“Jordyn was absolutely AMAZING! She consistenly provided updates along with pictures, was very responsive during the entire booking process and beyond. We have 2 pitties that are used to having someone home with them at all times and Jordyn made sure that they had a great balance of outdoor time, snuggle time, etc! We will definitely be calling on Jordyn to watch our pups again. If you are looking for someone who is extremely kind, reliable and attentive, then you need to contact her!”

“Amaris did a great job taking care of our dogs. She spent lots of time with them and sent pics every day. She will definitely be our go to sitter from now on. We really appreciate her genuine love for our pets.”

About: I love pets and I’m very flexible. I enjoy dogs and cats of all kinds. I stay home with my children so I can make my own schedule. I live in Summer’s Corner. I’m a stay at home mom with family members who have pet allergies. I’m looking for flexible work outside of my home, that can be done to fit my schedule and benefit yours. I live in Summer’s Corner. I have three small children. I don’t offer boarding, but have a lot of walking availability close by.

About: I have lots of experience with taking care of dogs and cats. I am comfortable taking care of dogs of all sizes. I have always had dogs in my house growing up, and I know the responsibilities it takes to care for an animal. I will treat your pet as if they are my own. I have taken care of many kinds of pets from puppies and cats to elderly dogs. I have been pet sitting since high school and know what is required for a happy pet. I am very detail oriented and will make sure your pet has all their needs met. This includes potty breaks, food, water, medications, play time, and quality time. I can take your dog for a walk, do a few drop in visits, or do an overnight depending on your pet’s needs or what you are comfortable with. I am currently a rising junior at CofC studying Biology. I will be home (Summerville, SC) for the summer and can take care of pets all throughout the day. During the school year (Downtown Charleston) I can do drop in’s or walks in the morning before my classes, and after my classes in the afternoon, evenings, or overnight. I have an elderly golden lab and a 3 year old Weimaraner. I help take care of them by spending lots of time with them, taking them on walks, providing medication, feeding them, fetching, and giving them lots of love and support. I am very familiar with energetic dogs, and I know that they need lots of attention.
About: I'm excited to meet you and help take care of your furry loved ones! I have two cats of my own and love spending time with animals. I look forward to learning your pets' routines and quirks and, of course, capturing some photos to share while you're away. I know the hardest part of being away from home is missing your favorite family members and I will care for them as if they're my own. In addition to dogs, I have experience with cats, hamsters, rats, mice, chinchillas, guinea pigs, lizards, turtles, and small snakes. Whatever your need, I've got you! I currently have a very flexible schedule. I'm available for one off visits and would also love to become a regular contact for folks who need to travel often or work long hours. It takes a village to care for our families and I'm happy to help. While your home is the safest and most comfortable place for your pet, I'm sure they'll be missing you while you're away. I understand it can take time for them to open up and be comfortable with someone new. I am patient, gentle, and quiet. Your pets' comfort is my first priority. In addition to their play and care routines, I'm happy to water your plants, check your mail, or help in any other way I can.
“Renee and Donovan did amazing for a first house sit! They went above and beyond with meeting my requests and for my fur babies. They truly love animals and made me feel comfortable leaving my dog and cat in their care while I went abroad for a vacation. I recommend their services, they will not disappoint!”

“Aaron was wonderful and truly loved spending time with Gracie and Roxie! Aaron sent pictures and updates daily, which was greatly appreciated! He let me know that Roxie took a little bit of time to warm up but then was herself with being a big snuggler, and that Gracie did great on her walks. Last time we had made this trip we had an 8 hour delay, and asked Aaron ahead of time if something like this happened again could he stay, and he said he could. Luckily all went well and we were able to arrive home on time to two very happy and very well cared for pups! Will definitely use Aaron again!!”

“Sara was awesome with my kitty Wilson! She sent me lots of pictures and updates throughout her stay. I could tell he was getting so much love! Our apartment was clean upon our arrival home and Wilson was one happy camper. I highly recommend Sara!”

“Once again another easy stay with Jenny watching our two senior cats and 1.5 year old puppy. Very easy to communicate with, the animals are always happy and healthy. She always takes out the trash and strips the sheets at well. Thank you! 😊”

I could not have been happier with Mary Kay! Leaving my pets is always stressful for both they and I, but she provided constant updates and adorable photos. Her communications were excellent, keeping me calm and comfortable about leaving my pets at home. The house was in great shape when I returned, and my pets were happy and relaxed. Highly recommend booking Mary Kay for top-notch care I certainly plan to be a repeat customer.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jordyn! From the moment we connected, it was clear how much she genuinely loves and understand animals. My golden retriever can be a little anxious when I’m away, but she went above and beyond to make him feel safe, happy, and completely at ease. I received regular updates, photos, and little notes that truly gave me peace of mind—it was obvious he wasn’t just being watched, he was being cared for like family. Jordyn paid attention to every detail, from his routines to his favorite toys, and even spent extra time playing and giving him the affection he thrives on. When I came home, I could tell immediately how comfortable and well cared for he had been. It’s such a relief knowing I have someone I can fully trust with my dog. I would absolutely recommend Jordyn to anyone looking for a dependable, compassionate, and truly exceptional pet sitter!

FAQs for House Sitting - Ashley Retreat
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Ashley Retreat on Rover is $48.15 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,666 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ashley Retreat. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ashley Retreat walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ashley Retreat maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ashley Retreat choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ashley Retreat. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
