“Amanda is the best!!! We have used Rover for years across three states and Amanda is by far the best communicator, cat photographer, and caregiver we have had! She really cares about the animals and we will use her again!”

“Alison took wonderful care of our 20-year-old cat while we were away. She was attentive, gentle, and clearly gave her lots of love and attention. We especially appreciated the detailed updates and photos, which gave us real peace of mind. We would absolutely recommend her!”

“My flight got cancelled and rescheduled due to the sudden snow storm recently and I was scrambling to find someone to watch my puppy. Kathryn accepted this last minute request and I couldn’t be any more appreciative. I was out of the country and unfortunately had some communication difficulties but she was patient and provided the care my dog needed. Really enjoyed seeing the photos of my pup she would send every time!”

“Glenna watched our cats for a week while we went on vacation. She provided daily updates and pictures. She always treats our cats like her own. We appreciate the love and care she provides in our absence.”

“We only had a pop in visit scheduled on Thanksgiving but met Renee prior and got to see her with our GSD Rudy. He's a 90 pound dog so could be intimidating to some people, but not Renee! He like her just fine too and she was very interactive with him. You can tell a dog person when you meet one and Renee was definitely into dogs! We will use her again when the need arises. :)”

About: Since I was little I’ve taken care of not only my own dog, but also but friends’, families’, and neighbors’! I also have experience with senior dogs (my own dog) and puppies!! I’m currently working a part time job only twice a week so I have plenty of availability throughout the week and can do all services almost everyday before 4 or 5 pm! I’m very well experienced with electric fences as I have one in my own yard. I am also experienced with crating, walking, and niche feeding habits - and can follow specific instructions for special pups!
“After meeting Christie for the first time and seeing how patient she was with Ellie, I could see she was an animal lover. I was able to relax and have a great time visiting family for the weekend.”

“Once again, Toni was professional and responsive when caring for my two cats. She is so kind and sweet with them and communicates everything that is happening which I very much appreciate. Thanks you so much, Toni!”

“Adriene was AMAZING with our two dogs, Chole and Luna! She gave them such love and attention. She communicated with us while we were away. This made us feel so comfortable. We knew they girls were being well cared for. We highly recommed Adriene!”

“Stephanie did a truly excellent job with my dog Odie. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a top notch pet sitter. She is awesome and thoughtful and smart and Odie had a fun weekend staycation.”

About: I have been involved with pet rescue for coming up on 10 years and have been an avid pet parent to all types of animals for my entire life. My family and I were responsible for the rehabilitation of pets with high needs. This involved pets with both behavioral concerns and medically fragile pets through my fostering experience. I work with them to ensure they can put their best paw forward into their forever home. I have also attended several pet training class for fosters and my own family pets and am generally good with pets of all temperaments. I work full time, but am committed to taking care of all of our pets! Primarily I would be looking for night and weekend work to make sure I have adequate time to spend with your fur babies. I have 3 cats that live in my home and mostly roam freely (except for mealtimes) I also have a large dog kennel in my home for boarding needs. I have a small fenced in yard and also live in an easily walkable area with lots of doggie neighbors.

About: I’ve always had a furry friend by my side, since as long as I could remember. I provide reliable, patient, and personalized care to each pet I care for. I love both dogs and cats, no matter breed, size, or personality, I always make sure they’re safe and comfortable. As a responsible pet sitter/walker, I keep owners updated and follow routine in order to keep your pet happy and loved while you’re away:) Pet care fits easily into my routine because I have a flexible weekday schedule. I’m currently a student at Wilmington University, while balancing mutiple side incomes as a 23 year old in today’s world. I’m available throughout the week for walks or drop-in visits, and I can adjust my schedule to meet each pet's needs. I care for every pet like they're my own. I follow their usual routine, make sure they have food, water, exercise, and lots of attention, and I always follow the owner's instructions. My priority is keeping your pets safe, happy, and comfortable.
“Sarah came highly recommended from our old sitter who is leaving town. She is kind, patient, and genuinely caring. Our dog felt comfortable and happy right away, which gave us total peace of mind at meet and greet. Such a nice, trustworthy person—we’d absolutely book her again.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for as long as I can remember. I’ve had my own dog, Oreo, for the past 5 years, so I’m very familiar with daily routines like feeding, walking, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe and loved. In addition to my own dog, I’ve also helped take care of friends’ and family members’ pets, giving me experience with different personalities, sizes, and needs. I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely love being around animals. I make sure every pet gets the care, attention, and affection they deserve, whether that’s keeping up with their normal routine, giving them extra playtime, or just making them feel comfortable while you’re away. I’m available Monday through Saturday after 4 PM, with full availability on Sundays. I also have some days off, which gives me additional daytime availability during both weekdays and weekends. My schedule is consistent and flexible, and I’m happy to work with you to find times that fit your pet’s needs. Whether it’s walks, drop-ins, or extra attention, I’ll make sure your pet feels comfortable, safe, and well cared for. I have a safe, loving home and experience caring for my own dog, Oreo, along with friends’ and family’s pets. I can easily crate your dog if needed and will make sure your fur baby gets plenty of attention, playtime, and care while they’re with me.
“Great to meet and excellent with all 3 of my animals! I have 2 senior dogs and a 1 year old cat who is very nervous around new people but he walked right up to her easily. I’m very nervous about leaving my 2 senior dogs with anyone considering one is fully blind, the other has a messed up leg along with other major health concerns but she has gained my trust in caring for my boys while I’m away. Will be hiring again and keeping as their main sitter!”

“This is my first time using Rover and I think I found the right person! I was worried at first but Lili was awesome and my dog liked her. Lili sent me all the update during her visit and I was greatly appreciated :)”

“Julia is GREAT! She took wonderful care of our 4 babies while we were away and gave thorough updates with lots of photos after each visit. Our pup can be very anxious when we’re gone but he looked so happy to be hanging out with her and didn’t seem stressed at all when we got back. One of the cats is very timid as well and after only a visit or two, he was coming out to greet her every time she stopped by!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 3,681 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Ashland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ashland. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
