“Really fun for the pups. Just the right amount and timing of outdoor play (during very hot days!). Great oversight of dog interactions, for heading off any trouble. Very flexible on drop-off/pick-up times. Thanks, Marci!”

“My Cooper so enjoyed her visit with Teresa. Teresa was very accommodating to all of our needs and so enjoyed the environment and attention while she stayed with Teresa!”

“From the initial meet and greet, my Belgian Malinois 1 1/2 year old puppy took to Trudie and her husband, (also a trainer). Anyone that know Mals, know they are extremely active and energetic. I was worried if she would be too much work. They spent time getting to know Raven so that when I left her 2 days later, she was at ease at her "vacation"home. The back yard is fenced in well, outdoor kennels, and play space. Trudie has excellent communication, photos, and updates and fair prices! They said Raven was sweet, so that tells me she was comfortable with them. I will definitely book again, and the drop off and pick up were seamless. These are dog lovers, and Raven got to meet their dog on the intro visit. THANK YOU!!!☆☆☆☆☆”

“Shaylor was wonderful and took great care of all of my fur babies. He was only supposed to watch Bentley and did me a huge favor by watching my larger dogs as well. Will definitely recommend him and use his services again for Bentley.”

“We chose Samantha and Ryan to board our dog, Haze, while we went on a trip for a few days. They sent us lots of updates and pictures of him and made sure he was well taken care of. Will definitely be using their services again for Haze whenever we go on vacation again!”

“This was my first time using Rover and am so glad we found Amanda! Communication was great and she send us videos of Bella, which eased our worries since this was Bella’s first stay away from our family. It was overall a very good experience. We will definitely use Amanda again!”

“Anthony and his family cared for our King exceptionally well. I knew that he would be in loving hands within the first minute of the meet and greet. While we were away Anthony updated us with pictures. My husband was so proud that King received an A+ on his first report card! You won't be disappointed with booking Anthony!”

“Our Frenchie really enjoyed his stay with Nakeya. He had a little area dedicated for him to sleep and relax. His birthday was Christmas Day and Nakeya went above and beyond by throwing a birthday party. He was exhausted when he got home from all the activities. Great job.”

“Couldn’t have asked for a better fur baby sitter! I got images and viedo of Spratt being a happy guy, which just made me smile and feel even more comfortable about leaving him. Thank you so much Nancy.”

“Ms. Yvette is always amazing with my pup. My dog has separation anxiety and is easily stressed, but she greatly enjoys herself with Ms. Yvette and rarely wants to leave when it’s time. If you’re looking for someone to give the same care and love to your dog as you do, she is your person.”

“Lucyna was absolutely excellent! She gave us total peace of mind by sending daily updates and wonderful pictures, which we truly appreciated while we were away. When we picked up our pups, they were happy, healthy, and clearly in great condition. It’s obvious they were well-loved and taken care of. We would be happy to use her again anytime in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic pet sitter!”

“Melinda and her family were amazing watching over my dog! She’s very attentive and provided photo updates that were nice while I was away on my trip. Great communication by her and she’s super kind! Would book with her again!”

“Leslie is absolutely amazing! She sent me the cutest daily updates my family and I referred to as, The Bijou Chronicles, which completely made my day every time. She treated Bijou like family, followed all instructions perfectly, and gave him so much love and care as if he were her own. I highly recommend Leslie, and she will without a doubt be my number one choice for all of Bijou’s needs. Thank you so much, Leslie! 🥰🤗🙏🏽”

“Darlynh is the best and I'll recommend her over and over. She sent me pictures to see how my buddy was doing. Cooper was shy initially and, I felt bad leaving him. But before I made it home, I received a picture of him all settled in and comfortable. If I could give her 10 stars, I would.”

“Our experience with Naomi was no less than worry-free, reassuring, and comfortable. We were constantly updated with pictures and videos. Based on the updates, Blue seemed very happy and comfortable for the duration of her stay. We will be using Naomi again.”

“We had a last-minute boarding request around Christmas, and Newana and her family were incredibly kind and accommodating in accepting my German Shepherd. From the start, the coordination was smooth and hassle-free. Newana kept us at ease by sending regular updates and photos, and she made sure my pup got his walks and plenty of care and attention. It was clear he was comfortable and well looked after in a friendly, family-like environment. We’re very thankful to Newana for stepping in during a busy holiday time and taking such good care of our German Shepherd. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and easy-to-work-with host on Rover!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Auburn home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Auburn.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Auburn sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
