About: I am familiar with all forms and types of animals from mice to birds, but I've found that dogs prefer being walked the most. I am a freelance artist so I am available 24/7 and have experience with raising puppies, training, teaching new tricks to old dogs, and giving unsolicited advice on dog collar styles. I've cared for cats, dogs, birds, and even children. Rest assured your pet will be safe with me. I treat my clients like family, since I will be taking care of theirs after all. In fact my family has been pet and home sitters for three generations! I have experience with caring for elderly pets, administration of medication, certified in human CPR and I know dog CPR, and caring for sick or injured animals. Get out of the house and explore the neighborhood, maybe even check out new treats at the pet shop. I want to ensure they have a good night's sleep. I prefer a fenced in yard that way it adds an extra degree of protection against types of critters who might try and pick a fight.

“Josselyn was absolutely amazing. She came to take care of my 3 cats twice daily. She sat with them, gave them treats and love. She sent me pictures and regular updates. She even vacuumed up cat fur before my return home. She cleaned the litter box twice while I was away for over a week. She tidied up the kitchen for me and took out my trash! I felt very relaxed knowing she was spending time with my cats! I would highly recommend Josselyn to anyone looking for pet care!”

About: I have many years of experience with animals. As a teenager I worked at a vet for about a year were I helped clean kennels, take dogs out for walks as well as feed and clean up after them. I have also had my own pets since I was very young. Including dogs and cats as well as rabbits and hamsters. I have taken care of kittens as young as a week old to pets being days away from passing on. I am currently a stay at home mom. I have a 2 month old little boy and a 6 year old boy. I also have 2 dogs myself. A almost 3 year old beagle and a 2 year old red heeler. They certainly keep me on my toes but I am willing to take on the needs of other peoples pets as if they were my own. I know how heartbreaking it is to have to keep your pets inside alone all day while having to work or are going away and need some reliable to help with them so me being able to help you and them is something I want to be able to do. I have 2 dogs that are my other babies. While I’m home I’m constantly taking them outside for walks when I can as well as playing with them. My beagle is a cuddly girl so we definitely spend some time lounging around and cuddling on the couch as well.

“Gwen made me feel so comfortable with my first time using Rover! She came for an initial meet and greet and eased my mind about the whole process, and I knew she would take great care of my 3 large dogs during a drop in visit. She arrived promptly, documented all potty break events, and sent me pictures which eased my mind on our long day out. We can't wait to have Gwen back to care for our girls!”

About: I have been in pet care since I 2019 starting with my own puppy. Since then I have worked in professional pet care in education and training through Petco and local businesses. I am dedicated to providing the best and personalized care to your fur baby. I know how important trusting someone to watch over your pet is. I myself have three dogs, two cats, one bird, one spider, five frogs, and one house full of beautiful chaos and love. I want to be the person to put your mind at ease while you are away. During my time with your animals, I will treat them as they are my own with kindness and respect. I will be honored to help care for your little (or big) pet babies! I want this to be my full time job as much as possible. I have my internship (animal care at a local AZA certified zoo) Monday and Friday, but am otherwise free. I have a two story duplex with a fenced in yard in a quiet and safe neighborhood. I love being outdoors and can even offer hikes after getting to know your dogs a little more. I thrive on attention to detail and can even do medication administration and body examinations.

“Casey was wonderful with our two dogs! She was not just helpful but also extremely caring and respectful. Our older dachshund requires a bit more attention and Casey was so patient with him. She sent us timely updates and lots of photos during her visits and we could tell how comfortable they both were with her. She was great to communicate with and really put our minds at ease while being away from our dogs. We cannot recommend Casey enough and would love to have her come see the boys again soon!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I can remember. This includes all types, small, big, young, old. I provide good care for all the dogs I take care of, including giving medicine, listening to their training requirements, and giving them extra love and attention! I currently work at a Doggie Daycare and am college full time. However whenever I’m not doing either I would love to help take care of your pets! I don’t have any pets at home, however I have found that dogs are more comfortable in their own home and more at ease with all the dogs I have watched. So coming to their homes is always preferable to ensure their wellbeing

I have a flexible schedule and will go out of my way to accommodate your needs. I have experience with administering medications and treatments and handling special needs animals. I have worked through years of training with my dogs and have experience dealing with fearful and reactive dogs. In my spare time I enjoy walking our dogs and continuing training with them. I strongly believe animals should be treated with the same amount of love, respect and compassion as a person. In my home, our pets are family! I will go to great lengths to ensure your pet is as comfortable and happy as possible and treated as part of the family! Any questions, please feel free to reach out! I can be available for last minutes needs whether it’s stopping by for potty breaks and feeding or boarding over a long period of time. About: If your pet could choose their sitter, I’m hoping they’d pick the person who is already excited to meet them! I’ve grown up around animals my whole life, and I’ve always had a soft spot for the furry members of the family. I haven’t been able to have pets of my own for a while, so I’ve happily adopted my friends’ cats and dogs instead—affectionately calling them my **“furry nieces and nephews.”** I’m the person who wants to hear all about their personality, remembers their favorite treats, and is perfectly happy spending an unreasonable amount of time giving them attention. Last year, I took that love a step further and volunteered at a local animal shelter, where I spent my time walking and caring for dogs. I absolutely loved it and realized that getting to know different animals—and figuring out what makes each one comfortable and happy—is something I genuinely enjoy. What I think sets me apart is that I don’t see pet sitting as simply stopping by to feed a pet and check a box. **I want your pet to actually have a good time while you’re away.** Whether that means a long sniff-filled walk, an energetic game of fetch, a cozy afternoon of cuddles, or simply sitting nearby for a nervous pet who needs some company, I’m happy to meet them where they are. Every animal has their own personality, quirks, routines, and preferences, and I love getting to know them. My goal is for your pets to feel safe, loved, and completely spoiled—and for you to feel confident knowing they’re in good hands. I’m looking for a flexible way to spend more time doing something I genuinely love, and I’d be thrilled to add your pets to my ever-growing list of furry nieces and nephews. ❤️🐶🐱 One of the best things about my schedule is that I work two part-time jobs, and both are very flexible. This allows me to build pet care into my day and offer visits at different times rather than being tied to a traditional 9–5 schedule. I’m available for morning and evening visits during the week, with even more flexibility on the weekends. I can also make multiple visits throughout the day when your pet needs a little extra attention. My typical availability looks like: Mondays & Wednesdays: I have the most flexibility and can usually stop by up to three times throughout the day. Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays: These days are a little busier, but I can still provide a morning visit and an evening visit after 4 PM. Weekends: I have more flexibility and can make multiple visits throughout the day depending on your pet’s needs and location. I know every pet has a different routine, and I’m happy to work with you to create a schedule that keeps your pet comfortable and cared for while you’re away. Whether your cat needs a quick morning check-in, some evening playtime, or multiple visits throughout the day, I have the flexibility to make it work. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. When caring for a pet in their home, I treat their space and routine with the same respect I would want for my own home and animals. I take the time to learn your pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, medications if needed, litter box or potty routines, favorite toys, hiding spots, and any quirks or behaviors I should know about. I know that cats especially can be sensitive to changes, so I try to keep things as familiar and stress-free as possible while you’re away. I’m also very mindful of home security. I make sure doors are securely closed, follow any instructions regarding alarms or entry, and am careful with windows, doors, and anything else your pet might get into. I’ll never leave a pet in an unsafe situation or do anything outside of the care instructions you’ve provided. Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable knowing that someone trustworthy is looking after your pet and your home. I’m happy to send updates, photos, and little check-ins so you can see how your furry family member is doing while you’re away. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, loved, and comfortable in their own home—and for you to have peace of mind while you’re away.

About: I’ve owned dogs my whole life and have always had a passion for caring for animals. I currently have two dogs of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I also help care for my elderly dog with special needs, giving me experience with senior pets who require extra patience, attention, and gentle care. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply lots of cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I’m currently a student who is mostly remote. I have a very open summer schedule thanks to my summer break. I’m available weekdays and weekends. Or message me if you are in a pinch and I can try and accommodate you! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I understand how important it is to maintain your pet’s routine, so I’ll follow your instructions closely to help them feel relaxed and at home. Whether that includes daily walks, feeding on a specific schedule, administering medications, bathing, playtime, or simply spending quality time together, I’ll make sure they receive the attentive care they deserve.

Autumn has been absolutely wonderful! We’ve used her many times to watch our dog Krosby and cat Reggie, and she always does an amazing job. She came three times a day for an hour each visit and took great care of both of them. We completely trust her with our pets and would highly recommend Autumn to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter!

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Millers

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
