“Ben is amazing sitter for our Rufus!!! He is constantly interacting with Rufus, working with him on sitting, heeling. He is following our schedule for Rufus , Ben really cares about his individualized care needs. We had a bad experience at a local kennel and thanks to Ben we are completely comfortable to leave Rufus in his very capable hands. Ben has also introduced Rufus to his own furbaby, Mara. We absolutely love little Mara , Rufus has 2 new friends now!!! We highly recommend Ben and Mara for house sitting services 🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🥰🎉”

About: I’m Lawrence and I love dogs. Pet sitting is so rewarding! I also love that I have the freedom to work at home, while caring for animals. You’ll love that I’m able to spend the entire day with your dog so I can get to know their personality and individual needs. Customers remark say I have calming energy that animals feed off and creates a great environment for their care. I pay the utmost attention to the owner’s wishes and perspective as well as the dog themselves. I treat and respect every stay as a unique experience and hope to connect with you to create a respectful and symbiotic relationship. I live in a cozy home in Norwalk with Gabby. Our neighborhood is dog-friendly and perfect for walking. The streets are calm and you can rest assured your dog is in safe hands when walking around my neighborhood. We have a great park across the street from my house which, with your permission, I’d love to take your pup to. I have a range of experience with all sizes, breeds, and personalities of pups. I grew up with Shepherds and Labs but have spent time with many dogs. My fiancé Gabby will be there as well to provide extra cuddles. My clients have fallen in love with her natural ability and calmness. She’s a great partner and your pup will be lucky to have us both in their care. When I’m not spending time with pups (or when I am), I enjoy relaxing with Gabby, developing video games and skateboarding.

“Evangelina is everything we hoped to find for our Winnie. The photos that were shared showed my husband and I that Winnie was in great hands. I also noticed how much Winnie connected with Evie. We actually returned late from our vacation and without hesitation Evie offered extra help. I will definitely be reaching back out to Evie for future pet services.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and have such a love for them. I know that dogs are more than just pets-they are part of the family! My family has had basset hounds for my whole life, so I have seen and loved them at every stage of life. I’ve done my share of dog care for them, including walking, feeding, giving medicine, ear-care, and brushing fur (my dog’s personal favorite)! I have also taken care of friends’ dogs, ranging all sizes and ages, when they have been out of town as well! I’m currently a teacher on summer break so I have a pretty open schedule! I can be very flexible with what times I am needed and if you need me to be very specific at the times I take care of your pets I will absolutely do that-I know lots of doggos need or get used to certain times for care! If you let me know what areas for walking are at your home, I am happy to follow whatever route you normally go on or would like for them to-same if you have a neighborhood dog park! I’m very active so I’m happy to walk/run with them as far as they need! If you need assistance with my giving them food and/or medicine, just let me know where it is and how much to give and I am happy to do that!
“I will hire Diana every time I need to leave town. She followed my instructions to the letter. She came back to return my key and my 3 dogs were all happy to see her again. She noticed one of my dogs was needy and she also had to deal with a shelter/adopted German Shepherd that is afraid of everything. She was on time. Stayed through the nights I requested. I love that she loved my babies while I was gone for the weekend.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities and truly treat every dog like my own. I’m especially comfortable with puppies, high-energy dogs, and those that need structure or boundaries—I’m currently raising a puppy myself, so I understand training, routines, and behavior firsthand. What sets me apart is the environment and attention I provide. I have plenty of space for dogs to safely explore, get their energy out, and decompress—without the chaos of a crowded kennel. I focus on structured care, including consistent feeding schedules, potty routines, supervised play, and calm downtime so your dog feels secure and balanced. I’m attentive, patient, and very in tune with behavior, whether that’s managing puppy nipping, reinforcing good habits, or helping dogs feel comfortable in a new environment. You’ll get regular updates and photos so you always know your pet is happy and well cared for. I work a consistent schedule and am able to provide reliable, attentive care every day. Dogs in my care are not left alone for long periods, and I make sure they get regular potty breaks, playtime, and structured routines throughout the day. I’m available for boarding, drop-ins, and walks, with flexibility for weekends and extended stays. My goal is to keep your dog’s routine as close to home as possible so they feel comfortable, relaxed, and well cared for. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, structured environment with plenty of space for supervised outdoor time and exercise. Because I have a large private property, dogs have room to explore while always being closely monitored. I am experienced with different temperaments, including puppies and high-energy dogs, and I focus on maintaining good behavior, routines, and boundaries during their stay. Dogs are never left unsupervised outside, and I can crate if requested or follow your dog’s normal home routine. I take time to understand each dog’s needs, personality, and preferences so they feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free while you’re away. You’ll also receive regular updates and photos for peace of mind.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Barium Springs
We recently went on vacation and normally our daughter watches our 3 Labs. Unfortunately for this trip our daughter could only watch them for a portion of the time, which meant we had to find someone to cover those days. So we started our search on Rover and found Leslie, and boy are we glad we did. First and foremost, she is a genuinely good person. Our Labs acted like they've known her for years during the meet n greet and it was clear she was a good fit. Leslie did everything we agreed to and then some. We have cameras which cover the entire house, yes we need need to see our pups. Shortly after she left our youngest threw up and I happened to be checking on them when it happened. I sent her a text and she promptly went back, cleaned it up and made sure he was OK. We couldn't have made a better choice and going forward Leslie is the only one we'll trust with our pups. Thanks Leslie.
Breanna was absolutely wonderful! She took great care of out sweet girl and was very responsive and communicative; she sent updates several times daily and even had a little form she sent with feeding times, potty times, etc. She stayed in our home and kept up with the routine and I can't say enough good things. We are looking forward to booking her services again :)

Kelsey was absolutely wonderful with Romeo during our 5-day trip! She took excellent care of him in our home and was reliable, attentive, and clearly genuinely cared about Romeo’s wellbeing. Romeo clearly loved her and was completely comfortable in her care. She took pics and sent us daily updates. It gave us such peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands while we were away. We would definitely book with Kelsey again and highly recommend her to other dog parents!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Barium Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Barium Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Barium Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Barium Springs. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
