Cristel took the most amazing care of our dog and cat while we went away for a week. She has a very warm personality. Our dog loved her from the second he met her. Our very shy cat even came out to spend time with her. She’s very professional and thorough. She sent us great texts and pictures every day. We had such a great vacation because she made us feel very relaxed and comfortable that our fur babies were in great hands. She made us feel like she loved them as much as we do. We came home to a spotless house. It looked like it was deep cleaned. I can honestly say she’s one of the best caregivers we’ve ever met. I highly, highly recommend her.

David makes our dogs feel safe and loved. They run to him as soon as they see him. He followed all our specific instructions and was very conscientious. He snuggled with them and played with them. We really appreciated how positive he was about staying with Belle and Rory. We would definitely use David again!

Andrew did a great job house sitting for our 3 pups. He was very patient with our German Shepherd (she has separation anxiety), and confident that she would eventually adjust to him being there- and she did! She even slept near Andrew! Andrew sent photos daily of the pups! They were in great hands! We would feel very comfortable leaving our pups with Andrew again! Also, our house was kept very neat upon our return home.

I cannot speak highly enough of Hailee. This was her first time dog sitting for us, and every single thing that could have gone wrong in our house did. Our water heater broke right before she arrived and started flooding the finished basement, the plumber that fixed the water heater accidentally left the gas off so there was no heat for 24 hours, and there was a fire down the street that caused them to turn off the power to our grid. And yet, Hailee made it all a breeze. Between coordinating with our plumber, keeping the dogs calm with the commotion in the house, and keeping us in the loop. We came home to a clean house and happy & tired dogs. You would have never known that it was a crazy week. Highly recommend if you want peace of mind & will be rebooking!

I don't have enough words to describe how incredible Jay was with my kids. She was caring, attentive, reliable, communicative and consistent to name a few. I feel so thankful to have come across her profile and to have her in my tribe for my fur babies. 10/10 would recommend anyone book her and will absolutely be rebooking her in the future. I received pictures and updates throughout each day AND received a full album of stunning pictures that she'd taken on her professional camera as well. Just truly a gem! Thank you so much, Jay!!

About: Tailored pet care, where experience meets compassion. I have a huge heart for all animals! And would care for your pets as they were my own. I am currently working a full time working mom from Sat-Tuesday. I am home with our son We’d-Fri and looking to show our son the value in caring for others. unfortunately i couldn’t bring any furry babies home with me as our home is full, but we can always come visit them in their homes and offer walks, pets, and treats !

We had an unexpected need for a dog sitter, and Rob stepped in without hesitation. From the moment we met him, he was incredibly receptive, knowledgeable, and immediately got along with our dogs. Managing five dogs is no small task, and Rob handled everything flawlessly. Despite the last-minute request, he was more than willing to help with little to no questions asked, which truly put our minds at ease during a stressful situation. Knowing Rob was at our home allowed us to focus on what we needed to without worrying about our dogs. He was communicative throughout the stay, sending updates and photos without us even needing to ask. When we returned home, everything was exactly as we had hoped—our house was spotless, and our dogs were happy, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. We absolutely plan to use Rob again in the future and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with both their pets and their home.

Jane was such a great find!!! My Rhodesian Ridgeback (a breed known to be aloof) took to her immediately. She met with us and then came back for a walk with Zulu so he could get to know her and feel comfortable with her. He is 120 lbs and a big boy but she handled him really well and we could tell it would be a great fit. She and her boyfriend John took him on walks and kept him very busy while we were away. She stayed in our home and left it clean and tidy. We returned and our boy was obviously well taken care of and happy and our home and furniture were intact. Jane was awesome! We would like to have her sit for all of our trips away.

About: I have been a pet care provider through a private company for 10 years, but my passion for pets started long before that. My first pet experience was with cats, which I have owned and cared for since the age of 5. My first dog was a Belgian Malinois, followed by two yellow labs, which gave me a love for bigger dogs. I raised and trains all of my dogs from puppy to adulthood. However, I have worked extensively with all breeds including pit bulls, chihuahuas, terriers, golden retrievers, and mastiffs, and German Shepards. Therefore, I am very adaptable to all types of dog breeds. My aim is to be as individualized and specialized to each owner and pets needs and expectations. Walking, drop ins, and training 7 days a week. Pet sitting/house sitting: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday I am unavailable Wednesdays and Thursdays 2:30-10 pm I match how the pets are cared for in each of my clients homes. Again, my aim is to ensure my services are individualized to the client and pets needs. I would want to maintain the same standard of care to ensure maximum comfortability.

Karen stayed at our house for a week and a half with our 5 cats and 110-lb dog. She sent pics and updates every day, and I could tell that my pets were calm and happy the entire time we were gone. One of our cats has kidney disease and is on a prescription diet, and our dog can be a handful because of how big and strong she is, but Karen handled all of them and their feedings and supplements with ease.

This was a last minute booking, and then the details changed the day before due to a member of my family being hospitalized. Wilfred rolled with the changes and adjusted when to arrive and leave my house in order to give my pup a nice intermission from being stuck at home alone. Very communicative, conscientious, and punctual, with a genuine love and care for animals. Will definitely book again when needed.

You could tell the minute Maddie and our dog met that they were going to buddies. We felt comfortable with leaving our dog with her also. This was the first time using this service, hence first time hiring Maddie we plan on looking to book her, if she’s available, the next time we go out of town. We highly recommend her.

Ashley was amazing our dog bonded with her immediately and she went the extra mile to do a meet and greet prior and arrived on time and stayed until we got home even though we were delayed. She gave our dog daily medication and sent many photo updates throughout the stay. She was super tidy and we will be a repeat customer for sure and loved having our dog in such capable hands.

FAQs for House Sitting - Bangor

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Bangor on Rover is $51.63 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 960 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bangor. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bangor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bangor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bangor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bangor. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
