“Beth is wonderful and very kind. I was very nervous about leaving our dog and Beth put me at ease. She sent me daily updates. Kirby got introduced to 2 canine friends which I think he missed when he got home. I would recommend Beth to care for your pet!”

“Madeline was great at communicating and keeping me updated about Ponyo. She sent lots of photos and videos. It looks like Ponyo had a great time! I’m already scheduling my next sitting sesh with Madeline again.”

“Jacob was wonderful. He understood my concern for our dog Bella and kept me informed. He was also flexible with our pickup time which was much appreciated. Thank you Jacob!!”

“Kim was very kind to accommodate a short notice visit. She even fit in a meet and greet right away which I really appreciated. She was super responsive and sent lots of updates. Drop off and pick up times were flexible and she was right on time. Our dog came home happy, I couldn't ask for a better experience.”

“Amanda & her family are so great! It was so comforting to know while we were gone for 9 days that both of our dogs were so well cared for. She followed our instructions explicitly and sent us daily updates. It’s clear her family treats the dogs they watch as a member of their family. We will absolutely use Amanda in the future for needs.”

“Very thankful for her wonderful service Caroline seemed to be right at home with her and I got plenty of updates while I was gone will definitely book again if I'm in the area”

“Amy and Brendan were amazing! They were very flexible and able to take Ponyo on short notice, which was such a lifesaver. Communication was great throughout—they sent updates and photos so I always knew how she was doing. Ponyo got plenty of outdoor time and came home happy (and exhausted!) after all the fun she had. I would definitely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, caring sitters.”

“Tiffany was so amazing and sweet with my Furr baby ! She was super flexible with pick up and drop off and even sent me pictures while he stayed with her! Lives in a great area and overall a super amazing person !! This is where you want your pet staying if you are ever traveling !!”

“Our pup is turning 3 in June and we had never left her with anyone. We found Kessia and felt an instant connection. She confidently, but gently assured our pup and us that there was nothing to worry about, and her two pups instantly welcomed ours in playful banter. We have no concerns in leaving our pup with Kessia.”

“Molly was great. The dogs seemed to have had a good time, and she was very attentive to whatever they needed. She sent pics of them and kept me updated. I will def use her again.”
“Rebecca was fabulous with our pup. She sent updates and was very communicative. When we picked up our dog, she was happy to see us, but obviously well cared for and not anxious at all. Grateful for the help and loving care!”

“8 paws way up!! My 2 dogs would highly recommend Chris and his crew for wearing them out and play, play, playing! Large fenced in yard and other dogs to socialize with - June and Carter will be visiting again!”

About: I love dogs and have two of my own - a little man named Sid and big golden named Ruby. Everyone in my family has a dog as well so I am very used to being around pets. I am an active person and would love to walk, run with, or care for your dog! I work 2 days a week and I am flexible on weekends, so just let me know what you're thinking! We have two kids at home, 3 and under, so must be okay with sweet kiddos. I live in home with a big fenced in yard which is perfect for dogs. I have a small dog and large dog who get along very well with other dogs. They get super playful around other dogs, so your dog would surely have a fun time and get all his/her energy out! I am working part-time and home with my babies the other days, allowing a lot of flexibility with caring for your pet. We have some occasional things planned for weekends but are otherwise pretty open! I have a fenced in, nice yard for dogs to play and run in. We live in a great walking neighborhood. We have two dogs to keep your fur baby company as well as two young children. Animals must be kid-friendly for our home!
“Katie was wonderful with Toby! She watched him last minute for us so we could go on a trip. She sent pictures and was super responsive! I would highly recommend and use her again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Altoona
We absolutely LOVE having Rudy spend time at Kim’s house! He is always so well cared for and truly seems to enjoy every visit. This past stay, he made himself completely at home — one night sleeping between Kim and her husband, and another night cozied up with one of her kiddos 😆 One of the biggest indicators for us (besides his chosen sleeping arrangements!) is that he feels comfortable enough to eat all of his food. When we’ve left him with other sitters in the past, he sometimes hasn’t eaten much, so that says a lot about how relaxed and happy he is with Kim and her family. While every dog is different and I can’t promise other pups will settle in quite like Rudy does, we always feel so at ease knowing he’s genuinely loved and well cared for while we’re away. Thank you, Kim and family!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Altoona home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
