“Sheriff absolutely loved Chelsea. We did too. She sent photos regularly during his stay and kept us updated. Excellent communication. Her home is warm and loving and the other dogs there are super friendly. We will absolutely hire her again.”

“Daniel was a knight in shining armor for our family. Our original sitter had a family emergency and we had a flight to catch. Daniel was accommodating and made my pup feel at home with lots of walks and belly rubs. Daniel and his family will definitely be our go to for pet sitting!”

“Kim did a great job and has a great house for all types of dogs. She kept us up to date on how our dog was doing and made sure she had all the info she needed to properly care for our dog. Will definitely return to her for dog sitting!”

“Chewbacca (Chewy) had a wonderful stay with Josh and Leah. We recieved pictures often and updates on how he was doing. He was well taken care of as if he was a member of their own family. We highly recommend Joshua and Leah for your dogs stay! We can't thank them enough for their kindness to our Chewy!”

“Aundrea and her family are experienced, patient and helpful. I was out of town for 9 days and she watched my 3 year old dog. This was the longest I’d left him with someone else. I was worried and uncertain about how he’d behave. She was warm; welcoming; provided updates and photos; and was supportive when my dog got anxious.”

“Mo did an amazing job with Willy! She was super responsive, sent regular photo and video updates, and clearly gave him tons of love. Her Cavapoo Bagel was the perfect playmate. The meet & greet before booking put us at ease, and Willy came home happy and calm. Highly recommend for small dogs!”

“Andrea was great! Upon meeting her I instantly felt comfortable and confident that she would be wonderful to take care of my dog River. She loves your pet like it is her own. My dog came back to me happy and tired! She is communicative, sends photos and gave our golden retriever walks. I could tell by pictures she sent that River felt at home with her.”

“We love Nicole and feel Finn has the best care with her when we travel! It allows us to enjoy being away even long periods (10-14 days) and trust he’s in good hands.”

“Oskar had a great experience at Steve’s with his dogs! He was great with Oskar even with a little mishap he handled the situation wonderfully and Oskar played the whole time in his fenced in yard. Steve made sure to send lots of photos and updates on Oskars stay. Would definitely come back!”

“I can’t remember how many times Scotch has visited his “cousins” now but he absolutely loves his second family - which is what I’m 100% comfortable calling Morgan and her crew with how well cared for our furkid always is in their family’s care! He loves a trip to Morgan’s farm!”

“Our dogs were very happy at Irene's tidy home. Plenty of room to play indoors and out in her fenced yards. Good opportunity for our fur kids to socialize with other dogs in her care. We appreciated the frequent photos and updates.”

“Great communication, provided updates and pictures. Thanks so much for taking good care of my pup for 4 nights when I had a family emergency. He means so much to me and my kids. It was so helpful knowing he was left in good hands. I could tell you walked him a lot when they spelled out w.a.l.k in lieu of saying the word, he gets so excited. Apologies again for the text meant for my buddy…”

“Cristina is an excellent pet sitter who genuinely cares for animals. She took great care of my dog, ensuring his comfort and well-being throughout his stay with her family. We are very grateful for her attentive service and highly recommend her as a dog sitter.”

About: I’m a dog owner and lifelong animal lover with years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds and temperaments. I have a 7-year-old Shiba Inu of my own, so I understand the quirks of independent, strong-willed breeds. I work from home which means your dog gets consistent attention throughout the day rather than sitting alone for hours. I’m calm, reliable, and treat every dog like family. Your pup will be well exercised, well loved, and well cared for. I work fully remote from home, meaning your dog gets consistent company and attention throughout the entire day. No long hours alone. I’m available for boarding any day of the week and can accommodate last minute requests. Walks happen morning and evening, and as needed with plenty of downtime in between. Your dog will be staying in my clean, comfortable apartment where they’ll be treated like family. I’m an experienced dog owner with a Shiba Inu of my own, so I understand dog behavior and body language well. I keep a calm, structured environment and will always communicate with you about how your pup is doing. Your dog’s safety and comfort is my priority.

“Heather was great with communication and very understanding. I had a traveling delay due to bad weather and she was so accommodating. Heather made it super easy to adjust the boarding details. Nola loves being with Heather, and I feel comfortable leaving Nola in her care.”

“Murphy loves to be with Suzanne and her own dogs + the other dogs in her care. Suzanne is my 1st choice when I need to have a safe, loving home away from home.”

“We had an outstanding experience with Paulo. His communication was excellent from start to finish. He kept us updated with photos and messages, and it was clear that he really cared about our pet’s comfort and routine. We highly recommend Paulo to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible sitter!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Balm Grove home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Balm Grove.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Balm Grove sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
