“Ivy had a great time with James and I will definitely be using them again. Typically when meeting someone new, Ivy is timid, but with James they were fast friends and any anxiety I had about leaving her with someone new was gone. Highly recommend!”

“Wow! We lucked out choosing Emily as a sitter! She was fantastic. We needed a sitter at the last minute and Emily responded right away. We enjoyed meeting her and her sweet family. Our pup walked right in the door without a look back, like she was home. It was a blessing to be able to leave feeling like our pup was going to be fine. Emily sent messages and pics to reassure us that our old girl was settling in that evening and doing well the next morning. If we come back to this area again I would definitely ask for Emily. I’d highly recommend her to anyone. Thanks so much!”

“Autumn was great. Our dogsitter fell through last minute and Autumn stepped in to fill the gap. She communicated daily with updates and photos, and was very accomdating about pick up and drop off time adjustments. My senior (nearly blind) lab was happy upon my return.”

“Megan is such a wonderful dog sitter. Her love for dogs shines through and when we picked up Penny, Megan gave us feedback on the stay and how everything went. Penny was obviously comfortable with her and now I know we have a knowledgeable, trustworthy person we can count on to care for our dog when we are out of town.”

“By the best dog sitter in the area! Will definitely use her again! I 100% felt my dogs were in caring hands while out of town. Carrie and her family provided a safe and happy environment for my 2 pups! Ten stars!!!”

“Having Blue stay with Amanda was his first time ever spending a night without us! Amanda was extremely accommodating and so wonderful. She sent some pictures of Blue and her baby Cleo during his stay, and when we had our meet and greet I felt so at ease knowing Blue would be in good hands. It is so apparent that Amanda’s good vibes with animals made Blue’s stay a fun play date instead of a scary experience.”

“I feel really blessed to have found Pamela Pamela is a wonderful and caring sitter She made the experience exceptionally comfortable I would give her my highest recommendation and look forward to her taking care of Kiwi many more times in the future”

About: I've had about 3 years of experience doing pet sitting professionally, but I've been taking care of pets since childhood. I've mainly done work for neighbors or friends, and I've taken care of dogs big and small as well as cats. I've cared for pets who've had various conditions such as arthritis, cataracts, blindess, and deafness, and have experience administering time-sensitive medicine. Also, although I have not taken the steps to get certified as a trainer, I have helped assist a dog trainer many times and have experience in caring for "rowdy" or hyperactive pets. I'm currently a student, but have plenty of time available throughout the day! My schedule is most open during the morning (8am-10am), afternoon (2pm-5pm) and late night hours (8pm-11pm). But, if your pet needs care midday or during the evenings, I can be flexible and adjust accordingly. I make sure to treat your pets as if they were my own. I save any and all written or spoken instructions from owners to make sure pets are given care they are comfortable with and used to. When doing drop-ins, feeding and playing with pets are included. If requested I can also bathe and administer medicine to pets. When walking dogs, I spend 30-60 minutes with them depending on the pet and owner's requests and can walk them as many times a day as needed (within reason). Also, I can accomodate any personal preferences in regards to putting pets in crates, letting them in the backyard, etc. I'll also send picture updates of your pet after I'm done with every visit. I'm always open to questions and requests!
About: Howdy! My love for animals is ever growing! I have a few fur babies of my own, but I’m so excited to get to hang with the pets within my community! I’ve cared for a large range of animals- from brand new babes to old farts- cats, dogs, lizards, snakes, chickens, ducks, horses, goats, pigs, fish, etc! I currently have open availability! I’m in a transition period for my seasonal jobs, which means more time for adventures and cuddles with your pets! Regarding pups- I have one sweetie ole girl at home. If caring for the pets in my space, I like to do a pre-sit meeting to make sure they get along beforehand. (If that doesn’t work I can always keep them separated during the stay). We have a fenced in back yard with lots of room for the zoomies! & a few acres around us to roam if they have good recall. Regarding most other animals- would be happy to come to your place and follow your routine!

“Blaise was able to take care of me at a last minute reservation sent pictures and videos of my dog having fun and playing around was constantly updated he took very good care of her I highly recommend him”

“This was our first time leaving Boone somewhere, so we were a little nervous. Rachel, definitely gave us some comfort in that with her constant updates and photos on Boone’s stay! I really appreciated how patient she was with him and I would definitely use her again! Thank you again, Rachel!”
About: Hey there!! I've been around pets my whole life and absolutely LOVE them. We had a dog (dachshund) growing up as well as other animals like Rabbits and Guinea Pigs! I've had cats and dogs throughout my life as well. My bestie dog was named Sadie (corgi/husky mix) who was 17 when I had to let her go to the rainbow bridge March 2021...it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do 💔 I had her since she was about 1 yr old. She had a pacemaker put in about 2 yrs prior to passing and had a great life but I miss her like crazy. I've been Petsitting a long time but since Sadie passed, it's really helped heal my heart and has truly been a blessing. Most of my clients are from word of mouth over the years but I have this to help others get in touch with me if they need some help! I live in Lake Toxaway but I have jobs anywhere from Highlands, Cashiers, Sapphire, Lake Toxaway to Brevard. I mostly stay at my client's homes but I do bring some dogs to my house if it ends up being a better option. I also do drop-ins and daycare as well. I've done puppy care and senior care as too so that doesn't phase me. I also can do medication or treatments needed. If I'm booked up for in home pet care then I can do drop ins 2x a day for cats 🐱 I can possibly offer that for dogs too but they usually need it 3x a day. So that would all depend on my availability. I work part time caretaking properties/cleaning, and childcare so I'm mostly home! When I do need to leave I'm not gone more then 3-6 hrs, depending on the job. I can travel further if I can move jobs around in my area. I'm very flexible and try to make things work if I can! I currently don’t have a fenced in yard but I will walk around my neighborhood and have a decent sized backyard. I treat your babies like they're my own so they get lots of lovin. Sometimes we go to the State Park too! If they like car rides I'll take them to check my mail or little errands.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Addie.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
