“Gabriel and Annie are wonderful! It was the first time we boarded our dog Zoe and they were so attentive to her and to us nervous humans! They sent photos and videos, which really put us at ease. Zoe had a blast with the pack and came home a happy pup. We’ll be back! Thank you!”

“Nicole is everything you want in a pet sitter! Kind, caring, communicative and so loving towards my dogs. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you SO much, Nicole ❤️❤️❤️”

“We had a great experience boarding our big sensitive dog while we were away! She is often hesitant with new people but she was comfortable with Cipriana right away and seemed to settle in without a problem. Cipriana was helpful and responsive and sent us pictures of our girl. Thanks for taking care of Rayna!!”

“Bijou and I were so happy with this experience. Drue was very communicative and accommodating with the process. He also treated Bijou so well, in fact spoiled her which is completely fine by me. :) I am very happy to have met Drue and trust him to watch Bijou anytime.”

“Jennifer was absolutely fantastic! Great communication throughout, sent pictures and a little summary every day. Definitely the most comfortable I’ve ever felt leaving our dog with someone for a longer period of time.”

“Marika was amazing! Feel very fortunate to have gotten her on short notice. My Viszla mix Susie loved her immediately. Marika took her on lots of walks (with tick check afterwards), sent updates, and her house/backyard space were perfect for an active breed. She went above and beyond when it came to making sure Susie was stimulated, making up little games for her to play with the squirrels and rabbits. Anytime I'm in the area I'll definitely be looking to book with Marika.”

About: I have always been an animal lover. As a kid, I had a guinea pig and a dog, and I spent a lot of my time at a farm, riding and caring for horses. Aside from taking care of my family dog, I have looked after the pets of friends and acquaintances. I have experience with both dogs and cats. I have volunteered in animal shelters and sanctuaries, and previously worked with a dog groomer, bathing and drying dogs. I work a part-time 11am-5pm job, mostly on weekends, along with some special events. I have quite a bit of flexibility with my schedule, so I can arrange it to fit with other responsibilities, such as pet sitting needs! I have a fenced yard, perfect for playing! I currently do not have any pets. I love to provide pets with the entertainment exercise they need, and I'm always happy to give cuddles if your pet likes physical affection, or space if they prefer to keep some distance.
“Rosalie continues to be an amazing sitter and great buddy to our dear poodle, Rumor. She was very understanding and flexible when we had to push back our pickup time. Just love her!”

About: I currently own an amazing certified Good Boy Austalian Cattle Dog and two snuggly cats. I have have always owned at least one pet, both cats and dogs since I was little. I have done a decent amount of pet sitting for neighbors and friends. I have even had to give oral meds to one dog I dog sat. If you have any questions, please ask! Dogs will always get at least a 15 minutes walk because my dog usually needs a longer one. I sometimes give my cats and dog breakfast and then usually give the dog a quick 15 walk in the morning before leaving for work at 7:30 am. I get back home around 3:00 pm and usually give my dog his actual long walk between 40 and 70 minutes depending on weather. I feed the animals and then have dinner and usually just relax and snuggle on the couch with at least one of the fur kids. I fit in other cleaning and what not in there but I always make it a point to walk my doggo and make sure they get snuggles since I am gone for a good portion of the day. I have room for a crate for a crate trained dog. I have a moderately sized backyard that is well fenced in. My dog is a counter surfer so we have baby gates for both the kitchen and the extra bedroom. The extra bedroom serves as the cat room so the cats have a dedicated space. Stuff can be adjusted if you have a cat not used to dogs, so they can have that entire room or vice versa our cats can go in there for a dog that is not cat friendly. We only live five minutes from Marbletown Animal Hospital of any emergencies arise needing urgent care if your vet is not available.
About: I have a passion for dogs and taking their consent and body language into consideration always. I operate Fear Free, although I’m not certified and I thoroughly promote and try to help clients have a better understanding of a dog’s cues and their consent and why it matters. I have many hours of canine observation and I have patience for all canines and their needs. I work a remote job in the early hours of the morning into the early afternoon, so much of this time aid can spend with your pets. I do have a night job as well and it is only a 4 hour shift. However pet sitting becomes priority when I am booked for sitting, so if I do need to be with your critter full time, please book as far ahead as possible so I can make arrangements. You can trust me to treat your home with respect and privacy! I keep a clean house and treat your home as if it were my own.

I’ve always been told I have a way with animals and I think it’s just because they have always genuinely made me happy. I’m currently available full-time to board animals at my private house on a quiet street! I also offer dog walking and drop ins as well as housesitting! About: I'm willing and ready to provide walks for as long as your dog wants (or as long as you specify is okay). I am extremely patient and try to stay aware and vigilant of dog needs. I've volunteered walking dogs for a nonprofit called Paws in NY. I have experience walking large breeds, small breeds, those who protest, those who lead the way, those who go wherever, etc, and I love hanging out with them all. I'm also experienced in taking care of cats, I've had/have two. I really love animals, and also realize they can't really outwardly speak to us so, I try to read signs they give me as well as possible so, they can be happy, and I believe I'm usually successful. I work very close to home so I’m in and out of there constantly. I typically give long walks in the morning and evening and shorter walks/potty breaks throughout the day and at night for dogs. Cats get a lot of attention from me with feedings as instructed, cleaning litter 1x a day, lots of pets and snuggles (if that’s what they’re into, not required!) Pets are cared for inside the home. Dogs are walked properly leashed on the trails nearby. Doors are always closed/locked and we are very careful with this as we have pets of our own.
“I can't say enough good things about Athena! She took amazing care of my dog while I was away for vacation, and I felt so at ease knowing she was looking after him. She went above and beyond, keeping me updated with pictures and messages throughout my vacation, which really put my mind at ease. On top of that, she's super sweet and easy to communicate with. I’d absolutely trust her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible and caring pet sitter. Thank you again from us and Bruce for everything, Athena!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Allaben home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Allaben.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Allaben sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
