About: Hey there! My name is Rachel and I live with my husband, our 2 daughters, 3 doggies and 2 kitties. I have many years of experience with dogs because my family growing up has always had a house (and yard) full of them. I have also offered dog-sitting to neighbors and friends/family in the past. The more wagging tails the merrier! I would be happy to offer any home visits to check on your fur babies to walk, feed or even play with them. I will also offer in-home boarding to dogs of all sizes as long as they are not aggressive since I do have other animals and children. We have a fenced backyard and live on more than 70 acres of land where I can offer leashed walks and potty breaks. Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to meeting your little loves! <3 I am currently a full-time stay at home mom so I have plenty of time to spend with your doggies. I'm available most major holidays, weekdays and weekends. I allow the dogs that I may be boarding inside the house, and would stick to a strict potty/feeding schedule depending on each owner and pet. I believe every dog has their own personality, much like people, and need to be tended to differently.

About: I’m an animal lover with 6 years of experience caring for pets and houses for friends and family. I understand that your pets are more than just animals—they’re part of your family, and I treat them with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. I’m comfortable caring for dogs, cats, and other unique pets, including providing meals, fresh water, walks, playtime, companionship, medication, and plenty of cuddles. I’m also happy to maintain your pet’s normal routine while you’re away so they can feel safe and comfortable in their own home. When house sitting, I’m respectful of your space and can help keep your home tidy and secure while you’re away. I’m happy to bring in mail, water plants, take out trash, and make sure everything is cared for! I currently work part-time as a housekeeper, scheduling my services around my client's individual needs on a first-come, first-served basis to ensure that every need is met especially the needs of your beloved pet! I take pride in providing dependable, and thorough care and I prioritize the highest quality of service possible! I provide high quality service that emphasizes the pet’s safety, comfort, emotional well-being, routine, and overall care while the owner is away. What my high-quality pet care service involves • Understanding each pet individually: Every animal has a different personality, routine, comfort level, and set of needs. I take time to learn the pet’s habits, likes and dislikes, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and behaviors rather than providing one-size-fits-all care. • Maintaining their normal routine: Pets generally feel more secure when their familiar routine is maintained. This includes feeding them at their usual times, refreshing their water, cleaning litter boxes or potty areas, providing walks or playtime, and maintaining their normal sleeping and daily schedule. • Providing companionship and attention: my quality care includes genuine interaction. Depending on the pet, that may mean playing, brushing, walking, giving affection, talking to them, or simply sitting with them. For pets that experience separation anxiety, calm companionship can be especially important. • Keeping the pet safe: As your pet’s sitter I prioritize creating a secure environment and preventing situations that could put the animal at risk. This includes checking doors and gates, being mindful of hazards, monitoring interactions with other animals, and following the owner's specific safety instructions. • Observing behavior and health: As your pet sitter I pay attention and inform you about any changes in appetite, drinking, bathroom habits, energy level, mood, mobility, or behavior. Recognizing that something is different can be extremely important to your pets health and well-being. • I ensure all care instructions are completed with qualityand care regarding food, treats, medications, exercise, allergies, behavioral concerns, or special routines. • Keeping your pet's environment clean is top priority! This includes cleaning litter boxes, picking up waste in the yard, washing food and water bowls, cleaning accidents, and keeping the areas where the pet spends time comfortable and sanitary. • Providing enrichment Pets need mental stimulation as well as basic physical care. Toys, interactive play, walks, scent exploration, routine exercises, and age-appropriate activities can help prevent boredom and reduce stress. • Respecting the owner's home I ensure to treat my client's home with respect and professionalism. This means being responsible with keys and access, keeping the home secure, cleaning up after the pet, and leaving the home in good condition. • I prioritize communicating consistently providing you with reassurance that your pets are safe and doing well. A high-quality and meaningful updates about your pets day and, photos or video updates. Communication is open and honest—if something unexpected happens. My high quality services ensure and prioritize that your pet is treated with patience, compassion, responsibility, and genuine care—not simply being checked on!

About: I have been taking care of pets for family members and friends for over 5 years now. It started when a friend had an emergency out of town and needed help. It was a pleasure to sit in and feed, play, and send goofy pictures of my friend’s dog to provide ease and comfort during a hard time. I work full time and that means my cats are fed on a routine. They require a special diet that requires portioned meals and time to play. I have an active pet cam that I am able to use to talk to them when I am not home to provide comfort and time dispensers for treats. I will abide by your routine and follow directive on when to feed, when to walk, and when to provide or administer medication. Only you know your companion best and in order to provide safety and structure, as your care-taker it would be a privilege to honor your schedule and routine.

About: I've taken care of many cats and dogs from my own, family and friends', fosters, animal shelters... the list goes on. I love animals. I have an apple head chihuahua (7 years old) and 2 GSD-Malinois puppies that are 5 months old. I'm the sitter that sends consistent pictures, updates, and pays 24/7 attention to your babies. I want to be the person that puts you at ease, as I know how it feels to be worried about leaving your babies. Hoping to find furry friends for my puppies too! EVERY. DAY. My older chihuahua is very low maintenance, but my GSD-Malinois puppies are extremely needy. We're very active, outside every 2 hours at least, tennis balls, tug-o-war, treat training, dog walks, and hug and kisses time. Depends on the age, but, first and foremost, is check the floor and keep my belongings out of reach. Give the pets space and time to adjust, offer some treats, and follow your pet's lead- both in my home or yours. Everything revolves around the baby.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
