“Karolina has been a lifesaver for us this summer. She is very responsive, always sends photos, and is willing to go the distance (figurative and literally—we live pretty far off the beaten path). She took the time to get to know our kitty. I was surprised when Klaire, who is shy, was on Karolina’s lap by the third visit. Thank you, Karolina!”

About: For the past 5+ years, I have been the go-to sitter for my sisters and friends, caring for pups of all ages and personalities. Whether it’s letting them out for playtime zoomies, keeping them fed and happy, or letting them out for scheduled potty breaks. I love making our furry family members feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I enjoy creating a fun, stress-free experience for your dog or cat, and love learning their routines, quirks, and comfort needs. I am always up for belly rubs, behind the ear scratches, fetch sessions, or just some nice quiet time cuddles - whichever they enjoy the most or all of the above. My family and I have always loved animals. We’ve had several cats, a Cocker-spaniel named Sam and an Akita named Bruno My most recent experiences thus far have been with Doodles, Labradors, Retrievers, an Alaskan Malamute, and an Australian Shepherd and my nieces 3 cats. I sincerely look forward to adding your furry family members and their type of breed to my resume as well. If you’re looking for someone reliable, patient, and genuinely excited to spend time with your dog or cat, Please feel free to get in touch, I’d be thrilled to help care for them as if they were my own. Hi, currently I am not working at a traditional job so I am able to come and drop in to care for your dog or cat. I am excited to begin this new journey and be able to bring a service that would help fit anyone’s busy schedule. Since I am able to come to your home your pet will feel more relaxed and comfortable in their environment. The safety and well-being of your pet/s are paramount for me, any rules or restrictions you may have for them will always be respected and adhered to. I take the trust you place in me to care for your pet/s seriously, which is why they will always be treated with the utmost care and love.

About: I’ve lived with pets my whole life, and have experience caring for both cats and dogs of varying difficulty levels. I can handle dogs of any size and energy level, having grown up with a very high strung Vizsla and a small rescue. I am gentle, caring and will always do my best to ensure that your pet gets the best care possible. I am currently a student at Western Washington University, so i will have plenty of time in the mornings and evenings to ensure that your pet gets the utmost care. While I don’t have space at home to crate or board your pet, I am happy to take them on walks in the many beautiful parks and forests around Bellingham, or play with them in their home yard or house. I am also always happy to sit and snuggle with your pet to comfort them while you are away.

About: Not only have I had my own dog for 15 years, I’ve also been a pet sitter for at least 6 years for many different families. I love all animals, and will treat your pet like it’s my own. I’m flexible with schedules, different pet care needs, and I’m an avid communicator. I’m a current WWU student, so my schedule varies by the quarter. I usually only have a couple hours of classes or work a day and then have availability the rest of the day. My own home is available for short term pet sitting, but always has a lot of people coming and going. I’m perfectly comfortable with house sitting in other peoples homes and adapting to whatever environment your pet is used to.

About: Welcome to my profile! I have over 4 years of pet sitting experience caring for puppies, kittens, seniors, and every age in between. At home, I have two Australian Shepherds and two cats of my own, so I know how to manage high energy as well as quiet routines. I am a self-proclaimed cat whisperer with extensive experience handling timid felines, as well as administering oral and topical medications safely. Beyond cats and dogs, I’ve also cared for fish, geckos, and axolotls! I pride myself on reliability, clear communication, and keeping your pets safe and comfortable while you're away. I look forward to meeting your pets! My schedule is pretty open with flexible availability through mid-September. Drop-In Visits & Walks: Available anytime morning, afternoon, or evening (from short check-ins up to a few hours of extended care/company). Overnight House Sitting: Available on a case-by-case basis! I am happy to stay overnight in the right home environment to keep your pets comfortable in their normal routine. Note: Once college classes resume in mid-September, my availability will transition to mornings, evenings, and weekends. Also subject to change if employed elsewhere. Caring for your pets in your home is a responsibility I take very seriously. Here is how I ensure a safe and trustworthy environment: Home Respect & Security: I ensure all entryways and gates are locked tight, respect your privacy, and leave your home as clean as (or cleaner than) I found it. Tailored Routines: I strictly follow your feeding, exercise, and house rules so your pets don't experience unnecessary stress while you're away. Specialized & Medical Care: Experience administering oral/topical medications and in handling puppies, kittens, seniors, and feeding exotic pets (geckos, axolotls, fish) safely. Emergency Readiness: I ask for your veterinarian's contact info and emergency preferences before every booking and send clear photo updates if requested so you never have to worry.

About: I’ve spent my entire life growing up around many types of animals and was always taught to treat each one like family 🩵 I started caring for others pets around 12 years old and have taken care of many species and breeds of animals, owned multiple exotic animals of my own (frogs currently🐸), co-ran a pet sitting business for multiple years where I was watching up to 13+ animals at some points, and am comfortable with every breed-from the never ending energy of a border collie to taking it easy with a senior dog or sitting with them for an hour just to earn a little trust for anxious pups. I am a young, responsible and professional adult, I love the outdoors and taking dogs out into it, I am someone who thrives in an organized environment and am patient and more than willing to work with animals that need to build trust. My top priority is always the safety and happiness of the pets I take care of, always ensuring they are getting the mental stimulation they need as well as knowing their behavior and being able to accordingly keep them in situations they are comfortable and happy in. I work part time as a baker, I have the most availability saturday-Monday, but am available most weekday evenings. I love getting out into nature and am very willing to work with you to fit dog walks, sits or whatever else you may need with my schedule! I live in a house in a quiet neighborhood with a small yard, it’s directly across from whatcom falls park and I have lots of access to great trails and the river. I always carry everything I might need in any emergency situation with an animal I’m taking care of, I am very aware of my surroundings and am very good at catching animals behaviors before any situation has escalated and am able to prevent them, from both my animals and strangers. I have spent lots of time training and many hours learning about animals and the physical warnings they show in discomfort, I have always been able to safely remove or prevent my own pets as well as clients from a stressful situation. I have no trouble standing up for my animal if a stranger isn’t taking proper care of theirs and will always put myself between them and harms way.

About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats ever since I was around 10 years old for friends, family and neighbors! Having pets around is my biggest joy and I would love to eventually work full-time with animals. At the moment my wife and I have one dog (Lily) and one cat (Baby) who are great with other pets! I grew up with 4-6 dogs and 2-3 cats my entire life and would love to continue to work with animals daily. I work seasonally on a boat and am very flexible in being able to care for your pets! I work seasonally in the winter months commercial fishing and run a micro green business on the side when I am home. I am very flexible in making schedules to care for your animals daily! I will provide exersize or just daily checkups as needed, as well as feeding and any care that comes along with it. My dog likes to play ball and run a lot so I am use to keeping her active and happy! Our pets are our number one priority and I'd love to make yours that as well!

“Kalani has been absolutely wonderful as our petsitter. She genuinely cares for animals, and her warm, attentive nature immediately put us at ease. Our cat, India, and turtle Fionna felt so comfortable and well cared for in her hands. Kalanis updates, complete with little anecdotes about India’s an Fionna’s day, were a highlight and gave us peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear she goes above and beyond, treating our beloved pet as if she were her own. I wholeheartedly recommend kalani to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate petsitter. About: I have owned and taken care of pets since I was a little kid, ranging from mini Australian shepherds to retrievers, labs and German shepherds. This means I have experience training young puppies and taking care of senior dogs. I also have experience with taking dogs on runs (since I love to run), which helps with high-energy dogs. I love dogs and am more than happy to help other people with pet care since I know finding the right person for the job can be difficult. :) I’m a teacher so this summer I’m earning some extra cash by nannying and dogsitting. I’m available 4-5 days a week including the weekends (and have no problem helping in the early mornings and late nights), so my schedule is pretty flexible and I’m very willing to fit multiple in-house visits and dog walking/running into my routine. I care for pets in my clients’ homes so I am skilled in giving all pets the attention they need both inside and outside the home, including playing with them, taking them on walks and runs, or just sitting down and keeping them company depending on the age and needs they require. I take pride in fulfilling all pets’ routines and owners’ expectations.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Alger

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
