Drew was a wonderful house sitter and guest! We had morning update including pictures each day and came home to a tidy house. He’s very loving with animals and I knew from the first meet and greet our Gideon would be in great hands. Thanks again, Drew! Will definitely be booking you again for future trips without our pup!

She worked wonderfully with our brand new puppy and was more than happy to work around our schedules. Our puppy adores her and we could tell he had a lot of fun hanging out with her! She is a fantastic listener when it comes to any house rules you may have, and really tries to get to know the dog and the people. I highly recommend her for your next booking, you will not be disappointed!

We had a great experience with Morgan! She stayed late when my flight was delayed. I came back to a neat apartment and a happy dog. Completely different experience then boarding. I received daily updates while I was on my trip. She was able to accommodate: - elderly dog - potty pads - car rides - leash reactivity - oral medication - small animal care (amphibians)

About: ~~ I’m the perfect sitter for your anxious, mellow or chill or senior dog as I have a calm and peaceful presence. ~~ What sets me apart is that I work remotely, which allows me to be present with pets throughout the day rather than leaving them alone for long periods. This gives me the flexibility to respond to their needs, routines, and energy levels. I’ve had experience with animals for many years. I previously owned a black lab named Aurora, and I currently have an orange cat of my own. I also regularly help care for my mother’s two dogs — a Maltese Schnauzer and a Golden Retriever — and I’ve looked after my sister’s dog multiple times in the past as well. Animals tend to gravitate toward me because I pay close attention to their body language, boundaries, and personalities. I’m very mindful of their cues and comfort levels, which helps me understand what they need and how they’re feeling. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I’d be happy to give your pet the attention, care, and companionship they deserve. If I’m housesitting, I’m practically readily available. I work a full-time remote job that will still allow me to be present and handle the tasks needed to care for your pets. I would have time to see them in intervals multiple times a day with no problem and with plenty of time for play. But if drop in visits, I can do 2-3 drop in’s. 1st at 7:30-8:30a, 2nd at 11a-1:30p and 3rd at 4:30p-10p - depending on my work schedule and the daily demand. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat the space with the understanding that it is first and foremost your pet’s home and safe environment. I’m very respectful of both the home and the routines that your pet is used to. I keep the environment calm, clean, and consistent so your pet feels comfortable while you’re away. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and house rules. I also avoid loud noise or disruptions and aim to maintain the same peaceful atmosphere your pet is used to. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, relaxed, and cared for, while also treating your home with the same respect I would my own.

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I’ve cared for pets of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. I’ve owned dogs myself, helped care for neighbors’ pets, and walked friends’ dogs over the years. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll treat yours with the same love, patience, and attention I’d want for my own. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to be available for walks, drop-ins, daycare, and overnight care throughout the week. I understand pets thrive on consistency, and I’m happy to work with your routine to make sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a secure fenced yard and live in a safe south-side neighborhood with plenty of room for walks and playtime. Whether your pet loves to be active or prefers quiet cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel at home and cared for like family.

Bree went above and beyond for our three animals and our house. Everything felt clean and fresh when we got home, which is an ultimate luxury after being away for several days. Genuinely the best person I've booked on Rover. Bree gave lots of updates and had great questions before and during her stay. Can't wait to book her again!

We were thrilled with our first experience with Rover and Laurelai. Kirby was well cared for and clearly given lots of love. In the past when we have left him for a trip, we come home to a very anxious boy, but not this time! We received some photos and video which was a nice touch. It was wonderful to not worry about his care while we enjoyed our travels. Will definitely use both Rover and Laurelai again.

About: I’m a dedicated animal lover who relocated to Springfield, MO about a year ago, and I’m excited to continue caring for pets in my new community. I previously volunteered with the SPCA, where I gained hands-on experience working with animals of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I pride myself on being responsible, communicative, and positive—qualities that help both pets and their owners feel comfortable and confident in my care. Whether your pet is high-energy and loves to play or prefers a slower pace, I’m happy to meet their needs. I’m very active and enjoy engaging pets with activities like fetch, walks, and interactive play. Having grown up with multiple dogs and cats, I’m very familiar with daily care routines and animal behavior. I also have experience reinforcing basic commands such as sit, stay, wait, leash walking, roll over, and fetch. In addition, I’m comfortable with bathing and providing routine grooming care based on your pet’s specific needs and breed requirements. Building trust is extremely important to me. I use clear communication and patience to create a strong bond with every pet, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and cared for—just like they would with family. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I already lead an active, structured lifestyle. I make time each day for walks, outdoor activity, and maintaining a consistent schedule, which allows me to easily accommodate feeding times, potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and check-ins. I’m flexible throughout the week and can adjust my schedule to meet each pet’s specific needs, whether that means early morning walks, midday visits, evening care, or extra attention for pets who need more companionship and activity. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so caring for them is something I look forward to rather than simply fitting into my schedule. I tailor my care to each pet’s unique routine, personality, and needs, whether I’m in my home or caring for them in a client’s home. My goal is to keep their environment as comfortable, consistent, and stress-free as possible. In a client’s home, I follow all provided instructions closely—this includes feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any specific routines your pet is used to. I also make sure your home is respected and kept clean while you’re away. I provide regular updates, photos, and communication so you always know how your pet is doing. When caring for pets in my home, I create a safe, clean, and pet-friendly environment with plenty of supervision, attention, and affection. I make sure pets get the right balance of exercise, play, and rest based on their energy level and temperament. I’m attentive to behavior, comfort, and any changes so I can respond quickly if needed. No matter the setting, I focus on building trust, maintaining consistency, and making sure every pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for.

Booked Stefanie last minute! She quickly accepted my request and she made sure to get all the information needed from me, in order to be able to house sit my four dogs. When I arrived home my dogs seemed to be content and I noticed Stefanie gave my dogs the treats and food I left behind. She provided updates and was able to answer any questions I had. This was my first time using Rover and I am glad I could find a dog lover that made sure all of mine were taken care of. She was even went one step further by hand feeding my picky dog without me asking her to do so!

FAQs for House Sitting - Avalon Park

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Avalon Park on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 249 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Avalon Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Avalon Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Avalon Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Avalon Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Avalon Park. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
