About: I have over 20 years of experience with taking care of and raising both cats and dogs. I currently have 2 cats and 75lb pup who is 6 years old. In my lifetime, childhood included, I have had two other large dogs and 3 cats that are not my current pets. I would love to have more pets but being a single mom with two children, ages 15 and 17, life won’t allow it. I have pet sit and pet walked for my neighbors and friends both in their homes and mine. My full time job is a personal trainer so I stay active and love to be outside moving my body. Walking dogs just comes naturally as both a trainer and an animal lover. My two children are also animal lovers.

About: I have always had pets growing up as a child and my love for them has grown into my adulthood even more! My experience in Pet Care is from having my own pets and caring for family, friends and neighbors! I work full time but I have several days off during the week and off every other weekend! I’m available during the day evening and nights. I visit the the homes of clients to care for their pets while they are away. I make sure the animals are fed waters and walked. And you can’t forget about play time. I absolutely love animals of all kinds and ma an enthusiastic and loving provider.

About: We are long-time dog lovers and approved foster parents with the local SPCA! Jayne has experience caring for and training a reactive, traumatized dog, and the two of us have fostered puppies, medical fosters, and adopted our own 2 friendly dogs. We only offer availability on days where your dog will be well cared for. Rowan is a grad student off from class this summer and Jayne works a 10 min walk away. Your dogs will receive lots of love and attention! We have 2 rescue dogs who love to meet and play with new friends! Our home has a fenced in backyard and lots of toys. We can provide positive reinforcement for your pups, are comfortable with bathing them (if you would like!) and have toys all around!

About: I have been around dogs all my life, and have learned how to properly train them through experience and good mentors. I also have watched much of The Dog Whisperer & other training videos online. I’ve seen critiques of Cesar Milan, with people saying he’s unnecessarily enforcing dominance roles; I only support dominance hierarchies to the extent that it helps the dog. If a dog believes they must be in control because they don’t have a good leader, they will be more stressed out which is unfair to the dog. I will never be unnecessarily rough with your pet, but I may do exercises like leash training to remind them that I am in control, and they don’t need to be in extreme protector mode. I have used this experience with success on friends’ and acquaintances’ dogs, as well as my own. He sits for over a minute until I tell him to Come, for example. Our housemate had a dying dog and I was there alongside him helping her care for him until his last moments. I also believe in reincarnation which helps me really see and have extra patience with each dog as I see them as a soul who is here to learn and experience. My husband and I have a relaxed lifestyle that allows us to be home most days other than side jobs and catering shifts on the weekends. We are in the midst of moving a couple hours east of here, albeit very slowly, so if your pup is with us for a while there’s a chance he or she will get to see the rural area of Middlesex VA and interact with some chickens! Both areas are far away from a main highway or there is a good fence. I have two friendly dogs, a Pomeranian and a whippet mix. We let them in and out as they choose, and have a couple acres for them to run and play on. I love going for runs and walks and would happily bring your pup along, depending on his or her energy level. I have a healthy understanding of how to keep a healthy leash contact with the dog, and if need be, I am quite strong if I need to keep the dog from running.

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs for over 15 years for family members, neighbors, and friends. I moved from Alaska and have a very active lifestyle. I love to take animals on adventures, but also love cuddling on the couch at the end of the day. I work full time as a teacher but I am comfortable fitting pet care into my daily schedule. I can come home at lunch if needed to care for pets or accommodate to fit your needs. I have a huge fenced yard and tons of land to run around and enjoy. I have two friendly dogs and a cat who love other animals. When caring for pets in your home, I will follow your directions and make sure your animals are cared for as if they were my own.

About: A grew up in the family that treated dogs as extended family. I have dog sat many times through Rover but I am just now getting back into it after I adopted my 20 lb dachshund/min pin/pug mix named Buffy. She loves other dogs just like me, especially ones her size! But it is always good to meet beforehand because you never know how two dogs will vibe. Feel free to reach out and set something up! Every day I take my dog for walks and to the park sometimes. I’m am a recent graduate, job hunting so there’s lots of flexibility. I take Buffy out morning, noon, afternoon, and night. There’s several parks very close! No yard but I make up for it in long walks and lots of play. Dogs in my home are welcome on the furniture and encouraged to cuddle.
