About: I used to work as a Vet Tech for 3 years. Up until a few years ago I have always had an indoor dog and/or cat. When our fur baby Milly (Pit/ Staffy) passed and we found we enjoy entertaining a variety of breeds. Since then we have got another pit baby Ollie. He has grown up with a new pup in the house almost daily. He loves friends! He is very well socialized and loves everyone! We would love to share all our love with your Fur baby. My kids love when the fur babies want in bed with them. I have a nice sized fenced in back yard, and different sized kennels, including an extra large kennel. Also an exterior 10x 10 covered kennel outside. We love bringing your sweet baby in to our home to get some loving from all of us. I have 4 kids 20, 18, 13, 8. They all love animals and know how to treat fur babies. We have 5 cats, Shadow, Toofless, Athena, Mustashio, & Corbin. We are in a nice neighborhood and can take daily walks if that is what your pup enjoys. We play fetch in the back yard all the time. I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby! Thank you for considering us! I am a stay at home mom and homeschool all my kids. We are a big part of our church CTC:Church That Cares Tarkington and are in attendance every time the doors are open. I am the Tech team leader and my husband plays the bass. My 2 oldest daughters run our coffee shop & sing as well. We like to walk on a leash, even in the fenced in yard, to make sure you are comfortable. Please let us know if you would prefer them to free roam in the yard with supervision.
“Alison was fantastic. We have two very anxious cats and even they seemed to warm up to her! She even handled the bossing around from our non-anxious boy. Our babies were very well cared for and her updates are so cute and funny! Will definitely use again for our large fur family!”

“Very friendly, took it upon herself to meet my cats prior to sitting to make sure they liked her. Provided last minute sitting for the holidays which was much appreciated :) even brought in some packages that got delivered while I was away”

“He was an amazing pet sitter! went and checked on my babies as much as we asked and made sure they were taken care of while we were out of town! would definitely use his help again!”

Pet owners will receive picture or video updates about their fur baby a minimum of twice a day unless there is a special request. A little about me: Animal care runs deeply in my family. I come from generations of farmers and veterinary professionals, including uncle whose pioneering contributions to veterinary medicine were honored by Tuskegee Institute. I was taught from an early age how to care for animals. I enjoy spoiling and treating my fur babies like my own children (because they are lol). I lived on a farm for most of my life and have cared for animals my entire life. I own a mini poodle, named Zoe, who loves playing with other dogs. Zoe and I enjoy dog parks, doggie pools, visiting doggie bakeries to try new treats, playing catch and tug of war, doggie walks, play dates with other dogs, and cuddle time while watching a great movie. My dog is my best friend. Zoe’s health and happiness is important to me, and it is equally important to me to ensure your fur baby is cared for with the same quality of time, effort and love. I believe in being flexible and accommodating for the familes i serve. When caring for your pet, I provide daily updates (photo/video) and stay in close communication so parents can feel comfortable and connected while they are away. When available, i also enjoy sending pups home with special treats. In my care, your pup will enjoy daily walks, up to 4 outdoor play sessions a day, water play (with doggie sprinkler or doggie pool), access to roam a large fenced back yard, the company and friendship of other dogs, daily treats and snacks (at the approval of the owner), doggie day care shows on a movie projector, and all the cuddles and love they need while you’re away. I’m looking forward to meeting and caring for your fur baby ❤️. Me and my husband alternate being home so your baby will have consistent presence to attend to their needs. In addition, i have cameras in my home that allow me to monitor pet activity 24/7. I believe in keeping pets safe, comfortable and well entertained. As mentioned, fur babies are provided potty breaks every 2-4 hours starting at 6am. Pups are given 3-4 play sessions outside in the fenced yard. Pets are free fed or fed on a schedule at the parent's request. Pets who do not get along with other pets are separated to ensure a safe environment. Pets who are not potty trained are encouraged to arrive with wraps or diapers to help maintain a safe and clean environment. Pet parents are asked to communicate if their baby have any history of aggression, toy possession, or anxiety so that I can ensure the comfort and safety of all pets.

About: I’ve always been surrounded by dogs. I’m not ready to get another dog yet so I know that I would be a good fit for yours. I am retired. Walking your dog would be a blessing to me as well as give you peace of mind. I will take care of yours the same as I would do for mine. I have a fenced in yard. I have no pets. I love being outside and am very active. It would be a honor to be your dog walker.
About: What sets me apart is the patience, attention, and genuine care I give every pet. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I’m comfortable following detailed routines, caring for dogs with different personalities and energy levels, and giving pets the time they need to feel comfortable with me. I also provide plenty of communication, photos, and updates so owners can feel at ease while they’re away. Luckily, my schedule is very flexible, allowing me to accommodate drop-in visits throughout the day and provide care when your pet needs it most. I am happy to discuss your best schedule. For drop-in visits, I care for pets in the comfort of their own home and follow the routine and instructions provided by their owner. During each visit, I can provide fresh food and water, potty breaks, walks if requested, playtime, affection, and any other care your pet may need.
About: We are a new family of three and are preparing to add a wired hair fox terrier in the near future. We had a family dog when I was young but he sadly passed away due to old age. My husband and son love dogs and all animals. His previous pair of dogs was sadly stolen from him and he hasn’t been ready to get another pet. That recently changed when our son started showing extreme interest in dogs and other animals. We want to test the waters with dog boarding and walking to see before committing. For us, a pet is forever. I work from home and my work is flexible. I can accommodate changes in schedule. My office is in the galleria area and my house is in humble. I can do dog walks in the galleria area as well. I have a fenced backyard and empty rooms to house the dogs if they need to have their own space. We live in a very friendly neighborhood and parks nearby.
“Nichole took such great care of Ninja while we were on vacation over the holiday's. Knowing he was well cared for was such a relief. We also loved getting the pictures of him! Thanks Nichole for your professionalism and kindness. 10/10 would definitely book again.”

About: I’ve always grown up around all different types of animals from dogs and cats to snakes and fish so I have had lots of practice. I have had many family members, family friends and friends of my own ask for help and I’m always so happy to do so!! I am currently taking an online class for college so I am available almost any time and any day. I cannot do Saturday’s because I live with a toddler so I stay home and visit with family on the weekend, but other than that I am free, so why not spend it with cuties!? I always keep up with the animals that are in my care I always make sure I’m paying attention to what they eat, how much they are eating, making sure they have water at all times, I make sure to take them on at least 2-3 walks a day depending on how long they are in my care! I also make sure to provide them some fun and playtime so they are not alone all day or in a kennel cooped up all day either.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs all of my life and have been so rewarded and loved by them all! I will give the same to your dogs as well! I am retired and can provide constant care and support to all that need my care. Let me know if I can care for yours. I have a fenced yard and can provide space and playful activities with your dogs. I am extremely grateful to have yours to care for!
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ainsworth
This is our second time using Amanda and I would recommend her over and over and over again! She’s so communicative, loves on our babies, and has the knowledge and expertise to pay real attention to the details of each of our pups. This booking was last minute and she didn’t make us feel like an inconvenience. We appreciate her so much!

Amanda deserves all the gold stars!!! Great communication, flexible with changing schedules, prompted to do a meet and greet beforehand, gave detailed updates and sent photos of our three fur-kiddos, and was just all-around awesome! Will definitely be reaching out to her for future care! ♥️

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
