“Lora Renee is great with Maggie! She responds quickly and is able to adapt when I make mistakes with the bookings! Our dog Maggie always seems tired after a visit with Lora Renee which is what we want! She is great and we will keep using her! Highly recommend Lora Renee”

“Lindsay was wonderful! She took a ton of photos of my cats and provided descriptive updates on their wellbeing while I was gone. She went above and beyond with her care, including daily subcutaneous injections for my elderly cat, and both of them were happy when I got home. Would definitely recommend her care!”
“Janine did a fantastic job caring for Wally while we were traveling! She was incredibly attentive, communicative, and patient throughout the entire process. Wally can be a little cautious and takes time to build trust with new people, and Janine was so understanding and willing to work with him at his own pace. Her patience, kindness, and dedication gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in great hands. We truly appreciate the care and effort she put into making Wally feel comfortable and safe. Janine is wonderful, and we will absolutely continue using her services. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter!”

About: I’ve been taking care of all types of dogs for over 10 years. I have a very friendly German Shorthair Pointer who loves to play! I’ve trained many puppies who have all grown up to be well-balanced dogs. The last 8 years I have worked as a special education teacher and recently took a role at an outdoor school working part time. This change has freed up my afternoons and I would love to fill that time helping families take care of their animals! My husband works from home and I work part-time as a preschool teacher with plenty of time to play/walk/watch your dogs! We are free on the weekends, too. We love dogs of all ages and sizes. We already take care of our very friendly 4 year old dog so adding more dogs to the schedule is no problem! Ozzy is high energy but the friendliest dog! He loves all dogs, cats, and kids. He is happy to play and run but is also happy to leave other dogs alone if they don’t want to play with him. He is not pushy or aggressive at all. No resource guarding troubles or problems sharing toys or water bowls. I have a fully fenced yard with lots of room to run and play outside. A very friendly GSP to help socialize or burn energy. I am comfortable crating your dog if that’s part of their routine and comfortable feeding and administering medicine as well. Our day is structured to not only meet Ozzy’s (GSP) needs but maintain behavioral expectations as well. To ensure safety, when other dogs visit, I constantly watch their interactions to ensure good behavior/social skills and will intervene to administer breaks or corrections when necessary. The house has ample room to separate dogs if needed.

“Skylar checked in on our pup while we were out of town. She was very candid about asking questions (i.e: it’s going to be snowing, should I close the doggy door? Etc...) which I really appreciated. We could tell our little girl was being well taken care of in our absence. We’d recommend her for sure!”

About: I've had dogs and cats my entire life! I honestly cannot remember there ever being a time I haven't had pets to care for and love on. My family currently has a Maltese mix, a Chihuahua, and two kitties who are 12 year old brothers. Our Chihuahua was recently diagnosed with Addisons Disease so I am currently learning how to help him live his best little life with his new diagnosis. I work a hybrid remote/in office schedule with a lot of flexibility. Weekends are even more flexible as those are not regular work days for me. I am happy to do multiple drop in daily visits or stay in your home to watch your sweet fur babies. Whatever works best for you!
About: I’ve grown up with at least one pet in the house. In the past I’ve watched over dogs with lots of medical care and also puppies as well. Im currently working a part-time job so i have lots of free time. My hours are all over the place sometimes, however i never work past 6pm I will treat them like on of my own. I can throw the bal with them, walk them around the neighborhood and give them all the belly rubs!
About: I'm back! After an injury sidelined me for a bit, I am back to it and better than ever! Let me reintroduce myself... I come from a long line of pet lovers, pet caregivers and guardians. My dad bred Collies most of my life, so we always had animals around to balance and enhance our lives. I grew up a military brat and later joined the military myself and because of this, our community was always in need of reliable, caring and attentive pet sitters as their owners were off taking care of business and the last thing they needed was to worry about their loved ones. I have even looked after some exotic animals to include snakes and lizards (not my fav to be honest), turtles, parrots, ferrets, a sugar baby, puffer fish, and tarantula, just to name a few that come to mind. I learned a lot of invaluable things from the engagement and interactions of my pets and others. Trust, acceptance, forgiveness, try to enjoy life and its surroundings, bring joy, don't sweat the small stuff, and to try and love unconditionally. Animals are incredible and yes, we really don't deserve them. My husband and I currently work from home on a very flexible schedule and my (4) dogs are with us 24/7 now. I am here for their every need and love it. I interact with all my dogs, I pay attention, and I like to have them play outdoors in a safe, fenced environment or go on walks to keep their minds and bodies active. Happy pet, happy life!
About: I love working with all types of animals all different shapes, sizes and personalities. I have lots of experience with all different type of animals and I love that I’m constantly learning new thing about them. Quality of care is very important to me, I really like to get to know the animals I’m working with and really making sure they feel safe and loved within my care. I’m currently not working I’m a stay at home mom so my schedule is pretty open, I do have a 1 year old so I will need to bring him with me while his dad is working I do everything in my power to give animals the best quality care, I go above and beyond to make sure they are properly taken care of! I treat all animals like my children so it’s very important to me that they are fed taken on walks have access to water and of course lots of play! if the owner has certain requests, I always make sure i follow the requests of how I’m caring for other peoples fur babies.
“Jordan really saved us when our sitter bailed last minute. He checked on our dog and played with him before we could get home. He was super communicative and creative with wearing our dog out.”

About: I am an avid pet lover and caregiver with many different breeds of animals. I have an innate ability with animals who sense my compassionate nature for their well being. I am trustworthy, honest, seeking part time supplemental income. I have a friend who owns a Bernice Mountain Dog, who I have dog sat for many times as well as taken on long walks and fed. I also helped raise two female Alaskan Huskies from pups. I taught them basic obedience training (how to shake, sit and lay down). I am available to work anytime Monday-Friday and anytime on Saturday and Sunday. I can do overnight stays during both week nights and weekends. I’m currently unemployed, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I’m available for boarding on weekdays and weekends and would love the opportunity to watch your pup. I will make sure to actively walk your dog, feed and play with them. If you have a fenced yard I will make sure your dog gets plenty of play time outside.
About: We have been caring for dogs for many years. Starting from puppies to full grown dogs over the years and know how to understand what a dog needs for a healthy, happy, and full life. Aharon works from home most of the time. With just one dog at home it would be easy to add another. It’s easy to add another to the pack! We take our dogs outside for exercise twice a day and have play sessions in between. We have 1800 sqft of interior space for the dogs to play and chill with a fenced backyard. The area is residential and lots of families around that know us.

About: I’ve always had a love for animals, especially dogs! 🐾 I understand that every dog has their own unique personality, energy level, and needs. Whether your furry friend loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply relaxing, I want to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, especially when working with dogs who may experience anxiety, nervousness, or excitement around new people and environments. I treat every pet with the same love, attention, and respect I would want for my own. My goal is to provide a positive experience for your furry companion while giving you peace of mind knowing they’re in caring hands! ❤️ As a pet parent myself, caring for animals is already a natural part of my daily routine! 🐾 I enjoy maintaining an organized and flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to each furry friend. I offer drop-in visits and dog walking, whether your pet needs a refreshing walk, a potty break, feeding, playtime, or simply some extra companionship while you’re away. I understand the importance of consistency and will do my best to accommodate your pet’s usual routine and individual needs. My goal is to provide dependable, attentive care while giving you peace of mind throughout the day! ❤️ Your pet’s safety, happiness, and comfort are always my top priorities! 🐾 I understand that welcoming someone into your home and trusting them with your furry family member is a big decision. During drop-in visits, I carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, potty breaks, playtime, and any special routines your pet may have. For dog walks, I prioritize safe leash handling, awareness of our surroundings, and walks suited to your dog’s age, energy level, and comfort. I respect your home and your pet’s personal space, especially when caring for shy, anxious, or senior animals. I always aim to create a calm, positive experience without forcing interactions. I’m also happy to provide photos and updates during each visit so you know your furry companion is safe, comfortable, and receiving plenty of love and attention! ❤️
About: Hi there my name is Katie and I’ve been pet sitting/ housesitting for about 8 years now. I love what I do and I go above and beyond when it comes to taking care of your pet(s) and home. Not only do I provide top quality care and lots of cuddles and love for your pet(s) but I also bring in packages and mail, do walks, water any plants, take trash and recycle out to the curb, give plenty of updates with pictures if requested, and finally I will leave your home better, than when I first arrived. Im still available for housesitting this Christmas and I’m still available for housecalls so I would reach out soon to make sure that your home base is covered while you are away! Thank you to everyone ☺️ I will have the capability to work around the needs and wants that you have for your animals because I’m self employed with the ability to design my own schedule. I’ve been doing this for a long time and one thing I know is to go by the comfort level of the pets. Lots of times I’ve worked with rescue dogs who have a hard time meeting new people. In cases like those I follow the dogs lead. I am in their space, therefore trust must be built, some more slowly but in the end, I aim to keep everyone safe and happy.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
