Josselyn was absolutely amazing. She came to take care of my 3 cats twice daily. She sat with them, gave them treats and love. She sent me pictures and regular updates. She even vacuumed up cat fur before my return home. She cleaned the litter box twice while I was away for over a week. She tidied up the kitchen for me and took out my trash! I felt very relaxed knowing she was spending time with my cats! I would highly recommend Josselyn to anyone looking for pet care!

Gretchen is absolutely wonderful! Our shy puppy took to her immediately. We were nervous about having a stranger doing drop-ins because our pup tends to get scared, but after meeting Gretchen and seeing how well they got on, our worries melted away. She checks in with us and sends us cute pictures of our girl (who is happy as ever)! So happy we found her!

Jenna communicates so well! Inga is a rescue who had a rough 2 years as a pup. It has taken Inga 14 years of TLC from us to get to where she is - lovable and sweet. Jenna is experienced and knows how to approach Inga and win her over her affection. Kudos to Jenna❣️

Autumn did a great job! She gave attention to all 5 cats, fed them and played with them. One cat needed a pill and the other an insulin injection. She did great and we would have her sit for us again!

About: What sets me apart is my background as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. While I love playtime and cuddles, I provide a level of oversight that standard sitters cannot. I am proficient in Animal medicine, including insulin injections, subcutaneous fluids, and complex pill schedules. I have a "clinical eye" for the subtle changes in senior pets, ensuring their comfort and catching potential issues early. I am trained in low-stress handling techniques for anxious patients to help keep them happy in their own environment. My years in practice mean I remain calm and decisive in medical emergencies. I provide more than just a check-in; I offer the peace of mind that your pet is being watched by a veterinary professional. I have a pretty consistent schedule and with a pet of my own that has another parent at home with them, I can travel pretty freely. About: I have many years of experience with animals. As a teenager I worked at a vet for about a year were I helped clean kennels, take dogs out for walks as well as feed and clean up after them. I have also had my own pets since I was very young. Including dogs and cats as well as rabbits and hamsters. I have taken care of kittens as young as a week old to pets being days away from passing on. I am currently a stay at home mom. I have a 2 month old little boy and a 6 year old boy. I also have 2 dogs myself. A almost 3 year old beagle and a 2 year old red heeler. They certainly keep me on my toes but I am willing to take on the needs of other peoples pets as if they were my own. I know how heartbreaking it is to have to keep your pets inside alone all day while having to work or are going away and need some reliable to help with them so me being able to help you and them is something I want to be able to do. I have 2 dogs that are my other babies. While I’m home I’m constantly taking them outside for walks when I can as well as playing with them. My beagle is a cuddly girl so we definitely spend some time lounging around and cuddling on the couch as well.

We called Jen last minute for a family need. She was needed to watch our 2 big doggie girls for an extended period of time with a very varied drop in schedule. She sent pictures and videos with our girls providing detailed information, which put me at ease being away for so long. It was clear that our girls loved spending time with Jen. I would highly recommend using Jen for your pet care needs. Thank you Jen!

About: What sets me apart is my lifelong experience caring for dogs with a wide range of needs. I currently care for three dogs of my own, including a senior dog who requires extra patience, attention, and gentle care. I also cared for my previous dog throughout his battle with epilepsy. Administering his medication on schedule and staying with him during and after his seizures taught me how important it is to remain calm, attentive, and compassionate during stressful situations. Because of these experiences, I'm comfortable caring for senior pets, administering oral medications, and providing extra attention to animals with special needs. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, and I always take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I treat every pet as if they were my own, with plenty of patience, affection, playtime, and reliable care. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pet is in caring and capable hands. Since I am a Nursing Student at ESU, my daily schedule is jam-packed with classes. However, my evenings are usually relatively open and I am always open to overnight sitting! I love animals with all my heart and spending time with different personalities is really special to me. I believe every pet deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. In my client's home, I make it a priority to keep your pet's routine as consistent as possible by following feeding schedules, providing fresh water, going on walks or playing as needed, cleaning up after them, and giving them plenty of attention and affection. I'm also happy to administer oral medications and provide extra care for senior pets or those with special needs. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets. I currently care for three dogs, including a senior dog, and I previously cared for my epileptic dog, ensuring he received his medication on time and staying by his side whenever he experienced a seizure. Those experiences taught me patience, responsibility, and how to remain calm in unexpected situations. Whether your pet loves long walks, endless playtime, quiet cuddles, or simply having someone nearby, I'll adapt to their individual personality and needs. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you're away.

About: I have been in pet care since I 2019 starting with my own puppy. Since then I have worked in professional pet care in education and training through Petco and local businesses. I am dedicated to providing the best and personalized care to your fur baby. I know how important trusting someone to watch over your pet is. I myself have three dogs, two cats, one bird, one spider, five frogs, and one house full of beautiful chaos and love. I want to be the person to put your mind at ease while you are away. During my time with your animals, I will treat them as they are my own with kindness and respect. I will be honored to help care for your little (or big) pet babies! I want this to be my full time job as much as possible. I have my internship (animal care at a local AZA certified zoo) Monday and Friday, but am otherwise free. I have a two story duplex with a fenced in yard in a quiet and safe neighborhood. I love being outdoors and can even offer hikes after getting to know your dogs a little more. I thrive on attention to detail and can even do medication administration and body examinations.

Ashley is a wonderful pet sitter; both dependable and trustworthy. You can tell she loves animals, spending time during visits not just feeding them, but actually giving the pets love and attention. During my time away, she kept me up to date on the cats' status and sent a lot of photos of the cats being cared for.

Many truly went above and beyond while caring for my cat. She sent me regular updates and pictures and even took time to play my cat's favorite game while I was gone. The temperatures in Seattle rose to dangerous levels in my absence. Mandy eased my anxiety by checking the heat level on the back of my cat's ear to make sure she wasn't overheating. I didn't know about this tactic beforehand and am grateful I could learn from her. It was a comfort knowing my cat was in such good hands.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Bangor stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bangor. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
