“Linda is amazing. My fur baby hates to see her leave after they spend time together. I feel so relaxed, and may enjoy my time away when Linda is caring for my baby. You will be very pleased with how well Linda will care for your pet.”

“Marissa was amazing from the beginning, she was able to help us last minute, she was punctual, my dogs loved her, she did everything we asked for and went beyond to take great care of them, she sent me daily updates and took excellent care of my house. I can’t thank her enough. I will definitely ask her to pet sit my babies again!”

About: I’m always a go to, I’m flexible and do what’s needed for the family and the dog. I’m genuine and will help whenever you need. I have a dog myself so I take care of him everyday. He eats and goes out on time, and then he just relaxes ! I will make sure everything is put back in the right place, clean up after myself and the dogs. I treat it like it’s mine.

About: I grew up with two dogs and two cats. I now own two cats of my own and they are my world. I am certified in animal care through the CAT Center. There I learned to groom and care for many different kinds of animals. I am home for the summer trying to make some money before I move to florida for school. My schedule is pretty much completely open. At home my cats eat at 8am and 8pm I go back and forth between dry and wet food. I clean the litter once a day and completely change it once a week. I play with them as much as I can and I’m always bringing them new toys. I care for all animals like they’re my own.
“Lauren was fantastic. She went above and beyond in caring for our pup. He has separation anxiety and she did her best with him. She is caring about animals and she gave pup great love and attention. We definitely will be using her in the future. Thank you Lauren.”

About: Update: I will not be available May 18-25, and Jun 2-14 I love dogs!! I've fostered many dogs and volunteered at many shelters. I've had seniors and even fostered one with spina bifida. My first two loves were English Bulldogs. I have lots of experience with them and know that smooshy face breeds are much more delicate than other breeds. I absolutly love them! I'm not good with extremely energtic dogs, but can handle anything else. I am semi-retired. I currently work part time on Friday and Sundays with an occasional third day, so I am home a lot. I have plenty of time to devote to your pooch. In my home, I care for your pet just as I care for mine. Of course, with your direction implemented also. I do have a pool, so I will need to know how your dog is around pools, or if they have zero experience with pools, I will need to know that as well.

About: My experience comes from owning my own pets (goats, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters) and petsitting (yes, even even horses, pigs, snakes and bugs). In previous years, I fostered for countless animal rescue groups and shelters, whether it was just volunteering or fostering puppies or senior dogs in need. I currently own a pitbull/lab rescue, Cali, who I trust with few people. I completely understand the anxiety when it comes to trusting someone new to watch over your pup. This is why I prioritize communication, forming relationships with both pets and parents, sending frequent updates and paying close attention to details/routines provided to me. After each visit, you can always expect to find water bowls to be clean and full, leashes hung up and everything just as you left it except this time with a happy and tired pup! Please reach out with as many questions as you'd like, I look forward to hearing from you! I have a dog of my own, so pet care is already built into my routine and something I look forward to everyday. I'm also available for last minute needs and do my best to be as flexible as possible as I understand plans can change :) How I care for your pet depends entirely on the instructions you give me, I strive to follow your directions as closely as possible to ensure you, your pet and myself all have a great experience that is as similar as can be to your routine with them. With that being said, each pet I care for is treated as my own and will have my full attention when I am with them.
About: I have taken care of animals my whole life, having 9 pet dogs, 2 pet cats, 4 ducks, and 4 chickens. I love all animals and caring for them. I am a college soccer player so I love to be active, I am always taking my dogs for runs and walks! I would love to help out anyone in need of someone to watch their sweet pets! When I am home from school, (Dec/Jan/May/June/July) I am practically on my own schedule. I train soccer and workout on my own time, so during these months I am very available! Previously, when I am taking care of a pet at a client’s home I will ask the owner what they typically do for their pets during the day and try to replicate that as best as I can for the pets!

About: Hi! I’m someone who genuinely enjoys creating a calm, safe, and caring environment for both pets and homes while owners are away. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable helping with everything from walks and playtime to feeding routines, medication reminders, litter box maintenance, mail collection, plant care, and overnight house-sitting. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets and home, so I always try to provide thoughtful updates, consistency, and attentive care. Outside of pet sitting, I have a background in creative/social media work and customer service, which has made me very organized and responsive. I’m currently looking to build long-term relationships with local clients and would love to help make travel or busy schedules less stressful for you, your home, and your pets! I grew up with cats (and have my own now) and learned and loved on dogs at my Grandma's house. I currently have a flexible schedule outside of my regular work hours and enjoy building pet sitting into my routine. I’m available for cat drop-ins, overnight house sitting, feeding visits, and general home check-ins depending on timing and location. I try to keep my availability updated and always communicate clearly about scheduling, visit timing, and updates while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with both your pets and your home. I always aim to create a calm, respectful, and safe environment while following your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I’m attentive to details, mindful of household instructions, and committed to keeping communication open through updates and photos so you can feel comfortable while away.
“This gentleman is the man! He was so attentive with our dogs and consistently updated us on how things were going. I would definitely recommend him to others!”

About: Hi! My name is Morgan, and I’ve been around animals my entire life. I have experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages and understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Whether it’s feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, basic care, or simply keeping them company, I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. I’m dependable, attentive, and committed to following your pet’s routine so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. Pet care is naturally set into my daily and weekly routine. I schedule my day around feeding times, walks, play time, and check-ins to ensure every pet gets consistent care. Mornings and evenings are dedicated to exercise, enrichment, and cuddles, while afternoons include potty breaks, supervision, and rest time. My schedule is flexible and intentionally designed so I can give every animal the attention, and time they deserve. When pets stay in my home, I create a safe, supervised, and comforting environment set to their needs. I maintain clean spaces, provide cozy rest areas, and offer play time. I follow the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, and preferred activities, so their stay feels familiar and stress-free. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my goal is to keep their routine uninterrupted. I handle feeding, walks, bathroom breaks, medication, playtime, and any specific instructions exactly as provided. I also respect the home environment by keeping everything tidy and secure. Whether in my home or yours, I focus on communication, safety, and reliable, compassionate care that helps pets feel calm, comfortable, and understood.
“Christina was able to help me on very short notice and stayed at my home for an entire week. From the moment she arrived, I felt completely at ease knowing my animals and home were in such capable hands. She was excellent about sending photos and updates throughout my trip, which gave me so much peace of mind. When I returned home, the house was spotless, and all of my animals were happy, healthy, and well cared for. One of the biggest challenges for me is finding someone who is experienced with a variety of animals—not just cats and dogs, but also goats, chickens, guinea fowl, and geese. Christina handled all of them with confidence and care. She is incredibly trustworthy, dependable, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. I am beyond happy with her services and cannot recommend her highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your pets and home as if they were her own, Christina is the one! ❤️🐾🐐🐓🪿”

“Jojo is fabulous all around. She spoiled both my dog and cat rotten. She sent us pictures and videos every single day and was extremely communicative. My Frenchie Luna even had an allergy outbreak and jojo gave her a bath for us with her medicated shampoo. I was blown away by her kindness, responsiveness and how she really went above and beyond.. even taking out the trash and cleaning up around the house before we returned home. 1000000/10. Will definitely be booking her for now on.”

About: I’ve had several pets growing up so I have years of experience playing and taking care of dogs and cats. I love going to the beach, park, or hiking so I can take the dogs with me on any adventures. I am currently working part time. I am available on most weekends to spend time taking care of the pets. I am pretty active so if the dog is high energy, I can take him/her out on a long walk/run. Currently, I live in an apartment with one dog. I can provide both at home or at clients home services as long as all house rules are given to me before hand.
About: Over 4 years of dog walking and pet sitting (references gladly available) Skilled in managing high-energy dogs — I love long walks, runs, fetch sessions, and active play Also experienced with senior, fragile, or special-needs dogs, making sure they’re handled gently and safely Volunteered at a local animal shelter in middle school, walking and socializing dogs In high school, volunteered ~1 year at Camden Veterinary Clinic, assisting with animal care, handling, and general support Participated in dog rescue efforts, including fostering, transport, and rehabilitation Comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments — from overactive pit mixes to nervous small breeds Dependable, responsible, and not squeamish — able to clean up accidents, administer oral medications, or assist with basic care One client often led to many: many bookings come via referrals I'm currently attending school at USC, which leaves me with plenty of time around my classes. I'm very observant and attuned to when a pet needs affection, exercise, or a bathroom break. I'm not intimidated by high-energy dogs. FAQs for House Sitting - Adger
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 618 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Adger. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Adger walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Adger maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Adger choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Adger. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
