“Our dogs love having Nicole come over and stay with them. She enjoys her time with them as much as they do her. She is a wonderful sitter, and we would highly recommend her to friends and family.”

“Samantha was amazing to work with! I will absolutely trust our pets with her again in the future. We loved receiving all of the photos and updates while we were away.”

About: Hello, my name is Anne, but you can call me Annie! I’m 24 years old and recently earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida. I’ll soon be working toward my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My passion for helping others extends to animals, and I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I’ve been around dogs since I was 7 years old, when I got my first dog, and since then I’ve gained hands-on experience caring for pets in both professional and personal settings. I’ve worked at an exotic pet store and at two dog daycares, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. I also have experience with basic training and understand the importance of consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement. Every pet has their own unique personality, and getting to know what makes them feel happy, safe, and loved is my favorite part of pet care. Whether your pet loves to play, explore, cuddle, or simply relax with a calm companion, I’ll care for them with the same patience, kindness, and attention I’d want for my own. I am a college graduate now pursuing my masters in mental health counseling online so I have plenty of time to dedicate to giving your pets love. I live in a two story home with a fenced in back yard and a screened in porch. I currently have an almost 2 year old golden retriever that loves other dogs. While I do not provide boarding at this time, I am willing to bring my dog per clients' request if your dog needs a friend!
“This was the first time we have used a service like this. We were a bit nervous as our pets are our babies. But Aubrey was wonderful and really put us at ease. We were gone for 9 days and she took great care of our pets (dog and cat). They were well fed, and were very happy when we got home. I would highly recommend Aubrey and will definitely use her again the next time we take a trip!”
About: I have worked as a pet sitter for 3 years taking care of various types of animals in people's homes before moving to Florida. I walked, fed, cleaned and documented everything that was done. We provided very personal service to our clients. I am flexible and available anytime. When not pet sitting I am taking care of our animals on our small farm, this allows me to keep a very open schedule. I treat everyone's home with absolute respect and courtesy. I am very comfortable with alarm and garage codes and document everything I do with your pet. I am willing to take short videos with the time spent with your pet to ensure you see their happiness.
About: My family has owned numerous of dogs in our large family. From my Uncle's Dobermann trio to my mother small Pomsky (Pomeranian and Husky mix) I've taken care of them all. The dogs in our family are tired of me before I've run out of steam to play or walk. I own five cats at the moment though one of them acts like a caine. My cats are friendly and mind their business when I overnight board my mother's Pomsky or my sister's Old lab mix girl for a few days. Cleaning after animals do not bother me. I daily change 6 cat litter boxes. When I'm left clear instructions the job is done efficiently every time. I work from home full time and I'm awake before the sun come up. I'm ready to get the job done early and my job is flexible about my breaks. I can visit your pets anytime designated as I have my own vehicle. I have a open yard that's not fenced in though only one neighbor with a dog behind a fence. I'm working to fence my yard in the future as I like the idea to give sitted dogs that open space. For now know your dog will become part of my workouts and I love to walk about 3-5 miles daily. At my home your dog will be welcome to chill with us though during the night will board in the spare room in or out of any provided crates.
“Richell was great with our 3 doggies. One is 13 who needs medication and one is 10 months who need constant attention and Richell did great with all of it. We will for sure book her again ?”

About: I’ve walked dogs for years in my town and currently house and dog sit for someone. Many people have seen the way I take care of the animals and have hired me based on this. I’m currently an in home care nurse that works 36 hours a week. This means I am off 4 days a week with mainly open availability. I enjoy spending my time with as many animals as possible. I care other peoples animals just as I would my own. Animals don’t do wrong on purpose, they show us unconditional love and they deserve the same in return.
“Breeanna was amazing, she stayed at our house while we were out of town and made our dog and cat very comfortable. She was very informative with everything and sent pictures all the time. I would highly recommend her and will definitely be using her again”
“Brittany is an amazing dog sitter!! She’s so sweet and put my mind at ease right away. Brittany loves animals, she took great care of my pup and my house. She also took pics and videos so I could see what my baby was up to. Don’t hesitate, you can trust her with your fur baby! My vaca was stress free knowing my dog was in great hands with Brittany.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Astor
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,074 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Astor. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Astor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Astor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Astor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Astor. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
