“Donna was absolutely incredible taking care of my cat and house sitting! I came back to a clean home and happy guy :) she went absolutely above and beyond and was very communicative and sent me so many pictures of my cat and his food and litter so I could be at ease knowing he was safe and healthy! Will be booking her every time I go away!”

“Rowan was great! Our two dogs were very calm and happy when we got home. We would definitely recommend Rowan and would be glad to have them sit our dogs again!”

“Sam did a fantastic job taking care of my puppy and my cat. My dog is not the easiest- lots of energy and a bit reactive on walks- but Sam came over for a meet and greet beforehand to learn how to walk with her and what training commands I use when she reacts so I knew my babies were in good hands. My home was clean when I cam back, my pets were happy, and I enjoyed getting lots of updates and photos while I was away. Thanks Sam!”

“Zephrine did an amazing job housesitting with our three dogs. She kept us super informed and was very responsive. We will definitely be booking with her on the regular.”

“Aaron was wonderful and truly loved spending time with Gracie and Roxie! Aaron sent pictures and updates daily, which was greatly appreciated! He let me know that Roxie took a little bit of time to warm up but then was herself with being a big snuggler, and that Gracie did great on her walks. Last time we had made this trip we had an 8 hour delay, and asked Aaron ahead of time if something like this happened again could he stay, and he said he could. Luckily all went well and we were able to arrive home on time to two very happy and very well cared for pups! Will definitely use Aaron again!!”

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover who grew up with dogs and cats my entire life. I am a proud cat owner who understands that pets are family. I've spent years dog-sitting for friends and caring for dogs with different personalities and energy levels. Whether your pup loves walks, playtime, or cuddles, I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. I can't wait to meet you and your furry friend! I currently work at a dentist office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Mondays and Friday I get off at 2:30pm at the latest. While Tuesdays and Thursdays I get off at 5:30 at the latest. Free during the weekends most of the time. I care for pets in their own home by maintaining their normal routine and making sure they feel comfortable and secure while you're away. I'll follow all feeding, walking, playtime, and medication instructions, provide plenty of attention and affection, and keep their environment clean and safe. I also send regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for.
“Susan took great care of Sullivan while out of town for one night. She successfully administered his medication, gave him lots of cuddles & outside time & provided pictures as well as updates. She was also very willing to help out with a last-minute request. We definitely plan to use Susan again in the future!”

About: I have had dogs and many different animals my whole life. I have also worked as a pet technician in a dog daycare for a while so I have experience with small medium and large dogs. I have a lot of open availability and I make time for pets. I have a big heart for animals and this is what I love to do! I am currently not working, I am taking college classes online so I have a flexible schedule. I am very dependable and will make sure your dog has a good time during the whole visit. I am very overly cautious when it comes to watching dogs mainly because I have 2 of my own and make sure they don't eat anything they aren't supposed. I know how crazy some dogs can be and they need to be watched at all times. I also do potty breaks every 2 hours to prevent any accidents and I make sure the dogs don't get too hot on walks.
“McKenna stayed at our home for two nights and took amazing care of our dog. It was such a relief knowing our pup was comfortable in his own space and getting plenty of attention and love. We got regular updates and photos, which really put our minds at ease while we were away. We came home to a happy dog and a spotless house!!”

About: I've spent years caring for animals with a variety of personalities, ages, and needs. Living with a Great Dane has made me very comfortable handling large and giant breeds, and caring for my Labrador through her 17th year gave me plenty of experience with the extra patience and attention senior dogs need. I'm also experienced in administering insulin injections and following medication schedules for pets with medical needs. No matter your animal’s age, size, or routine, I'll make sure they receive attentive, compassionate care and feel right at home while you're away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I have a flexible schedule that allows me to make time for the pets in my care. I typically finish work by 3 PM, and I also have two days each week where I work from home, giving me extra availability and flexibility throughout the day. When needed, I can also use my lunch break to check in on your pets and make sure they’re doing well. I’m available for evening and weekend care as well, allowing me to provide consistent attention, companionship, and support for your pet’s daily routine. I provide pet care in my client’s home, where I can help pets feel comfortable by keeping their familiar routines and surroundings. I understand that every pet has their own needs, so I focus on providing attentive, reliable care that includes feeding, playtime, walks, medication needs, and plenty of companionship. I’m available for weekday visits, evenings, and weekends, and I also offer daily walks and evening walks to help keep pets happy, active, and well cared for while their owners are away.
About: I have taken care of animals since i was a child! I personally had 4+ dogs/cats at a time growing up since I was 5 years old and even now! As a stay-at-home mom, I’m home the majority of the day and night, which allows me to give consistent attention and supervision. I only step out briefly for school drop-off/pick-up or short errands, typically no more than a few hours total. Your dog will not be left alone for long stretches and will be treated like part of our daily routine, with regular potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of interaction throughout the day. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. We live on 2 fully fenced acres, providing plenty of secure space to run and explore while always supervised. When indoors, pets are part of our family environment — relaxing, playing, or cuddling in a calm and clean home. I carefully follow each dog’s routine, feeding schedule, and any special instructions to ensure they feel safe and at ease. My goal is to create a structured but loving environment where your pup feels right at home.
“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jordyn! From the moment we connected, it was clear how much she genuinely loves and understand animals. My golden retriever can be a little anxious when I’m away, but she went above and beyond to make him feel safe, happy, and completely at ease. I received regular updates, photos, and little notes that truly gave me peace of mind—it was obvious he wasn’t just being watched, he was being cared for like family. Jordyn paid attention to every detail, from his routines to his favorite toys, and even spent extra time playing and giving him the affection he thrives on. When I came home, I could tell immediately how comfortable and well cared for he had been. It’s such a relief knowing I have someone I can fully trust with my dog. I would absolutely recommend Jordyn to anyone looking for a dependable, compassionate, and truly exceptional pet sitter!”

“Natalie was awesome! She was auper communicative with us while we were away. Keeping us updated on our Driggsy while we were away. Was very respectful of our home and she tooke great care of our big girl!”

Julia was amazing! She went above and beyond for me and my fur babies, she was very understanding and accommodating for all of their little quirks! Both of my pups have separation anxiety and she was able to keep them distracted and happy. They’re top favorite things consist of playing and food, she not only was amazing playing with them (they can be quite rambunctious) but she even went as far as getting them both new toys and treats! No doubt will be rebooking any future trips with Julia!

Anjali was amazing with our two pups! She house sat for us while we were out of town and I know the boys felt so comfortable with her here. She took care of our home like it was her own. The pups have allergies and she did amazing at accommodating them and taking really great care of them. We will definitely book with her again.

Donna was absolutely incredible taking care of my cat and house sitting! I came back to a clean home and happy guy :) she went absolutely above and beyond and was very communicative and sent me so many pictures of my cat and his food and litter so I could be at ease knowing he was safe and healthy! Will be booking her every time I go away!

Bridgette showed up on time and was great with my Pups. They loved her and missed her the minute she left. One of my pups is terrified of fireworks but Bridgette went the extra mile to comfort him and protect him from the fireworks. We will definitely be using Bridgette again.

Victoria waa very good with Lucy. She waa able to give her meds and adhere to her feeding regimen. She sent pics of Lucy at different times even when walking her which she loves. She also washed our dishes up and kept things tidy. Will definitely call her again when we need a sitter.

Sara absolutely exceeded all expectations! We are always nervous to leave our pup with a new sitter, but she went above and beyond to make both our dog and us feel as comfortable as possible. Annie is not the aleast easiest dog to sit for, and we came home to a very happy pup and a spotless house. We highly recommend Sara and will certainly be booking her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Avenue of Oaks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Avenue of Oaks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Avenue of Oaks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
