She did all the objective things well - was on time, fed and medicated correctly, etc. She was also a clear and consistent communicator, she took great photos, and my dog liked her (he's quick to go on a hunger strike if he's stressed but he ate well with her). My cat full-time hides when there's a human who isn't me in our house, but Rachel sent detailed updates on what she was able to observe (e.g., food consumed, frequency of litter box use). After I left, I realized I had forgotten to put the compost in my freezer into the bucket, so I texted Rachel to ignore the instructions about putting the compost bucket at the curb - Rachel responded by asking if the bin in the freezer was what needed to go in the bucket and said she'd take care of it, which was a huge help. We had a pretty bad storm while Rachel was here and she gathered up the many sticks and branches that had fallen all over my yard. Totally above and beyond!”

I also focus on giving pets plenty of attention and companionship so they feel calm and secure while their owner is away. I’m very mindful of keeping the home clean and respecting the space, and I always provide updates so you know how your pet is doing.
