“Lulu was great in communicating and sent pictures to keep me up to date. Dogs seemed to really warm up to her. They are a bit anxious and she did a great job of making sure they had some activity outside to burn off some steam as well as cuddles to make them feel secure. We will definitely use her again and recommend her to others”

“Jess was great! She came and did a meet and greet with us and Riley was excited to meet her. She was on time, friendly, and took great care of our pup (and kitty) while we were out of town for a wedding! She sent daily updates, was super communicative, and did a great job making us feel better our first time leaving our fur babies. We’ll definitely be using her in the future!”

“I had great experience with Vanessa , she is very friendly, provide great care for my dogs, and she respond my message very fast .I’m so lucky to have sitter like her , will recommend to everyone .”

“Caitlynn did a great job with our 3 pups! Our senior girl is on meds and wearing diapers due to kidney disease and Caitlynn was able to provide the advanced level of attention and care that she needs. We had been reluctant to go away at all, and it gave us such peace of mind that Caitlynn was comfortable with her medical needs.”
“Ella was fantastic with our two dogs while we were away. She checked in regularly and sent lots of photos. It was great to have the peace of mind that our dogs were well cared for and having fun!”

“Katie was fantastic! She clearly loves cats and even looked in on our chickens making sure they were happy. She came exactly on time and gave Charlie lots of attention as well as feeding him and scooping the litter box. We couldn't have been happier having her at our house!”

“Emma did an amazing job caring for our three pups in our home while we were on vacation! She was always quick to respond whenever I checked in or had a question, which gave me so much peace of mind. When I realized I needed to extend our booking by a day at the last minute (my mistake!), she happily accommodated the change without any hassle. Not only did she take wonderful care of our dogs, but she also checked on our chickens and collected their eggs. She was a respectful and considerate houseguest, leaving our home in great shape. Her experience working with animals really showed, and I felt completely confident that everyone was in great hands while we were away. Thanks so much, Emma!”

“This is our second time having Lianna dog and cat sit. She was incredibly thoughtful and checked in regularly throughout our trip, including checking about medication for our dog. We loved getting the photos of our pets while away; it makes leaving a bit easier knowing we can count on Lianna to keep them company.”

About: I've had pets in the past and love caring for them and playing with them. Grew up with a cat, had a dog and coserved a cat with my wife. Because we may move some time internationally, we haven't wanted to make a long term commitment, be we would love to be grandpetparents where we help out by babysitting while people need to travel pet free for a short time. I work full time but from home several days a week. My son, who loves animals will be around on days I am not at home. We would welcome any pets as part of the family. They can cuddle with us on the couch and play out in the yard or chill on our screened in porch. Unfortunately, we cant care forndigs for more than 5 or 6 days as we arent physically able to care for them.
About: Over the last 7 years I have worked for many veterinary hospitals, including general practice and emergency medicine. With an associates degree in veterinary science, I’m well rounded to meet the needs of your fur babies! Working with animals Is what I love to do. Do you have special medical needs for your pet? No problem! I am very experienced with all forms of medications. Working for two veterinary hospitals, medicating animals is a daily need to know skill! Have a high energy pup that loves the outdoors? Rest assure they will be tired after some fun play time outside! I am very active and would love to bring your pup for a walk around the block/trails/dog park or play ball in the backyard! Need someone to stop by while you’re gone? I’m a great comfort friend and would love to help pass the time with your pet while you’re out for the day! I'm also very accommodating to those pets that may have more specific requests (anxious, does not like other dogs, food aggression, behavioral concerns, etc) I want to make sure each pet has fun but is also safe! I’d be happy to stop by before and after work (7am-5pm). I am fully available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday's. Of course I can accommodate and work around schedules as well. Small fenced in back yard along with daily walks over 30 minutes. Just a short drive away from multiple trails / parks in the area!
“Rebecca is wonderful! She was easy to stay in touch with, responsive and so pleasant. Rosie really liked her right away and Rebecca handled Rosie's exuberance and energy so well. We felt very comfortable leaving Rosie in Rebecca's care, we received updates that they were doing well and we can home to a happy dog and a clean house. We'd be thrilled to work with Rebecca again in the future!”

“Shane was amazing! He kept in contact with us through out the day, sent us a check up pic and offered to stay later if needed. He even won over the trust of our shyest dog Maggie which is hard to do! I strongly recommend him for your pets!!!”

Gracelyn did a great job caring for our pups! We discovered the day we left that Mari had diarrhea – – probably from eating something in our yard – – but Gracelyn took all that in stride and fixed rice and chicken for her until it cleared up. Zinc, our 15 1/2 year-old dog, ran out of medicine halfway through our time away, and Gracelyn took care of contacting the vet and getting the refill he needed. The house was well maintained and the pups were happy. We plan to engage Gracelyn in the future and we highly recommend her to care for your pups as well.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bacon Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bacon Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bacon Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
