Hi, I’m Sam! I’m a 25 year old lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for all kinds of animals. I grew up on a farm, so animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have experience with dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and more! I’m the proud owner of a horse I bred and raised myself named Doc, a miniature horse named Chimichanga, and my heeler/coonhound mix, Wesson. I also completed a 3-year veterinary science program in high school and worked in a veterinary hospital, giving me valuable experience with animal health, behavior, and safe handling. For the past five years, I’ve worked as an exercise rider, riding racehorses along the East Coast, with Saratoga as my summer home base. Caring for animals is truly a huge part of who I am, both professionally and personally. Please keep in mind that I do not provide constant 24/7 care. Due to my work schedule, I leave very early in the morning and typically return around 11 a.m. or noon. Because of this, dogs who do not experience significant separation anxiety are the best fit for my care. I’ll always treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. Their safety, happiness, and comfort are my top priorities, and I would love the opportunity to care for your furry family members. I hope to meet you and your pets soon!

We were very disappointed with our experience. Had we known the sitter's actual schedule, we would have hired someone else. When we met before our trip, we were told she worked at the track until 10:00 a.m. each morning, which worked for us. However, she did not mention that she frequently returned to work in the afternoons, leaving our dogs alone for extended periods. Our dogs are accustomed to us working from home and are not used to being left alone for 4–5+ hours at a time. On Friday, the dogs were left alone for an additional five hours during the evening, around the time they normally eat dinner. On Sunday, our Ring camera showed her stopping by for only about five minutes (approximately 10:25–10:30 a.m.) after being gone all morning, and then leaving again. She was supposed to remain at the house until noon because we weren't returning from our trip until around 2:30 p.m. She never contacted us to let us know she was leaving early or to discuss any change in plans. We also returned to find our home left much messier than we had left it. Reliability and communication are incredibly important when trusting someone with your pets and your home. Had we been given an accurate picture of her availability from the beginning, we would have made different arrangements. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not use her services again.
Samantha did a FANTASTIC job with our two spoiled Poodles while we traveled to Montana & Jackson Hole. We had a total peace of mind knowing she was there for our fur babies, which is not an easy task. Would HIGHLY recommend her, over & over again.
Samantha took fantastic care of my cat while I was out of town. She sent frequent pictures and communicated with me regularly. She left my apartment very clean and I came home to a very happy cat.
We really appreciated having Sam as our pet/house sitter. She went above and beyond getting mail for us and checking the chickens. The boys loved her- the next morning of our being back home Mookie went to the room Sam was in to look for her! She sent photos and shared how they were doing. Highly recommend Sam!

We were really nervous to leave our pets while on vacation. Sam exceeded our expectations and gave us peace of mind. She sent regular updates and pictures, and we came home to a clean space and happy pets. I highly recommend her!

Schedule
I work at the racetrack in the mornings, but I am available every afternoon, night, and before I go into work in the morning. I am very reliable!

Safety, trust & environment
If it’s a fenced in yard, I go outside and watch the dog(s) to make sure they went potty and had adequate play time. If they need walked on the leash, I make sure they have enough time to go potty, and see new sights and sounds!

A typical day
I love to go on walks in their neighborhood and engage them in some fun indoor/outdoor playtime with their favorite toys! I love giving them the time and attention that they deserve!
