“Char always did an incredible job with my pets. She was through, excellent with communication and pictures, and gave my fur babies the love they deserved while we were away. The only complaint I have is that she is moving so I won’t get to use her anymore! :( But I’m jealous for any who can, she’s a wonderful and reliable resource!”

“Lehia took on a lot with our old dog, medicine 3x/day, old did antics and set in his ways. She communicated extremely well and we felt diesel was in safe and secure hands. Highly recommend her”

“Mira took great care of Moose while we were away! She had great communication about arrival and departure. She kept our house clean. She sent pictures of Moose’s activities throughout the day and Moose was very happy when we arrived home.”

“Sana is amazing!!! She watched my cats for 2.5 weeks (the longest I have ever left them). While she was there, my cats managed to knock my jewelery off the shelf and into the nearby cat litter bin. Sana went through the cat litter to get my jewelry. In addition to that, she was amazing about everything else! She sent so many pictures and my house is nice and clean and my cats seem happy. I will definitely be trying to hire her again!”

“Makayle responded promptly to my inquiry and communicated clearly the entire time watching my pup, Mikka. I know Mikka loved having a companion while we were gone and got lots of love as shared in photos.”

About: I have over 8 years of hands on experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels. I provide dependable dog walking services focused on safety, exercise, and fun. I’m comfortable with puppies who are still learning leash manners as well as senior dogs who need a slower, gentler pace. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality and needs, whether that means high energy walks, basic reinforcement of commands, or extra patience and care. Your dog’s happiness, safety, and comfort are always my top priority, and I’ll treat them like my own every time we head out for a walk. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to offer morning, afternoon, and evening walks throughout the week. I’m also available most weekends. Whether your dog needs a consistent daily walk or occasional drop ins, I’m happy to work around your schedule and provide reliable, on time care you can count on. Your dog’s safety is always my number one priority. I carefully follow all care instructions, including feeding schedules, medications, leash preferences, and any special needs. I tailor each walk to your dog’s energy level, age, and personality, whether that means a brisk, active walk or a slow, relaxed stroll. I treat every dog like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.
About: I've taken care of dogs specifically since I was like 5. Whether it was a friend's dog, a family members or my own. Cats I have taken care of since I was 8. Changing litter? Done. Walking dogs? Done. Training? I do that too! I actually trained my own service dog who has since retired. Feed and water? Of course! Gotta get the essentials. Following directions, I will follow how YOU want your pet(s) taken care of. I have dealt with chihuahuas to great Danes to dogs bigger than that! No animal is too small. I will pick up messes, play with them, train them if you want, and obviously feed and water them. I can even stay over night with a pet if needed! I know some pets need extra support when their humans are a away, and I understand that may mean me staying over night. I have two dogs and two cats. I take care of the two dogs on a daily basis. Cats? Not so much but I do help out when asked as they are not actually mine but my roommates. I take my dogs out at LEAST 3 times a day typically more in warmer weather. But I take them out at least once when I wake up, once after or before lunch, and once before bed after they've ate their dinner. My dogs have stomach issues and only eat once a day near dinner time for me. I get them out more often to play now that its warming up outside In my clients home, as I don't do boarding at my own home, I can bring my own dog if asked for a play buddy but I would like a copy or to see the vaccination records to be safe. I will make sure the animals get some time to play and have plenty of attention while I am there. I will make sure dogs get outside to potty on either the specified schedule from my client or on a schedule I am able to run, but they will get out as much as I can make happen. Cats I'll make sure get some play time, if you're the kind of cat person who let's their cat out on a catio or leash or trust your cat out on its own for a bit I can make those happen too. I will make sure they have fresh litter when needed/requested. I will make sure both cats and dogs have fresh water and food on a schedule determined by the owner or when its needing refilled/changed.
About: I love walking dogs and playing with them. Dogs really are a human’s best friend. As a dog owner, I know how nerve-wracking it can be to try to find care when you are working long hours or have a trip out of town that isn’t dog friendly. I have relied on pet sitting and am so thankful to be able to do the same for others! I live in a spacious, pet-friendly home in Rowlett with a fenced backyard. The streets are wide and great for long walks, the neighborhood is safe, and there are plenty of sites and smells for a dog to enjoy! For cozier times, I have a den in my house that is perfect for dogs to play in! It’s a dog paradise here. When I’m not snuggling and walking dogs, I love to cook, dance, read and listen to music. I’m the happiest when I’m surrounded by family — including my fur babies! I live with my 2 children who are 12 and 15. I grew up with dogs and everyone in the house loves dogs, so your dog will get lots of love! I work from home, so I have lots of opportunity to spend time with your very special dog and keep them safe and loved while you’re away!
About: I’ve been watching friends and family pets for about 15 years now. Enjoy playing with dogs and cats alike. Experience from 1 year old puppies to 10+ year old dogs. I am available most weekends along with Fridays and Mondays. I’m always running errands in the community and can provide drop in services at this time. :) I have a puppy that is 3 years old and loves making new friends. We would provide services in your home multiple times a day

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 234 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alice. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alice walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alice maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alice choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alice. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
