“Kanan has a new auntie and uncle for sure! LaDonna and her husband Andy are the best. They are the perfect kind of people who you can trust to look after your babies. They made sure Kanan was attended to and made to feel like he was a member of the family. I enjoyed receiving reassurances through pictures and texts that Kanan was adapting and doing well. No more looking for me when I need sitters in the future. I hit the jackpot on the first time using Rover. I feel so blessed for me and Kanan!”

“Ray E was amazing. We had a last minute trip and had to get our Nitro a sitter. Ray E was able to accommodate us the same day. I was able to keep in touch and get updates. When I picked him up he was super clean and happy. Which tells me he was very well taken care of. My wife and I will continue to call on Ray E for anytime Nitro needs a sitter. We highly recommend Ray E.”

“Valerie and her family took excellent care of our fur baby, Yuriorkis. They were so flexible with our drop off and pick up times as we came from out of town. Will definitely contact Valerie if we are back in Georgia.”

“Awesome sitter! They took great care of my two dogs for five days and kept me updated throughout the stay with daily messages and updates on how they were doing. It was clear that my dogs were happy and well taken care of, which made me feel much more comfortable being away from them. No complaints at all, and I would absolutely book with them again when we need a sitter. Highly recommend!”

“She was reliable, kind, flexible and knew how to take care of my dog! Her place was perfect for dogs!!!! I will definitely ask her next time when I am out of town for work! Thank you so much Kim!!!”

“Our pups had a stay somewhere else, and it was not a good experience for them. Came home with ear and eye infections. Wanted to try a private sitter this time worked out quite well. Cindy was very informative during our vacation with pictures and how they were doing. I would definitely book her again.”

“Brodie seemed to enjoy his time with Dylan, his dogs, and his young son ! Frequent updates and pictures were sent. They have a big backyard perfect for for playing fetch and running around !”
About: I’ve adored animals my entire life. I have a lot of hands on experience with everything from cats and dogs to birds and exotics. I work from home full time, so I typically have full availability. I have 3 kitties and a small dachshund. My cats are friendly and will retreat to their own space when they want to be alone. My dachshund is friendly and likes cats and other small dogs. He is shy/fearful around large dogs, which is why I’m only taking small dogs. All my animals are up to date on vaccines and healthy. I’m excited to take on caring for other small dogs. I work from home so I'm pretty much always home and ready to take on a cuddly baby or two! Would love to meet yours. :) I have a fenced yard and a pet friendly environment. Indoor and outdoor fun available to adapt to each dog’s specific energy needs. I can administer oral meds if needed. I have experience with all kinds of animals and can adapt to the situation as needed.
About: As a dog mom to two pups, ages 9 and 3, caring for dogs is something that is already part of my everyday routine! I watch my parents' dog daily and occasionally I care for my sister's dog overnight, so I'm very comfortable having extra furry family members around. As a stay-at-home mom who homeschools, I'm home throughout the day to provide companionship, attention, and plenty of love. Our home sits on nearly an acre with a fenced in backyard in our neighborhood, giving pups plenty of room to explore, play, and enjoy supervised outdoor time. I understand how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your dog with someone else. I'll make sure to follow their usual routines, send photo updates, and do my best to make sure this is their home away from home while you're away! Being a stay-at-home mom gives me the flexibility to incorporate pet care naturally into my day. I also homeschool my oldest and my youngest attends half day pre-k. This gives me plenty of opportunities for potty breaks/walking, playtime, attention, and relaxation. I enjoy keeping a comfortable, predictable routine while also adjusting to each dog's individual needs. Whether your pup is full of energy or prefers a slower pace, I'll make sure they get the care and companionship they are used to. I want every dog who stay with us to feel like part of the family, and to feel at home. I know every pup has their own personality, preferences, and routine, so I will do my best to make their stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible. I'll make sure to follow each owner's instructions for feeding, sleeping, and daily care. Our home is located in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood where we can enjoy leisurely walks in addition to time playing and exploring in our fenced backyard. I'm happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand if that gives you extra peace of mind, but I also understand that last-minute plan happens! I enjoy sharing photos and updates throughout your pup's stay so you can relax knowing they're in good hands.
About: I have years of experience with taking care of dogs from pups to grown adult dogs. I display patience and love to each and every dog. I am enlisted in the Air Force. I do typically have a good amount of free time for the doggies. If my schedule shows available then definitely shoot me a message! My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I understand every pet has their own personality and routine, so I take the time to follow your instructions closely. I can guarantee that your pet will be provided plenty of affection, attention, and exercise while making sure your pet always has fresh water and a clean, safe environment. Trust between the pet owner and sitter is everything, and I intend to gain the owners approval through exceptional pet care.

“Julia was great! She was responsive and kept me posted throughout my pets stay with her. She was always available and quick to answer my questions. She sent me pictures of my puppy everyday and kept me up to date with everything. She made sure my puppy was well taken care of. She was even kind enough to meet with me a few days before my pet stayed with. My dog has separation anxiety but she did great with Julia. Thank you so much Julia for making this experience as smooth as possible.”

I have a precious little White Maltipoo Dog named Casper, and a little female Yorkshire Terrier named Chloe. Sometimes my Grand Dog, Cash, comes over to visit and play. He is a Labradoodle. I (and my husband -Ray) have raised a number of dogs throughout the years from, Toy Poodles, Miniature Pinchers, to Chows. We are partial to the smaller, lap dogs who love to be petted and cuddled so they will feel safe while their owners are away. My little fur guest can choose to go outside a few times a day or just stay inside if they like. I am flexible to the needs of my little fur guests. I will feed the pets according to their accustomed schedule and take them outside when needed. I have a very nice, secured fenced back yard for running and playing ball. And of course, fresh water is always available. Please bring their collar and leash for their walk time. Some people even bring Mom or Dads piece of clothing (like at shirt) to sleep with so they will feel close to them, while they are away. I appreciate your business and I am here to serve your pet so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. I am retired and stay at Home unless I need to run a short errand etc. My home is quiet and peaceful. I have a glass front door if your furbaby wants to lay or sit and look out the door. About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats my entire life, including raising them from babies. All sizes of dogs from little Yorkies to large Great Pyrenees. My house is full of children who love animals! I’ve always had pets in my life and caring for them fits easily into my daily routine. As a full-time working mom, I’m up early every day and naturally build pet care into my schedule with morning walks, feeding times, and plenty of affection and play. I truly enjoy keeping animals on a consistent, loving routine and making them feel comfortable, safe, and cared for, just like family. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment for every pet in my care. My home is clean and pet-friendly, with a fenced yard for play and fresh air. I’m attentive to each pet’s unique needs and follow owner instructions carefully. I can crate dogs if needed, maintain feeding and walk routines, and make sure they always feel secure, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.
About: Most of my experience comes from caring for my senior beagle, who I’ve raised since he was a puppy. He still has plenty of energy, so I’m very used to daily walks, playtime, and keeping a steady routine. I study from home most days, so I’m around a lot and can give dogs regular breaks, attention, and a calm place to hang out. I’m a medical student who studies from home most days, so pet care fits naturally into my routine. I already take my own dog out for daily walks and breaks, so adding another dog to that schedule works well. I can easily fit in regular walks, feeding times, playtime, and checkins throughout the day. I live in a pet-friendly with plenty of open areas to walk. Inside, I keep a clean, supervised, and cozy home. I treat every dog gently and carefully, just like I treat my own.

“Kayla was amazing! She watched my dog for a few days and kept me updated every single day, which gave me real peace of mind. This was my first time using a sitter, and she made the whole process feel easy and completely stress-free. I could tell my dog was well taken care of and in good hands. I’ll definitely be using her services again in the future!”

About: I was raised with cats and dogs my whole life. We have had our fur baby since he was 6 weeks old and he is now 4 years old. His name is Chunk. He loves children, animals his best friend is Baxter he is 12 years old and he is a Schnauzer. I have had a cleaning business for a little over 10 years and even tho is was not apart of my job I started falling in love with my customers babies. I will love on them, take them out to potty, give them fresh water and treats and clean up any messes they have made and then I decided to start offering to take care of them for the customers if they needed a sitter. So I take care of both cats and dogs. I never knew that I could love these babies as much as I love my family, I consider all the fur babies my family. My Chunk Chunk is my very best friend. I am his person. I potty trained him, I taught him to sit, shake, lay, and when I use the word calm if he gets super excited then he will automatically sit and behave. He is very playful with other animals. He has never been aggressive or biten anyone bc all he has ever known is love. If you choose me to take care of your babies know that I will take care of them and love them as if they were my own children. We are animal lovers and would love to meet and have more fur babies in out lives. I clean houses part time. So I am very flexible when it comes to your babies routine. When I speak with the customer I always like for the customer to write a list of the babies daily routine and then I have a filing system set up with all your babies information so we make sure everything is done when it supposed to be and then I set a reminder and a timer for breakfast time, lunch time, dinner time, snack time, and if medication is needed as well. I am super ocd so I have a folder for every baby to keep records of everything. If your baby is at my home we live in a 3 bedroom apartment they are free to run around anywhere and they are allowed on the couch and the bed. Alot of times we sit on the couch or floor with them and watch TV and get the puppy toys out and let them play. We take the puppies out multiple times a day to go potty or to go walk and let them play outside. If I watch them at your home I do like a list of instructions and what they're normal routine is so I can keep them comfortable and happy and I want them to feel safe with me. I like to learn they're personalities so I can learn who they are, what they like and what they don't like. I am one who loves to hold them alot and pet them.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Avondale home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Avondale.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Avondale sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in GA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
