“Kayla did a fantastic job! I’ve never hired a pet sitter before, so I was really nervous about how my animals would do. She was very reassuring and sent me pictures and updates every day. She did fantastically with the dogs, especially my really anxious one. I appreciated how attentive she was to my dogs’ health. She let me know quickly when one of them inevitably puked from stress and made sure they were both happy and tired before leaving for the day.”

“Mara was fabulous with Wags. She paid close attention to what he needed and how he was doing. Communication with her was easy from booking through the visit. Will definitely use her again.”

“We left our large breed- very spoiled and routine driven dog in Patricia’s care for a week. We had concerns at first because our Dog has never been left alone for much more than a few hours. Patricia experience, knowledge and caring made our summer vacation a pleasant experience. Patricia even took pictures and send updates to my wife which also helped elevate some concerns and stress We highly recommend Patricia .”

“Pilar stayed in our house with our Yorkie while we were on vacation. Pilar was very professional and sent photos and updates each day. Unfortunately, our seven night booking with her had to be cut short by three days due to the effects that Pilar experienced from the smell coming from our pilot light of our gas log fireplace. She offered to do drop-in visits for the remaining three days, but I was able to find an alternative for Bella‘s care. I appreciated the fact that she was willing to do what she could to help out. We returned to a clean house and certainly recommend Pilar as a dog/house sitter.”

“Hailey is punctual and has good handling skills. Our cat was comfortable and happy with her sitting and she was accommodating with changes. She communicates well, is punctual and thorough. I recommend her for house sitting.”

I’m comfortable with feeding and walking schedules, providing enrichment and playtime, cleaning litter boxes, and providing comfort and attention. I am a teacher on summer break so my schedule is pretty flexible right now. I want to help you feel comfortable leaving your pet, so I understand the importance of communication and trust. I am a teacher so I am available this summer, every day. When I go back in August I will only be available Monday through Friday after 4:00, Saturday and Sunday all day. All instructions regarding routines and medications will be carefully followed. I will pay attention to each pet’s behavior to ensure they are comfortable. About: I’ve been around dogs for years and enjoy making sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m dependable, patient, and attentive to each dog’s personality and routine. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, check-ins, or giving extra attention and care, I treat every dog like my own and make sure they feel happy and comfortable. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I already care for my own two dogs every day. I’m used to feeding schedules, walks, exercise, playtime, cleaning up, and making sure dogs get attention and structure. I’ll communicate clearly and make time to make sure your pet feels comfortable, active, and cared for. I’ve grown up around dogs and also gained experience helping in my dad’s dog breeding business, which taught me responsibility, patience, and how to understand different dog personalities and needs. I currently have two dogs of my own, so I’m comfortable with feeding routines, exercise, supervision, and keeping dogs safe and comfortable. I’ll treat your pet with care and follow any instructions you provide to keep their routine consistent.
“Jordan did a wonderful job watching my three dogs! Great communication and happy to work around my dogs boundaries that aren’t socialized to one of the dogs in the household. My dogs would definitely recommend booking again”

About: With over 15 years of hands-on pet care experience, I’ve worked with a wide range of animals—from loyal German Shepherds and playful pit bulls to energetic labs, cuddly chihuahuas, and high-energy doodles. Whether it’s a daily walk, overnight care, or just some extra love and attention, I treat every animal like they’re part of the family. I am a teacher during most of the year, but I love working with animals. I am trying to build my summer with pet sitting, dog walking, etc to keep myself active and busy. I do not offer pet sitting in my own home. However, in your home I will keep the schedule/routines you use and ensure your pet gets plenty of cuddles and care.

“On time, and sits plays with my dogs. She is usually there at least the 30 min. My dogs love her and respond well to Daysie. She is also has timely responsive to requests and texts. Sends pix and updates as well. .”

“Tammi is an excellent pet sitter! I will definitely ask her to come again. She was very attentive to Sunny and sent me daily updates while we were away for a long Memorial Day weekend at the beach. I felt very comfortable having Tammi in my home and know Sunny was very well cared for and she left my hone in better condition than when she arrived! Thanks for taking such good care of my dog and our home. I really appreciate all the love and attention for Sunny!”
About: I've been working with dogs since childhood - my parents raised Pekingese & Dobermans. Even at 8 years old, I helped mama dogs birth their pups. My schoolmates thought it was gross, most adults thought it was weird, but I thought it was super cool to be a part of bringing life into the world through adorable little squeaking pups. Even though we were very ethical & loving with our pups, many backyard breeders are not, so I no longer agree with that. But as an adult, I fell in love with rescues & adopted a few over the years. Then I decided I wanted to be more involved with Rescues. So... I became a Foster Parent, assisted Black Dog Rescue, & was an integral part of Cooper's Companions Animal Rescue in Colorado before moving to NC. I usually ended up fostering unadoptable dogs & working with them extensively until they became adoptable. Then followed up with their new pet parents to help ensure success & making it stick. My specialty is working with fearful dogs, teaching pet owners how to get the behavior they want from their pet, stopping jumping on people, food possessiveness, leash training, & training dogs to walk on a treadmill. We have 2 little dogs who had a big 'sister' for many years, so all size dogs are welcome; Both of our pups are super dog-friendly. One of them loves to play with other dogs after she gets to know them, and the other will play sometimes, but can be a bit of a snob. We want all dogs to enjoy staying with us, but... we won't tolerate a 'truly' aggressive dog in our home. My dogs might initially bark at other dogs, but they don't attack other dogs, so should either of my dogs be attacked or if a human is bitten, the offender will be separated & crated inside, or placed in our separately fenced kennel area outside (if you prefer) for the remainder of their stay. Any issues will be discussed with the dog owner to establish their preference in this regard. Otherwise, we'll shower your fur baby with love & attention so you won't have to worry about them when you're away. Please note: ***We will only board dogs which are spayed or neutered.*** If they are not spayed/neutered, I will be happy to do drop in or house-sitting care, but we will not be able to host in our own home. --- I require a meetup with dogs & their owners before actually accepting a booking. If you are unable to do this, I'm unable to take care of your fur babies. --- I work from home, so my availability is fairly open unless we're on vacation or if in the event that I have to go on a business trip. _____________________________________________________________________________ *** Important Note*** Doggie Day Care is for "up to 9 hours" each stay. If you need care for more than 9 hours, please schedule it as a boarding. Just let me know it's for an extended hours stay in a message. Otherwise, for requested stays exceeding 9 hours, I will send you a modification request changing it from 'day care' to the status of 'boarding' which costs more. If I have to send you a modification request & you don't want to pay a boarding fee for time exceeding 9 hours, you may choose to decline the change & it will never actually be booked with me. However, in this instance, you will need to find another sitter. Thank you for understanding... We have a fenced in yard for your pup to play in. The previous home owners put in a separate fenced kennel, so that's an available option in case you prefer your dog to be separated. It's unusual, but some people do prefer that. We almost never use it, though.
“Alex was absolutely amazing, she let me know if anything was off with my dogs and helped me out when I had someone else cancel. I will definitely be using her in the future!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was a kid and I trained my dog and many other family/friends pets! I’ve had my dog for 9 years. I currently work part time throughout the week and I include and care for my dog any time I am at home. She loves outdoors! I am sure to keep my dog on a leash at all time she is not home and pick up as we go! I also like wiping after going outside.

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’ve raised and trained dogs since I was young and have experience with puppies, senior dogs, large breeds, high-energy dogs, and more relaxed companions. I’m also comfortable caring for pets with medical needs and can administer oral medications, topical medications, injections, and provide care for dogs wearing cones or diapers. I work from home, which allows me to provide a flexible schedule and spend plenty of quality time with the pets in my care. Dogs staying with me are rarely left alone for more than 2–4 hours, receive regular potty breaks every 2–4 hours, and get lots of attention throughout the day. I always strive to keep pets comfortable by following their normal routine as closely as possible. I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, potty breaks, fresh food and water, and lots of affection. All outdoor time is supervised, and I provide a clean, quiet, and stress-free environment. There are no other animals in the house. I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos throughout their stay or visit. I have access to a large backyard and a ton of greenery right across the street.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Alamance
Sommer took exceptional care of our boys while we were away, and we couldn’t be happier! It was obvious as soon as we got home that they had been well cared for and genuinely enjoyed their time with her. She also went above and beyond by checking our mail, taking care of the sprinkler, and looking after the house, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were gone. Everything was exactly as we left it, and we truly appreciated her reliability, communication, and attention to detail. We sincerely hope she’ll be available the next time we travel because we’d love to become regular clients. We highly recommend Sommer to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dependable to look after their pets and home!

Cameron stayed with our 3 pets (one cat two dogs) overnight and was perfect! She even came a few times before so our very spoiled and needy pets would get to know her better. She was gracious and kind to the animals and respectful of our home. I would highly recommend Cameron and will be using her again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Alamance
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Alamance on Rover is $36.49 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,431 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alamance. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alamance walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alamance maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alamance choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alamance. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
