“Danielle is amazing!! She has been walking my two pups on a regular basis for a few months. She is always on time and so communicative in how my pups did on their walk. I can tell Danielle cares for them like they are her own. I highly recommend her!”

“Ava was absolutely fantastic! She was reliable, professional, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. From the very beginning, she was communicative, punctual, and made me feel completely at ease knowing my dog was in such caring hands. She went above and beyond by making sure my dog got plenty of exercise and attention. I highly recommend Ava to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable dog walker. I'll definitely be using her services again. Thank you, Ava, for taking such wonderful care of my pup!”

“Tracy took excellent care of our dog! She very clearly loves animals and they love her back! Tracy provided great updates and photos throughout her time with our dog which made us feel at ease that she was in good hands!”

“Adrienne is thoughtful and caring and very very good at communicating. This is my 3rd time leaving my dog (a somewhat demanding pug) in her care. It will certainly not be our last.”

“Matthew was extremely flexible and patient managing the needs of our Siberian Husky, Bristol. He showed experience and good instincts managing Bristol's challenging behavior. We asked him to take Bristol for 30 minute walks each day and Matthew went above & beyond that request to make sure Bristol got sufficient exercise. We enjoyed our time away even more knowing Bristol was in good hands! 10/10 would recommend and use again!”

About: My family and friends have entrusted me to take care of their pets many times these last few years. The last 3 summers I have been lucky enough to do long-term stays with my friend's 4 dogs and cat to help build my experience with pets. Additionally, my family has 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks of our own, so I am no stranger to larger dogs! I am currently working part-time on the weekends so my week is normally pretty free. Since I am an incoming college student, I have some commitments throughout the summer, but have no problem talking about those with clients! I will treat your pets as if they were my own and make them as comfortable as possible while you are away. I know it can be a stressful time for them while your gone, so I hope to be a calming presence where they can relax and have fun!
“We are so grateful to have found Shelby! It's such a relief to know that my pup is getting exercise and attention while I am at work all day. I highly recommend Shelby!”

“Lauren was a pleasure to work with and having her help was greatly appreciated and our pups enjoyed her visiting ! She's very responsive and takes in feedback very well! I would recommend her to others.”

“Dominique is absolutely amazing with my dog Scarlet. From our initial meet and greet and all of her time and questions about my dog's specific needs, I knew she was a really caring and experienced dog handler. She knows my dog (unfortunately) loves to eat things off the ground and has to be watched liked a toddler, so she's incredibly attentive (and patient) with Scarlet. Would give Dominique 10 stars if I could and grateful to have her walking Scarlet on a weekly basis!”

“Maureen is wonderful with our dog Vinnie! He doesn't like other dogs and she takes great care when walking him around the neighborhood. He really likes her too! Maureen is responsive and always prompt and sends us lots of pics with updates. Highly recommend!”

About: I've been taking care of pets since elementary school, starting with helping neighbors. I have a natural affinity with all animals and am known for my patience in understanding and addressing their unique needs. I have my own dog, whom I've been caring for over the past nine years. Additionally, I've frequently looked after family members' dogs during their vacations or whenever they needed a sitter. My experience, combined with my genuine love for animals, ensures that every pet in my care receives the utmost attention and affection. I am currently available from 6 am until 11 pm for all your pets needs. I do have flexibility in my schedule so if anything needs to be discussed I am definitely open to that! In my home, pets enjoy a comfortable, clean, and supervised environment. I maintain a regular routine for feeding, exercise, and rest to keep them happy and healthy. I have a secure backyard for safe outdoor play and regular walks to keep them active and stimulated. When caring for pets in my client's home, I adhere strictly to the provided care instructions and routines. I maintain open communication with the owners, providing regular updates and photos to reassure them that their pets are well taken care of. I am vigilant about home security, ensuring all doors and gates are properly closed and locked. My goal is to create a stress-free experience for both the pets and their owners, building a bond of trust and ensuring every pet feels loved and secure in my care.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. I have grown up with dogs, and love all dogs. Neighbors and family members have relied on me to take care of their dogs. This includes feeding, exercising, medication and play time! I am experienced with handling puppies and with senior dogs as well. I currently don’t have any other commitments, so I have plenty of time to play and take care of your doggies! I’m available Sunday through Saturday all day and or night. I will follow set instructions if you have any in regards to being in your home. Otherwise, I will care for your beloved puppy like they are my own and use my judgment.
About: First I just want it to be known that I am willing to work with clients on pay rates and negotiate to a rate that fits for both of us. The rates listed are not set in stone. I have cared for cats, small-large dogs in various breeds (Beagles, Pitbull's, Labs, Shelty's, and more) for several years now for close friends and family near the Frederick area. I also have experience with smaller animals like Guinea Pigs, Gerbils, Bunnies, Fish, Turtles, and Hermit Crabs. I myself have a 6 year old Beagle and have been taking care of her for the passed 5 years now. I am home from college for summer break and will be available most weeks days in the evenings and some weekends. Other than work and preparing for school events I will not have much on my plate, giving plenty of time to care for your pets. I care for my clients pets with upmost care and love while maintaining expectations of what the client needs or prefers for their pets. This may include taking your dogs for daily walks, playing with them, making sure they are fed, bathing them, cleaning up any potty accidents, and spending quality time with them to keep company while their owners are away. For cats this may include keeping their litter boxes clean, making sure they are fed of course, playing with them, and quality time as well. I rely on clients to give me information on their pets routines so the pets themselves aren't as confused with a new person taking care of them.
About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was little. I can really connect with them easily! It makes me happy that your pets are taken care of! Anytime, just let me know! I take time in my schedule to go to the gym as well, but that can be moved around if anything pops up! I have a fenced yard, so for my dogs I usually get toys out and play with them for a good bit. Maybe throw in some training treats for new skills. I can walk your pets, and learn what they love doing in your home! Even if that means cuddle time too!
“Nancy is fantastic. She takes my dog for a walk multiple times a week. She's very reliable and gives me feedback on my pet after each walk. She's on time and keeps my mind at ease to focus on work when I'm at work. Nancy and my dog really seem to enjoy their time together each day. I would definitely recommend Nancy to anyone needing a kind and responsible person to care for their pet.”

About: I have taken care of dogs of all sizes, as well as a few cats, for years in a more casual setting. I usually sit for friends, family friends, and neighbors, usually through check-ins, and only a few times with boarding in my own home. I have two dogs of my own, ages 5 and 9mo who were both raised from puppies, so I have basic puppy training and grooming skills. I also have experience with dogs who need regular medication or who have specialized/specific diets. I am open to caring for any pets except birds, special needs/sensitive reptiles, and insects. I am currently a student at Penn State and I am looking for summer job in my hometown. I would most likely be free at almost any time during the week and would be open to over night stays as well with prior notice. I would be open to set a meeting with you and your pet before house sitting or check-in dates to discuss schedules and specifics as well as to meet your pet. I am currently unable to sit at my own house. My contact info will be provided and I will be available for call at all points during my care for your pet.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
