About: I have been pet-sitting for my neighbors, boss, and co-workers since 2010. While I occasionally board pets in my home, I usually provide pet/house-sitting in the customer's home. I walk/feed/brush dogs, administer oral medication if indicated, and spend time playing with them. I also take in mail, water plants, and take out trash/recycling. I am a newly retired teacher, now only working part time. I am available for your pet care needs early morning, early afternoon, & evenings. If I am providing care in my home, I can offer to take dogs for a walk in a nearby state park. I try to keep the pets' feeding and walking schedules consistent with that of the owners.
“Cheyenne went above and beyond my expectations. I immediately felt comfortable when with meeting her. Sometimes you just know an animal person when you meet them. She took my dog for a long walk, played with him and took lots of pictures which my dog looked very happy in. I will definitely use Rover and seek her availability next time.”

“First, I've never used this type of service before. Alissa was accommodating, attentive, prompt and very caring for my dog, Lilly. If Alissa is the standard of the type of people that will care for my dog, I would use this service again, without a doubt. And, I wouldn't hesitate in booking Alissa, and recommending her to everyone.”

“Cheyanne was great! She was very friendly and did a great job watching my 10 year old pup. Not only did Cheyanne complete all tasks while keeping me updated, but she also sent me pictures with statistics of my dog’s bodily functions while she took care of them lol! I would be happy to rebook again with Cheyanne and will recommend her in the future!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs my whole life, including my own pets since I was 10. I also worked at a dog kennel and as a dog grooming assistant when I was younger, and I’ve dog-sat for other families. These experiences taught me how to safely handle dogs, help with bathing, and keep them calm and comfortable in new places. What makes me different from many sitters is my experience with senior, disabled, and recovering dogs. I’ve cared for pets after surgery and illness, including staying up overnight to watch them, hand-feeding, helping them move around, and gently taking them outside. I also cared for my disabled Lab whose back legs didn’t work, helping with bathroom needs, cleaning, and daily comfort. Because of this, I’m very patient, attentive, and comfortable caring for dogs who need extra help, medications, or a slower pace. I treat every dog like family and focus on keeping them safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily schedule. I complete my schoolwork through flexible online classes, which allows me to be home most of the day. Because of this, I’m able to give pets frequent attention, regular potty breaks, walks, feeding, and companionship throughout the day instead of leaving them alone for long periods. I’m used to caring for pets as part of my daily routine at home, including feeding, cleaning, and making sure they are comfortable and safe. This flexible schedule allows me to be reliable and fully present for the pets in my care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their normal routine as closely as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. I make sure they are fed on time, have fresh water, get walks or potty breaks, and receive lots of attention and playtime. I also give any medications if needed and keep their space clean. I respect the client’s home and keep everything tidy, including cleaning up pet messes, washing bowls if needed, and making sure doors and gates stay secure. I send updates and photos so owners know their pet is safe and happy. My goal is to make pets feel relaxed and cared for while their family is away.

I will be by the animals side no matter what, no little distractions could get in the way of me and your pet! Just lots of smiles and fun times!

About: I’ve had multiple dogs in my home since I was very young. From hunting dogs to small dogs I’ve always loved caring and spending time with them. I’m available weekdays and most weekends. I’m a sports writer working from home. My girlfriend also works from home so there will be two caring people to give your pet the love and attention they deserve. I do not have a yard but live in a spacious apartment that is on the first floor. There is plenty of space in the apartment complex for your dog to be walked. There are no other pets in the apartment. I don’t take more than one dog at a time because I like think each dog/owner should have my 100% attention.
About: Experienced pet sitter and animal lover. I've worked in animal rescue, done trap-neuter-release, cared for a colony of feral cats for a decade, and fostered more kittens and adult cats than I can count. I offer visits, walks, overnight stays, or I can live at your house while you are away. I am a nature and wildlife photographer so I have gotten to know, to one degree or the other, all of the animals around my home, which, I believe, helps to make me comfortable with all types of pets. I also offer pet portraits! I have experience with all of the usual pets, plus a few unusual ones too. I will take good care of your dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles, small animals and even tarantulas or insects. I will treat your pets as if they were my own and I will let you know how the visits are going. Your pets will be safe and well cared for with me. I have a regular part time job with a flexible schedule so can be available just about anytime. Let me know what you need and we can work it out. Home visits run about a 1/2 an hour and include, depending upon your pet, a walk, poop scoop, litter box cleaning, feeding, watering and treat dispensing, and pats and cuddles.
“Kimberly did a great job caring for our dog while we were at work. It was our first time having someone come to the house and walk our dog. She made us feel very comfortable that our dog was going to be well taken care of. I would definitely recommend her.”

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Augusta. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Augusta.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Augusta. On Rover:
- 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
