“Allison was truly excellent!! She took care of our 10 month old puppy for 2 weeks while we were on vacation. He came back healthy, happy, and she sent us pictures and updates every single day we were gone which was great. We were able to be out of town with no worries knowing he was well taken care of. Will definitely be returning😊”

“Tatiana took such wonderful care of Hopey for the week we were out of town. She was great with sending daily pictures and communicating with me. Will definitely use her again :)”

“Cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Carla. This was my first time leaving my pup with someone other than family, and it went incredibly well. Carla and her son were so thoughtful and caring with my sweet girl. She sent me numerous updates and photos throughout the days to ease my nerves. They went above and beyond, I will definitely be using her in the future to care for my baby!!”

“Betina was amazing with my dog Griff! He’s a senior dog and needed lots of extra care during his stay and she was so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend Betina if you’re looking for quality care for your fur babies!”

“Sophia was amazing. From the moment we dropped off me and my husband both felt so comfortable and at ease leaving our baby with her. We were updated throughout his whole stay with pictures. He went on walks, and got to play with other friends. We will definitely be booking her again ❤️”

“Mary is top notch! She took my sweet Zoe the week of thanksgiving when we had to leave on a last minute trip. Constantly kept me updated with photos of our sweet baby. I would recommend Mary to all my friends. Mary made me feel so comfortable. It was as if I left Zoe with family. I will absolutely be using her anytime I need a sitter in the future! Triple A score for sure!!!!”

“Would definitely recommend! I know my girl had a great time here (apparently she loved the pool). Kayla/Richard provided photos throughout her stay and updated us on what she had been up to. Will definitely be using in the future!”

“Ky was awesome! She kept me posted on my furbaby and sent me photos. Cheese liked her energy and wasn’t scared or nervous with her or in her home. I will definitely be booking with Ky again! ?”

“Nancy was wonderful with our very old dog. Everything went perfectly during our first time using her service. She was prompt in responding to any questions we had. We will most definitely reach out to Nancy in the future!”

“Eric had Mollie for 3 nights. This was her first time away from us so we were probably more anxious about it than she was. Eric gave us a picture and updates every day. We will definitely have him keep her on future trips. Thanks for all you do.”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats as well as have fostered for PAWS. I work a day job from home and can be flexible on drop in times. “David and Krysta were the absolute best! We felt pretty guilty leaving our dog on her first Christmas while we traveled, but they took amazing care of her, and sent lots of pictures! I highly recommend them, and I will def be booking with them my next trip!”

About: Having a dog in the home is something we are well acquainted with and very much enjoy. I am a homeschool mom, and we are rarely our for long periods of time. The kids are gentle with all animals and are a big help with feeding, playing, and cuddling with the pups we've had the blessing to watch. I would LOVE the opportunity to care for your pet! Your pet deserves more than a sitter, they deserve family! We are home during the day and night with the occasional need to be out of the home for a short while. We have plenty of time to love and care for your pup! We have a spacious home and fenced in backyard for your pups to run and play. We have time to go on walks if your dog enjoys that! We recently said goodbye to our best boy, Parker. The house is definitely more quiet without his little paws following us around. We would love the opportunity to care for your baby.
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Auburn
Tara accepted a last minute book requests. Unfortunately, it turned out the dog we adopted 5 months ago is not okay with other dogs. She notified me right away after trying different solutions to get my dog comfortable with hers. Tara let me know as I was headed out of town, and I was able to go get Echo before heading out again. I would recommend her. She seems great with animals and someone I would use again for drop in visits!

Marissa was absolutely amazing with my dog Arlo! From the moment we met her, I felt completely at ease knowing he would be in great hands. She was attentive, reliable, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. Throughout the time she cared for Arlo, she kept me updated with messages and photos, which really meant a lot. It was obvious he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. When I got back, he was relaxed and in great spirits — a true sign of excellent care. I highly recommend Marissa to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog sitter. I will definitely be booking with her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Auburn home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Auburn.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Auburn sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
