“Elaine watched out two one year old cats. They are shy, but she worked her magic to win them over within a couple visits. She took detailed notes and made sure we agreed on what was needed. She also did playtime with our girls. They seemed very well cared for when we returned and not too clingy. Definitely would hire Elaine again.”

“Kelsey did a drop in for my two dogs while we were gone for most of the day. She arrived on time, took good care of our babies - even my little Maltipoo, who tends to shy away. Kelsey retrieved him from his hiding place in the house and put him outside to go to the bathroom. I felt they were in good hands and could relax and enjoy the day. Especially after I got pictures of them. Will definitely be using her again and highly recommend her.”

About: I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and bathe their pets. I have experience with high-energy breeds, shy or anxious pups, and senior dogs who need a little extra love and patience. I'm attentive to each dog’s unique personality and needs. Whether it's playtime, medication, or a calm evening walk, I’m here to make your pet feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. Im currently a high school graduate looking for a side gig to help me pay for a new car. I work 6am-5pm sun -Wednesdays and don’t mind doing night walks after work. I’m so free Thursday thru Saturday I treat every pet and home with the utmost respect. I follow all client instructions carefully, maintain a clean and safe environment, and give pets plenty of love and attention. I prioritize each pet’s comfort and routines, whether I’m in my home or yours. Safety, trust, and communication always come first!
About: More than just a side hustle, it’s my passion. •Lifelong dog owner, experience as a wrangler, ranch hand, foster, etc. Worked alongside & shadowed highly skilled trainers, worked in dog boarding facilities & private pet owners, while volunteering at shelters, rescues, and ranches. • Home 24/7 – Your pet will always be in my care and never left wondering where I am. •Mother lives with me currently, so an extra set of hands at all times! Your baby will have constant supervision and undivided attention! (Can meet her as well) • Single story home with a secure yard for safe play and relaxation. Back screen door is left open for furbabies to go potty whenever they want! • Two friendly dogs of my own who love making new friends & can provide great companionship if your pup enjoys socializing. (can be definitely separated, if needed) • Experience with animals of all sizes, ages, personalities, puppies, seniors, and those with special needs. My animals have always come first.. they eat before I do. They come before all. Their happiness, safety, and comfort are my top priorities. When your baby is in my care, they will be treated as my own. Working with animals has taught me patience, situational awareness, & how to understand the quiet, nonverbal ways they communicate. I believe every pet deserves to feel loved, safe, and understood while their family is away. I would be honored to earn your trust, care for your furry family member like my own, and hopefully become their new best friend! -I work from home, and have a very flexible schedule to attend to your dog's needs. - My home is completely fenced in - safe for your dog to roam and run around supervised. -Can easily crate or separate the dogs if needed. - Neighborhood is safe and dog-friendly - No kids or cats in my home -Ac/heat on 24/7 for your babies ensured comfortability. - Usually only book 1 client at a time to ensure I give your dog the best attention & safety precautions. I have a fully fenced yard, and two very friendly dogs. If needed, my pups definitely can be separated in a different section of the house, or crated. In my client's home, I follow every rule and expectation they imply. I take extra precautions being in the client's home, as I don’t want anything to happen to any of their stuff, or their furbaby.
“Kaitlyn and Jesse were absolutely wonderful!! They cared for our sweet dogs as if they were their own!! One of our adopted dogs has a hard history and Kaitlyn and Jesse were so good with him…he warmed up to them and trusted them over the course of the booking. They were so good at letting us know each day how our sweet dogs were doing and sent fun pictures!! We also live in the countryside and had a scare with some local fires. Kaitlyn and Jesse were quick to make contact with us and tentatively plan for how to keep our dogs safe! They are so kind and friendly!! We were so happy we got connected with them through Rover and will look forward to booking with them for future times!!”

About: I have over 5 years of direct pet care experience, starting with petsitting for friends and families in the community. I’ve gained most of my sitting experience with chickens, cats, and dogs, but am happy to venture out. Through my work at a dog daycare and boarding facility, I became skilled at overseeing dog activity, safety, and cleanliness in a busy setting. I moved on to a position working with dogs one-on-one in a small grooming salon where I handled dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I am able to comfortably handle, care for, walk, and bathe dogs of varying sizes, breeds, and behavior. I am open to taking on a challenge, and am not afraid to clean messes. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and finding ways to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the entire process. Although I work throughout the day, I have plenty of time in my schedule to put toward spending time with your pet. I’m active in the mornings and evenings, and can give my undivided attention as soon as I arrive to your home. My weekends are open for overnight stays or flexible drop-in visits, and I am always open to discussing options for pet care throughout the week. My goal is to meet the needs of you and your pets, and I am more than happy to make accommodations. I am happy to work with you to find what will make your pet most comfortable. Whether it’s keeping them crated, or finding ways to keep them stimulated when alone, I look forward to finding what works best for your pet. We can discuss feeding schedules, exercise and activity preferences, stress-relief, and other concerns you may have as we plan for your time away.

I walk and hike frequently with y dog, and I am able to care for high energy dogs. I have a full-time job that allows me to work three days a week. The other four days a week I have a lot of flexibility to make myself available to care for your pet. About: I’ve had dogs and cats since I was born. I’ve been raised with them and i’ve always seen how they can positively affect the mental state of those around. Therefore, i’d love to get any chance I get, to take care and love other animals just as much as I love my own! I am available majority of the days in the evening past 3:30. Weekends and Friday for the most part are basically fully opened. I just work my schedule around school and sports. At the moment I take care of my 2 dogs and cat inside of a town house. Therefore I do not have access to a yard so I walk them all together. I walk them every 2-3 hours and feed them in the morning and night with a mid day snack. For stimulation for the pets i’ve taught them how to use speaking buttons and I give them treat puzzles when giving their midday snack.
About: I have always had a deep love for animals and several years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I volunteered at the Yucaipa Animal Placement Society, where I gained valuable skills in handling pets with different temperaments. I also interned at Alessandro Animal Hospital, giving me insight into veterinary care and animal health needs. Personally, I have owned a dog for three years and cared for cats for three years, providing me with practical knowledge in feeding, walking, playtime, and giving lots of love. My background makes me confident in caring for pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior companions. As a college student, my schedule is structured around my classes, so my availability is set rather than flexible. I make sure to stay consistent with the times I am available so that pets receive dependable care. Pet care is an important part of my weekly routine, and I dedicate the time I have to keeping animals safe, happy, and engaged. I would create a calm and secure environment, always paying attention to their comfort and wellbeing. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I would keep routines consistent and provide plenty of exercise, affection, and supervision. With experience in both an animal shelter and veterinary setting, I am comfortable handling pets with different personalities and ensuring they feel safe and cared for at all times.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
