“Megan is always so patient with Norman, even with his stranger anxiety. She always goes the extra mile in making sure he's safe and happy. I feel lucky to have found Megan!”

“Jenna was amazing! I am so thankful I found her😁 She took great care of my dog, sent amazing reports and photos, and eased the anxiety I felt at leaving for a trip. I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment booking with Jenna!!!”

“Bailey did a wonderful job taking care of our puppy. She was caring, attentive to his needs and kept us in the loop through out the stay. She also brought in the packages off our front porch when she arrived..not required but much appreciated. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Even before our booking, Savannah was thorough and showed her care for our pets. She asked great questions and was sure to understand our pets needs. During our time away, she was communicative and put us at ease!”

“Bryant did a superb job with our three cats! He made himself available on short notice and did a great job tending to their individual meds. We could tell the cats liked him, too. Would definitely hire again!”

About: I have been spending time and caring for dogs for over 20 years. I love puppies, elderly dogs and all ages in between! I recently had to say a very sad farewell to my 13 year old dog Boonie. I rescued him from a jungle in Guam and he was my best and trusted friend. He was reactive to dogs due to his life experiences around other wild dogs. As such, I became skilled at navigating walking him in environments where he could have the walks he deserved without worry. All dogs deserve this! For those active dogs who don't need extra care while walking and can adventure where other dogs roam free, I love to go on hikes! I have plenty of free time Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm for pet care. I am only caring for pets during weekdays for now. I am happy to come to your home for drop in visits and walks with your pup and will follow any schedule and routine that makes your dog comfortable and happy.
About: Hi all! I am originally from Bozeman and grew up with dogs- I enjoy going for walks and going to dog parks as well as just cuddling on the couch! I am a full time employee at the hospital and can easily do drop in walks or visits and will only accept jobs where I can meet the level of care your pet needs. I treat pets like a part of my family- since I am a renter I am unable to board animals at my house but would follow any guidelines set up by a client to make their pet feel like they are with family.
About: I have grown up around many different types of dogs and have dog sat all through high school. I have a 1 year old puppy and feel confident in my patience working with younger dogs. I am currently a full time student at the University, therefore I am unavailable during weekdays, but I am 100% flexible on the weekend (Friday-Sunday) I will keep a good eye on your fur baby at all times! I will follow any and all directions provided to keep your pup stress free.

About: I’ve taken care of so many different species of animals ever since I was in elementary school. I spend as much time with the pets as I can and love to play and snuggle with them! Their wellbeing and happiness is my top priority I am currently a student at MSU, but my classes are spread out so I have plenty of time to take care of your pet! I am always free on the weekends. I am sure to give my full attention to your pet and cater to their every need. I work with all personalities and temperaments and will always give the highest level of care to any animal I meet!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, turtles, etc... since I was very little. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. I am a graduate nursing student at MSU looking for some extra side gigs! I adore all kinds of animals. I am always happy to go let your pet out or take them for mid-day walks, or watch them overnight for weekends away - just reach out to ask about availability! I love walking, running, and hiking around local trails, adore trips to dog parks, and general play time. I absolutely adore all animals - especially dogs and cats!
About: I have had high energy dogs mostly heelers and love to take them outside for adventures. It helps me bond with them and teach them to be social. I currently work evenings and bring my our dog out for walks all the time during the day. I love taking him to the dog park and hiking and have room to bring others with me. I mostly take my dog to the dog park and leash him when I take him hiking. I would be able to bring another dog with us when we adventure.

About: My three grown children and their families know they can count on me to care for their pets when they’re on vacation, away for work or simply need an extra hand. Their dogs, cats, bunnies and lizards are my grandpets, and they love their bonus grandma! I’m an active, fit empty nester who enjoys long walks, playtime and making sure every pet feels loved and comfortable. I know how much it means to have someone you trust show up for your family. I’d love to offer that same care to others in my community. My grandpets love me, and I hope yours will too I’m an active empty nester with a flexible schedule, so I can often make time for walks, drop-in visits and pet care throughout the week. I’m happy to learn your pet’s routine and find times that work for you, whether you’re away for work, on vacation or just need an extra hand. My home is immaculate, pet-proofed and has plenty of room for your pet to feel comfortable. I’ll follow your instructions for meals, walks and routines, give your pet lots of attention, and send you updates while you’re away. I know how much trust you’re placing in me, and I’ll care for your pet like one of my own grandpets
About: Pets have been a part of my family my entire life. I have experience taking care of animals with special needs, including those with medications, partial paralysis, hyperactive tendencies, senior animals and babies, both dogs and cats. Safety is a priority for me - I will always triple check harnesses and leashes and make sure that gates and doors are properly latched and locked. Your pet will always be treated with kindness and respect, and, with your permission, I will also offer extra treats to spoil your furry family member when I check in on them or take them for walks. I will often have weekend availability but sometimes weekday mornings as well (namely, Tuesday and Thursday mornings). Fridays I will be available on a rotating basis. I will carefully follow all client instructions to ensure that their pets are safe, healthy, and properly cared for. Animals will always be treated with kindness and respect, and they will receive lots and lots of pets when under my care. For dog-walking services, I routinely re-check leash attachment and recommend puppy parents use harnesses to reduce choking possibilities from pulling against collars. I encourage play and snuggles (though there may be more of one than another depending on the temperament of each pet).
About: I’ve been dog sitting for essentially my whole life! I grew up with 3 small dogs in Davidson, North Carolina, then continued to freelance dog sitting throughout undergrad and now grad school at MSU in Bozeman. I’m studying environmental microbiology, and because I’m not sure what my postgrad steps are yet, I am hesitant to get a dog of my own. So, I’d love to be an aunt to as many Bozeman pets as possible! I have taken care of dozens of dogs and cats for my close friends, professors, managers, and strangers. I have no problem with overnight visits due to my flexible schedule, and I’m an avid runner (I ran track and cross country in college) so I’m happy to help dogs get their zoomies out. I’d love to wear out your pups! As a grad student, I have more flexibility than standard 9-5ers, but often need to spend a big chunk of the day in the lab. I’m always able to leave around lunch, but weekdays typically require me to be gone for a few hours at a time. However, weekends are very flexible, and I am almost always available for overnights and have lots of time in the evenings and mornings for walks/runs. Sometimes I have periods of more writing and computer work, and during those times I can be at home with fur babies for more of the day. Unfortunately I can’t board pets due to my landlord’s rules, but when I sit in others’ homes, I usually exercise pets in the morning and in the evening at minimum (since I also have to get my zoomies out) and send pet pictures daily, though I can do this more frequently upon request. I am generally very flexible, responsive, and receptive to whatever pet owners’ preferences are!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
