“I was a bit nervous about trying Rover for the first time, but Kayla was amazing! She stepped in last minute and was incredibly flexible. She sent plenty of updates and even took some funny photos of my dog, which was so reassuring. I’ll definitely be booking with her again! Highly recommend!”

“Brad is great! I set out to make a more comfortable experience for my dogs while I was away and Brad provided that. The pictures speak volumes! He's on time, tentative, and involved. My boys loved him. Thank you for keeping them safe and updating me with your visits!”

“We asked Alexis to come over for four consecutive days to feed, check on everything, and spend a little time with our kitty while we were away. She did an excellent job and went above and beyond. We are very satisfied with Alexis. Our cat is very sociable with strangers, so we knew that she would greet her and seek attention. She played with her, fed her, and even sent plenty of pictures. Everything was in order upon our return home and we know our cat was taken care of. Again, highly recommend!”

About: Hello there! I'm Daniel. My love for animals began as far back as I can remember, and I’ve dedicated my life to caring for them—from dogs and cats to smaller pets and even insects. With 15 years of experience, I'm currently studying canine and feline ethology. I can offer basic grooming too (extra service) and am certified in pet CPR. My wife is also an approved caregiver, so your pet gets twice the love for the price of one. I'm glad to be here for you, as a helping and trusted hand! I work Monday through Friday, but I’m available after 2:30pm every weekday. On Saturdays and Sundays, I’m fully available. Overnights aren’t a problem either — there is always somebody at home and can handle morning meetings, so your pets are cared for around the clock! In our home, pets are treated like family. We’ve got two friendly cats who are used to visitors, a pet playground in our community, and a cozy balcony set up with water, toys, and a fan so they can relax. My wife, my son, and I all share the care — my wife has a natural love for animals, and even my homeschooled son has learned empathy and responsibility through caring for them. When I care for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routine closely — feeding, walks, playtime, and cuddles — just the way y’all would do it yourselves. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, loved, and at home, whether they’re staying with us or I’m looking after them in their own space.
About: I've taken care of dogs and cats for over 7 years, in many different locations. I've always had a pet, both growing up and now, both cats and dogs. I've also lived on a farm so worked with all kinds of animals. I am currently stationed at Lackland and work during the week. I will be available in the evenings and on the weekends. And can housesit if you live near Lackland. I love walking and playing with dogs, especially when it's cooler out. It's always a win to me when they're exhausted and just want to sleep when they get back into the house. I can take your dog for a walk, depending on the weather of course (I will never make a dog walk when it's super hot out), I let them out in the yard if it is too hot. I will make sure to follow the rules of your home with your pet, whether it be crate for bed or allowed on furniture. I will make sure to give attention to your animals while I'm at your home, lots of love and cuddling and playing.
“We hired Shawnette to check in on our dogs while we were away for a quick cheer competition. She was absolutely fantastic with our two greyhounds. One is super friendly and can be a handful while the other is super shy and timid. Shawnette was able to win over the shy one and handle the overzealous one. We absolutely recommend her and will be using her again.”

About: I’ve always loved caring for animals and have been pet sitting for neighbors and family friends for years. I recently graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Animal Science, where I took courses focused on animal health, behavior, and training. During my time in Lubbock, I volunteered at a veterinary clinic and several animal shelters, where I gained hands on experience socializing and training dogs and cats with a variety of personalities and needs. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pets. Whether it’s going for walks, sticking to their normal routine, playing with them, or simply keeping them company, I strive to make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and providing them with the best care possible! Since I recently graduated, I currently have a flexible schedule and am not working a full-time job. This allows me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs. I can dedicate plenty of time and attention to ensuring your pets receive the care and companionship they deserve. I care for pets in their own homes, where they are most comfortable. I follow all owner instructions and make sure pets receive the exercise, attention, and care they need while you’re away.
About: My dog of 15 years recently passed away last year and I miss getting to care for him, Rover will be my way of giving back! I work full time but I’m off every weekend and can care for your pets when you’re busy! I also can drop in some mornings during the weekday or evenings! I have a fenced backyard, I can learn easily if anything needs to be done specially for a pet and I am patient! I’m excited to get to know your pet family member <3
About: With over **40 years of hands-on experience** caring for animals of all kinds, my heart and home have always belonged to the furry, the feisty, and the four-legged. From the time I could walk, I was surrounded by a vibrant mix of animals—**German Shepherds, Huskies, Labradors, Poodles, Pomeranians**, and even the more unexpected companions like **raccoons, squirrels, and capuchin monkeys**. Each one taught me something new about loyalty, trust, and unconditional love. Pet sitting isn't just a job for me—**it’s a calling**. I provide every pet in my care with the same love, patience, and gentle attention I’ve given to my own over the years. Whether your fur baby is energetic and playful or calm and cuddly, I tailor my care to their unique personality and needs. From belly rubs and playtime to medication and special diets, I handle it all with heartfelt dedication. My goal is simple: **to give you peace of mind** knowing your beloved companion is safe, happy, and deeply cared for while you're away. Because when you're part of my pet sitting family, your pets become my pets too. 💕🐾 7 days per week availability. Require a minimum of 2 days' notice to book. I work from home in my day job and am able to flex my schedule to most clients' needs with minimum required notice as per above. Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,096 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Atascosa. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Atascosa. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
