“Rhonda was warm and friendly! It seems that Dakota had a very interesting visit with her. This was the first time we had him to a sitter. He came home exhausted and happy!!”

About: I am a true animal lover. I have a level of empathy for pets that most people think is crazy. Your pet is part of your family and will be part of mine as well. I have a lot of love to give. I am more then happy to accept a million phone calls and texts because I know top care is important. I am patient and understanding and take the time to help with house breaking and learn new tricks. I use to breed Siberian huskies. That is one of the most energetic and mischevious breeds out there. I help with a local rescue in rehoming and donations. I am also actively involved with helping take strays to local vets and following up with owners. My family consists of me, my husband and our five children. There is always someone to give love and attention. We keep our own pets somewhat on a schedule and we play a lot in our back yard. I have a large fenced in yard and three very active dogs who enjoy to play. I also have 5 indoor cats. I can easily crate if needed.
About: I have been raised around both dogs and cats. I have boarded dogs multiple times from a month up to a year with two cats that love meeting new friends. I have experience bathing and taking care of both dogs and cats and love to keep them entertained with playtime ,indoors for cats, and outdoors with dogs in the large fenced yard that gives them room to run around and play! Hi! I’m Morgan, and I’d love to welcome your dog into our home while you’re away. As a stay-at-home mom, I’m home throughout the day, so your pup will receive lots of attention, companionship, and care. I understand that every dog has their own routine and personality, and I’ll do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with us. Our home features a secure, fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely run and play, along with a quiet, dog-friendly neighborhood that’s perfect for daily walks and plenty of opportunities to explore. During your dog’s stay, you can expect: • Lots of supervised playtime and outdoor time • Daily walks (if your dog enjoys them) • Plenty of love, attention, and cuddles • Daily photo and video updates so you can see how they’re doing • Feeding and care based on your dog’s normal routine • Oral and other routine medication administration, if needed Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I ask that all dogs are up to date on vaccinations, are comfortable around young children, and are friendly with other people. I know how important it is to find someone you trust with your best friend. I’ll care for your dog as if they were my own and make sure they have a fun, safe, and loving stay. I look forward to meeting you and your pup! I care for all family members (animals) as the same way I do my own. If they are at my home they will have the best playtimes inside and outside (depending on type) with multiple toys and freedom to be comfortable with tons of cuddles! If I am at the owners home they will have that same freedom and following the owners wishes will still provide lots of playtime, cuddle time, and affection!
“Kristin was absolutely wonderful with O'Malley while we were away in Tennessee! This was the longest I had ever been away from him, and I was definitely a nervous dog mom. She kept me updated with pictures and messages throughout the weekend, which made it so much easier to enjoy our trip knowing he was in such good hands. O'Malley had a fantastic time and was clearly loved and cared for like one of her own. Kristin was kind, dependable, and communication was excellent from start to finish. Also, I packed O'Malley like he was heading off to summer camp with enough supplies for a month! complete with his own backpack full of toys, wipes, treats, grooming supplies, and labeled meals. 😂 Kristin was so prepared and attentive that she barely needed half of it! It just showed me how capable and experienced she is. I wouldn't hesitate to trust her with O'Malley again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will love and care for their pets like family. Thank you, Kristin, for taking such wonderful care of our boy! ❤️🐾”

About: As a stay at home and home school mom there is usually always someone home to love and play with our (your) animals. We have two daughters (17 & 15) and one son (10). *I’ve recently updated this profile to include the following: As an owner to two small dogs myself, I understand the worry and anxiety of leaving my small, fragile, pup, in the care of others who may have larger dogs coming and going where an accident can happen. I don’t like to take chances with one of my own, or one of yours getting hurt. Even by accident. I’ve recently updated my profile to only accept dogs up to a certain pound. This will help with my profile score, for the many dogs I’ve had to turn down. However, if you are a prior client, I will accept your larger dog (they’ve all been wonderful and fine because of my judgement at meet and greet) and in addition any future clients who have a small dog/big dog combo, I will consider a meet and greet to verify we would be a good fit and will make exceptions on a case by case. I will not be sitting for more than one family at a time. I’d like to advertise our service as a small dog oasis. We have tons of toys, treats, dogs beds, and love to offer to spoil and keep your little ones happy and safe. I know the peace and ease of mind I offer will stand out. I send pictures, and/or videos, daily, unless you ask me not to. I will also FaceTime you with your pet, upon request. * We have a 5 year old, 10lb Maltipoo, who acts more like an indoor cat, (sleeps a lot) and follows me everywhere, a 9 month old, 7lb, Malshi (Maltese Shitzu), who is a baby and wants to play with her toys all the time. We also have a 4 year old yellow lab, Sam, who acts like a lab. Aren’t they all full of energy? Sam likes to stay outside and loves his job as a guardian dog to our miniature goats. He comes in for freezing temperatures, over night to sleep, or heat advisories only. He’d rather be outside. All three get along with ALL animals, strays, neighbor’s yorkies’, neighbors dogs, etc. We have two acres of yard with a fenced in area that has a dog house, goat house, tree house, etc. which is where he stays. We are an animal loving family. No young kids that harm or hurt in any way. Your pets are guaranteed a “spoiled rotten” experience for sure. Schedule We are home most of the time. We let the pups run around and play inside. We prefer inside dogs over outside dogs, but will take the dogs outside many, many times to walk, run, and play. Just I inform us of their home habits of how often they like to go out. Safety, trust & environment- I am highly protective over the dogs well being. Safety and emotionally. We use leashes when walking/running your dog and to let them out to use the bathroom. Dogs are fed at separate locations to ensure no jealousy and fights. Not to mention stolen food and a hungry pup. The dogs we sit for sleep in the master bedroom. We sleep with the door shut. This is to ensure we can always have eyes and ears on your pup. No accidents or trouble to get into. They seem to like having the constant company around them, even if we are asleep, they know they’re not alone.
“Eric helped us out on short notice and was very responsive throughout the stay. Our dog, Mylo, was well taken care of and all tuckered out when we picked him up🙂 We will definitely reach out again when we are back in the area!”

“Christianna is wonderful! They are great with Copper, and she is usually always available late notice! I always receive pictures during the stay, and updates on food and potty breaks. Copper is always very excited when we arrive at Christianna's house, and he is always so happy when I pick him up. I would definitely recommend Christianna!!”

“We are so appreciative of Ricardo and his family opening up their home for our dogs. Taking it slow and making sure they have a good time while we are getting settled into our new house. We get pictures and updates throughout the day and our dogs are so excited to get there to spend the day. Very grateful to have found them nearby to us.”

“This family was great with my pomchi! They showed my puppy nothing but love and she loved them in return! I had to book with them last minute and they were okay with it and very flexible with their time and availability. I would definitely book again! Thank you so much!”

“Michael and his wife took such great care of our puppy and made me feel such at ease being away! He sent updates throughout the day and the pictures he took of her were amazing! Highly recommended, he is now my go-to person!”

“The best doggie day camp available. Julie, her boys, the dogs, cats, etc. took the best care of my 2 month old Aussie. Even working on obedience and crate training. Highly recommend.”

“Daisy had a great time with Cassandra and Tradd. She had a fun time playing with noodle and macaroni as well as their two children. Very thankful we found them and absolutely intend on reaching out the next time we are going out of town!”

About: Hello there! My name is Jessica & I have grown up with pets my whole life and have had experience with several other species which has included dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, and even fish. I'm even a fan of reptiles! I believe pets play a very important role in their human pals life and teach us so much about life and the kind of love that I have for my dog has taught me just that! Your pet(s) will find pals with my family & our dog Orie. Know that if you choose me to walk or watch your pet(s), they will be treated like a family member. Look forward to meeting your pet(s) and hopefully gain a new friendship through a mutual love for our animals.
About: I’ve taken care of my dog and my aunt’s dog since I was nine. I’m twenty now and both of my fur babies are still kicking, barking, and happy. I’ve always loved animals, even helping to rescue some when I was little such as these two baby ducks and other little birdies and frogs too. In school, my teacher had a pet chameleon and turtle and I always was excited to help feed them. I actually started majoring in Biology at first in college to be a veterinarian or zoologist. I have a different path now to help children but I still have a passion for pets and other beautiful creatures of this Earth. I will take care of your fur babies just like I did mine and love them just as much. I am a college student as mentioned before so my current schedule is MWF and Tues and Thurs to be free after 11:15 am. However, I do live on campus in Norfolk at ODU so I can take business there as well but mainly for dog walking and pet sitting at your residence. I do rely on my mother, brother or friends for transportation but they are willing to help snd be available as needed. Please give me a chance and you won’t regret it. :) I make sure the pets first get to know me, smell me, and recognize me to be comfortable with me. Then, I interact with them more by playing with them and giving them rubs and cuddles so they can feel more connected and comfortable. Then, definitely make sure they eat and drink the right food for their health and nourishment. Then, walk them so they can do their business and get exercise and always make sure they have a leash on. Next, make sure they are groomed and cleaned well and freshen up from the outdoors. Then spend more time with them until our fun is over and they are returned with their beloved owners. I will have a whole day well planned and you and your fur babies will appreciate it. :)
“We met Christina and her children in the grassy area in her cul de sac. Stevie had a wonderful day with them, to include playing in the backyard and going on a walk. Christina sent photos throughout the day, and was kind enough to drop Stevie off at her bff at the end of the day.”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
