About: Hi there, I’m Kate! I’ve offered pet sitting on Rover and another platform for 3yrs with positive reviews. I love animals and have over 20yrs of experience caring for pets, working on farms, and at shelters. My mother trains dogs professionally and, in the process, she trained me! I’m comfortable handling all sizes of dogs, breeds, and behaviors and it brings me so much joy to meet and get-to-know your pet. As your sitter, I’ll proactively send photos with updates and reach out with any questions or observations. I also volunteer at a no-kill shelter and have a cat with special needs, so if your pet has any special care instructions I’m happy to accommodate them. I have a flexible work schedule which allows me to drop-in for your pet or stay the day or night. I’m happy to work with you! “Ann is an amazing dog sitter. She took care of our elderly full-size Goldendoodle while we were visiting the Camden area and wanted to make a day trip to Bar Harbor. Because of Diesel’s dietary needs, I booked Ann to come every 3 hours to walk and feed our elderly gentleman. Ann came the day prior for a meet and greet and we were immediately at ease. In fact, we felt like we had known her forever. She did everything right meeting Diesel. Her services were amazing. She texted updates at every visit throughout the day, along with photos showing him happily at play, “talking,” on his walks, and even provided “poo ratings” to let us keep track of his stool. We prioritize the schedule, and operate on a first come, first serve basis. At an initial meet and greet, we come prepared with questions. We use a written questionnaire covering your pet’s routine, personality, health, and quirks, along with home access, expectations, and emergency plans. We want to understand your pet holistically, so they get the seamless care and love they need. We then use this as our guide when they are in our care. We carry professional pet care liability insurance covering pet sitting, dog walking, and house sitting. That includes animal bailee (pet protection) coverage, which goes beyond what a standard liability policy usually covers. It’s there to protect you and your pet if the unexpected happens while they’re in our care. Our policy also includes veterinary reimbursement, so if your pet needs urgent care during a visit, we can get them to the vet right away. We’re covered for lost keys too, so your home access is protected. Proof of insurance is available on request. If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
