“This is our third time hiring Merit as our pet sitter while on vacation. She is absolutely wonderful and provides excellent care to all of our fur babies. We have one senior cat with special medical needs and she takes the time to provide the medication to her at each PM visit at not extra fee. She also watches over our hens and most recently, we added two goats to our property for a 4-H project and she tended to them as well. This was a HUGE help knowing while we are away everyone was being cared for as they need to be. She provides very detailed updates with plenty of photos to show what the fur babies are up to. We are already looking at another trip to move our oldest into college later this summer and will definitely be hiring Merit if she's available to sit for our fur babies once again! If you are looking for someone reliable, prompt, caring, and detail oriented our family would highly suggest hiring Merit as your pet sitter! She goes above and beyond to provide care to our furry family.”

“Donnis was amazing with my high maintenance Pomeranian. I am an overly anxious dog mom but she made me feel so comfortable while I was away. I’ll definitely be using her again in the future. Thank you so much, Donnis!”

About: I will love your pet like my own and if you ask my friends they will tell you that they would love to live as one of my dogs. I have had dogs since I was very young and work hard to include them in all aspects of my life. I have also had litters and cared for and found them well suited loving homes. I have been a volunteer with the humane society and Patriot Paws for many years. My goldens are well behaved and love working on commands, so I am happy to continue any training you might want your dog to keep practicing while you are away. Nothing makes me happier than being near dogs, so I guarantee your dog will have my utmost attention. If requesting boarding or daily day care, your dog must be friendly with other dogs. Happy to provide multiple references that I regularly watch their dogs outside of Rover also. I work from home so I am with my dogs 24/7. I spend a lot of time outside playing with them throughout the day and fetch. I have 2 dogs and a huge fenced in yard to keep your dog company. My house sits on 3 acres that is fully fenced in so there is plenty of room for dogs to run. In spring and summer I also have multiple hard plastic small pools they can lounge in.

“She is simply the best! Always punctual, follows all the instructions and give a lot of love to my fur babies. My dogs love her and I will be using her services forever.”

About: At 28 Years Old, I have nearly always had a dog living with me. 8 dogs have been apart of my life in the past and currently 4 reside in our large loving home. Nearly every single one of my dogs have been rescued and cared for, where I try my best to change my own routine to better fit their needs rather than trying to change them to fit my own. In the past years I have boarded relatives' dogs at my own home and would like to continue helping dog parents with any dog care they might need. Because I've had so many dogs in my life, I have had to experience both the beginning and end of their lives. I especially enjoy giving extra care to senior dogs to make sure they are most comfortable in the golden age of their lives. I am working only part time so I have plenty of time to give your dogs as little or as much attention as you need. My schedule is extremely flexible. Weekends or Weekdays are perfect for me. My home sits on a hilly and forested 3 acres, with fenced in portions as well as a long circular driveway perfect for walks! In the fenced area, there is a pool perfect for any water loving dog in the summer! There is also an enclosed run of chickens that are unbothered by any rambunctious and curious dogs. Currently we have 4 dogs, one an outdoor Rottweiler dog that is all too happy to play with another dog, but with her own separated fenced in area. We have 4 indoor dogs, 2 Rat Terriers and 2 Chihuahua. All of them have shown friendly tendencies to unfamiliar dogs of similar size. They have had mixed feelings over larger dogs and I know that not all dogs enjoy the company of others. Should your own dog be more comfortable being alone and dislike other dogs, our house is set up in a way that your own dog can have their own private space away from my dogs and still get whatever attention is needed while still allowing my own dogs ample space.
“Elizabeth was absolutely phenomenal!!!! She helped out last minute when a sitter did not show up & has been an absolute blessing taking care of our sweet pup. She showed up & loved on him. I felt so comfortable knowing that she was there for him. She also did an incredible job communicating with me which I greatly appreciate.”

About: I've cared for dogs and cats my entire life. I've studied animal cognition, behavior, and training. I've participated in obedience training, agility, and my prior pets were Canine Good Citizen certified. I have worked with both dogs and cats and a variety of breeds including high energy herding breeds. I have a large 1 acre fenced yard that is perfect for running, playing, and getting the ya yas out! I am currently avilable anytime (weekdays, evenings, and weekends) for boarding or doggie daycare at my home or drop-in visits at your home. I have plenty of time to spoil your furbabies! I have a large home and beautiful and secure 1 acre fenced yard in a lovely neighborhood. I currently don't have any pets so those furbabies that don't get a long with others can be the center of attention here!
“We could not have asked for someone better than Clare to care for our dog. She is amazing! She went above and beyond our expectations and it felt like we had left our pup in the hands of family. I will always choose Clare if available. Thank you sooo much! Also, she takes the best pics of your animals. Our dog has never been as photogenic for us as she was Clare. ❤️”

“Stephanie was phenomenal! She was so sweet to our boy while we were on vacation. Our Great Pyrenees, Brodie, recently lost his furry brother and we were worried about leaving him because he has been lonely. Stephanie took such great care of him and spent time with him so we didn’t have a worry in the world. I HIGHLY recommend her for any of your pet sitting needs!!”

“Sarah was amazing! My dog Charlie seemed to like her very much and she was well taken care of while we were on vacation. She went above and beyond and I will definitely be reaching back out to her to watch Charlie next time we’re out of town again.”

“Abigail was absolutely wonderful with our cats. She took the time to make sure they were truly well cared for and went above and beyond to make them feel comfortable , even our shy kitty warmed up to her. She did us a huge favor by accepting a last-minute booking, which we were so grateful for. Her communication was excellent from start to finish. She kept us updated, was responsive, and clearly cares about the animals she looks after. She’s incredibly friendly, responsible, and genuinely kind. We would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. She’s the best!”

“Barbara is wonderful. She was such a caring sitter for my older dog Oreo while we were out of town. She was thankfully able to fit us in for a last-minute booking, which helped us out tremendously. She was also great about making us comfortable leaving our dog for the first time with a sitter. Oreo took to her right away like a family member. Barbara was always on time and went above and beyond for our drop in visits. She responds very promptly, pays attention to details, has great communication and kept us updated with all of Oreo’s activities with every visit. She sent very thorough updates and lots of pictures. She was great about anticipating my dogs needs and communicating with me to manage situations as they arose. (She even brought my packages in off the porch). I felt comfortable trusting her in my home. I highly recommend Barbara, and will be looking forward to booking her again in the future.”

About: I’ve always grown up with a wagging tail by my side. With 4 labradors and a past as a kennel technician; I’ve cared for all ages of pups. From the babies with little toe beans, to the cute little powdered sugar faces. I will care for any pet like my own. I’m currently open to any walk or drop in any time of the day Monday-Friday. I will make sure to communicate and update my profile to fit my schedule. I will care for the pet as loving as possible and make sure to follow the owners needs for the pet. I am aware of my surroundings and the pets at all times to make sure they are safe.
About: My first pet was a lab/doberman mix named Mickey. I grew up right alongside Mickey, and, since it was my idea to get a puppy, I often found myself at the forefront of his care. I also quite often walk my friend's dog as well (she had a great dane), so I would say that I have plenty of experience handling big dogs! With that being said, I love to care for all kinds of animals, and I look forward to getting to know you and your furry friends! I currently am a part time student and work part time as a pharmacy technician. I am looking for regular, fun work experience with some pretty great animals! I walked my dog four times and a day fed him on a set schedule. This always allowed us to exercise and build a routine!
“Taylor is a true treasure to work with! Our pups warmed up to her quickly. Taylor is great with communication, dependable and shows a natural affinity in working with animals; we are blessed to have her :)”
“Kelly was a great fit for us! She made sure to ask all the important questions at our meet and greet to make sure Maple was comfortable with her and she sent me tons of pictures to ensure I knew Maple was in good hands! We hope we can use Kelly to let Maple out the next time we go on a day trip or have plans that don’t allow pets!”

About: Majority of my years with Rover have been in NYC and have had a great reputation with them as well as my clients. I care for my own dogs (frenchie/boston terrier mix and a boston terrier) as if they were my daughters. Well trained and taken care for emotionally and physically. I have always been a dog person and never have found a dog I have not gotten along with. Aside for studying voice acting, I work a part-time job so I am usually available. I keep clients updated at all times, especially with housesitting appointments. I have babysat, walked and cared for many dogs and have always been praised for my patient, loving treatment of them. I will play with them, feed and care for them however needed. If there are any special needs, I am willing to accommodate as well. My time is flexible. I always put work first and my personal schedule works around that. I like to make sure at the very least, the basic needs of pets are taken care of before anything else. I have a fenced yard and a play pen for small dogs. Toys, water bowls if needed, and will give attention and playtime if your dog is an active.

About: I have a year of professional experience working at a busy dog daycare where I care for dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I’ve had pets my whole life and truly love being around animals. I currently work at a dog daycare, so caring for animals is already a big part of my daily routine. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting after work and on my days off. I’m used to handling dogs of different sizes, energy levels, and personalities, and I always make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and care while their owners are away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are really important to me. I currently work at a dog daycare, so I’m used to reading dog behavior and handling dogs with different personalities and energy levels. I always try to make pets feel comfortable by sticking to their normal routines, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or just giving them attention while their owner is away. I’m also comfortable administering medications if needed.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Youth. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
