About: I have been taking care of all kinds of dogs ever since I was 15! Pet sitting is one of my favorite things to do! I currently have a 9 year old boxer and an 18 year old peekapoo so I have truly seen dogs at every age and stage haha! I have a special soft spot for senior dogs though, especially since the one I have means the world to me! I currently am a student part time and work part time, and have plenty of time during the day before I head to work or class to watch or walk your pups! I have a lot of practice being able to crate bigger dogs, and am usually pretty aware of dogs and their triggers. I always want them to be happy and healthy!

“I'm so thankful for people like Kristin. It's always nice knowing you can leave your pets with someone who cares. Great communication and will definitely be using her again!”

About: I’ve always had dogs growing up and began to walk dogs for others at a young age. I started dog sitting about 5 years ago! I am a full time student but completely online. I drive across town multiple times a day so it’s easy for me to stop in or have a good walk often! My apartment is able to host small dogs and cats comfortably. Exercise will be a big part of our days as well as just interacting and making sure they are safe.

About: While I do not possess professional experience in animal care, I am very active in the animal world. I love time spent at shelters with animals that do not get much attention otherwise. I have always been a pet owner and animal “enthusiast”. My girlfriend is a popular sitter on Rover and I have assisted her in some of her sits to get a feel for it. I would love to care for your pets as if they were my own! I am a current student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln so do bare in mind I will have classes I must attend during the day, so I will not be able to keep watch of pets during certain times of the day during the week. I currently do not have any pets however I will use any and all safety tools that have been put in place by any owners/pets I have contact with!
About: I have worked at a veterinary clinic as a kennel assistant, at a doggy daycare as park staff, and at a wildlife rehab as seasonal staff. These jobs have required me to monitor behavior and symptoms to ensure the health and safety of all involved. I work part time, leaving me with much time for looking after animals. I am off on weekends and am looking for something full-filling to fill that time. My shifts at my job are usually 6 hours but no more than 8. In high school, I watched many pets in my hometown while their families were away. Lists and rules are very important to me so that I know exactly what is expected and how your furry family member would have the best experience.
About: I have experience with deaf, blind, senior and reactive dogs as well as cats. I fostered and trained for Blue River Pet Rescue and have taken dog safety courses with Nebraska Humane Society. I know what it's like to have a scared or sick dog and I know how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for them when you can't. I am no stranger to a special needs dog and I want to be that person for you and your pet when you need me. My own dog, who passed in April 2025, had CHF and I could barely stand to let him out of my sight. I was lucky that the people who fostered him offered to watch him when needed. Without them, I'm not sure how I would've found someone I could really trust to be patient and kind to him. Now that he's gone, I want to be able to be that person for others. I work completely remote, so I am always home, giving me a great opportunity to care for special needs animals or just animals in general. I work Mon-Fri, 12-8 and weekends are usually free. I live close to a dog park that I took my previous foster to every day and have a nice neighborhood for walks. I have a yard (not fully fenced in) with a tie out leash, though I go outside often and never leave a pet alone. I usually take the dogs out every hour and walk with them around the yard and house with a longer walk before and after work. I have lots of toys and keep a pet water fountain running at all times. I keep a couple of dog beds throughout the house, so there is always somewhere soft and comfortable to lay down, whether they want to stay close by or would prefer some space. My house is their house while they're here. Besides the trash cans, they are welcome to explore.
“Hannah was great. She was on time, played with the boys, and shared some awesome photos of the them. You could see from the photos they enjoyed the time spent with her.”

About: I have grown up with big dogs, cats and birds my whole life. I have a big heart for animas all sizes. I have watched dogs and cats for numerous years for friends and family members I typically have an open morning schedule. I work at my other job from 2-10, so I would wake up whenever needed. I have Thursdays off which will my fullest availability. I am very mobile and able to come to you at your convenience. I have a one cat at home and he is declawed. I live in an apartment complex so coming to you is more convenient.
“Eileen did drop in visits for us while our pup was 2-3 months old 1-2x a day for a month or so. She was patient, caring, and flexible with last minute schedule changes. Our pup loved having her over and enjoyed spending time with her. I would absolutely recommend her for any pet sitting needs!! She’s amazing!”

About: I’ve had family dogs my whole life and love to do things outdoors with my dogs. I have two dogs right now one old and one a puppy both with completely different personalities. I’m a student at the university of Nebraska so weekends and afternoons are when I’m most available. I don’t have many other commitments besides classes so I’m very available. I live in my family’s home in Minnesota during summer and breaks but live in apartment in Lincoln during the school year. Brining pets to my apartment wouldn’t work, so I would have to go to clients home.

On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
