 2 intact (sweetie pie) males. I have been taking care of dogs most of my life, & just thought I would offer my services via the Rover platform. I am currently self-employed, with some side businesses (like pet sitting), running my farm & farm stand, tending chickens, ducks, & geese, as well as our vegetable garden. I make sourdough & jams and I so enjoy staying home on our farmette. I am very flexible. I have 2 acres of fenced property for your pup to run. I have wooden and stone floors. I would love on your pet as if it were mine.

“I am so glad I found MJ. He is a wonderful sitter, he takes his role on here very seriously. He took Anna to the park to play, there was snuggle time and Anna was a very happy girl when I saw her again. I would use and recommend MJ.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Barton home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Barton.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Barton sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
