“Jean did an absolutely wonderful job in caring for our 13 year old Puggle. She sent updates and pictures during his overnight stay. Her home is VERY clean and completely set up for dog boarding. She’s not only knowledgeable about dog care but truly showed an interest in making sure our dog was comfortable and well taken care of. I wouldn’t hesitate to request boarding with Jean in the future.”
“Jim was great with our pups and treated them like family, which is exactly what I was hoping for. It was our first time boarding them outside of family and he was a great match! Re-entry was a breeze and our pups seemed happy as can be! Would highly recommend!”
“Thank you so much Mayra for taking amazing care of my baby boy on this long stay. Mayra is amazing and i can tell by the pictures and videos i was receiving daily that Milo was in loving care. Thank you so much to Mayra and her family!”
“Tiffany has a gorgeous fenced property that our pups loved to explore. She was welcoming and accommodating. She let us know when our dogs were settled and sent us pictures to know that they were happy and having fun. Asking anyone to watch two pups is a lot but she took on our two without hesitation. Our mini golden doodle can be cranky at times but she made sure he was comfortable And had the space he needed to feel just at home. We will definitely use her again the next time we are in need of a sitter.”
“My puppy had another awesome visit with Carol. She is a great sitter who treats my puppy like her own and keeps me updated with pictures and reports. I can go away with peace of mind knowing my puppy is in good hands. Carol is a blessing.”
“Miss Dawn’s house is our boys favorite vacation place. She treats these boys as her own! Makes sure the one boy gets his meds everyday. Sends photos and updates twice a day. They always have a wonderful time and I am worry free! A+++++ highly recommend!!”
“Jetzy was awesome with our little frenchie. She provided daily updates, and was able to accommodate his special needs. Our dog had a ton of fun with Captain. Would absolutely recommend and use Jetzy and family again!”
“Corra had the best time with Dolly and her sons. She was well taken care of with plenty of walks and cuddles. Dolly also kept us updated with frequent pictures. Will definitely book Dolly again !!”
“This was our first time using DogVacay and Lorraine. We could not have been any happier with the entire experience. From start to finish everything went very smoothly, even a change in schedule. Lorraine was just the best. We felt Scooter was in very good hands and knew he would be well taken care of. We enjoyed getting the pictures and Scooter seemed really happy. I think she enjoyed him as well. She was caring and took really good care of him and we are very happy to have her on board when we need her again. Thanks!!!!”
“Our little Pfeffer was well cared for and loved while she was with Sheryl. I received updates and pictures during her stay. Sheryl was understanding and flexible when we left a little later than planned. Pfeffer had plenty of snuggle time while we were away. I would definitely use her again.”
“Melissa watched my puppy on new years and did great! He was on medication for a hurt paw and she made sure he was properly taken care of. He had a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend!”
About: My husband and absolutely love dogs. We have a loving spacious home for him to run around in. I am always watching my parents or siblings dog and it’s always a blast to do so! My husband and I both work from home, so we’re able to spend a lot of time with our dog throughout the day. We take him on walks totaling at least 2 miles every day and love getting outside with him whenever we can. We also make sure he gets plenty of playtime, attention, and exercise, and we enjoy taking him along with us on walks, errands, and adventures whenever possible. We have a large dog who has his own bedroom with a full-size bed, which he absolutely loves! We also have two dog beds downstairs so he has plenty of comfortable places to relax throughout the house. Our back porch has a long leash where he can safely spend some time outside and enjoy the fresh air. He is no in the crate, but we do have a large crate in the basement available if needed.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Michael & Loraine! It was our first time leaving Bomi with someone outside of family, and they were so patient, kind, and reassuring from the start — answering all our questions and even inviting us to see their clean, spacious home before booking. While we were away, they kept in touch with thoughtful updates and photos, and it was clear Bomi was happy, comfortable, and loved like family. We’re so grateful for their care, attention, and kindness, and would absolutely trust them with Bomi again. Highly recommend!”
“Amanda was amazing! I would 1000% recommend. She is/was awesome with correspondence the whole time we were away and was engaged enough with our girl to give regular updates which helped ease any worry while we were gone. I felt confident that she was well taken care of. Will absolutely reach out to her again.”
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Amity Gardens
Dawn did such a great job with our dog (Sophie) that my husband and I now feel much more comfortable with going on another trip. We were so pleased with the whole experience. Dawn sent us photos every so often and the look on Sophie’s face showed how much fun that Sophie was having at her place. I am so happy that we found such a great dog sitter. Thank you Dawn!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Amity Gardens home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Amity Gardens.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Amity Gardens sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
