“We recommend Megan without reservation. After leaving her responsible for our fur babies during an extended absence, we were so pleased and impressed with her responses to several unplanned situations. When we were not home to handle unanticipated pet/house events, she did just as well, if not better than we would have. Her level of dedication and genuine care for our fur babies is beyond what we could have asked for. Thanks again, Megan!”

“Hannah is so professional and clearly knows how to care for dogs! She kept in touch and sent photos. Our dog loved having her come and play while we were gone. She went above and beyond! Highly recommend!”

“Justine has been absolutely amazing! She spends so much time with my pets and makes every effort to understand their personalities and needs. I am so grateful for her!”

About: I’ve grown up around and taken care of pets my whole life, from itty bitty kittens to old dogs, and recently a bunny! I have two cats that are essentially my children, and I know that whenever I’m away from home I worry about them - I always take care of others’ pets the way I want mine to be treated. I work from home and make my own hours, so my daily routine is incredibly flexible. I’m comfortable staying with your pet as long as you’d like for drop-ins and walks! Taking care of pets includes respecting the space they live in, and by extension the space you live in! I know it’s weird to have a stranger in your home when you’re not there, so I’ll only mess with the stuff I have to in order to take good care of your pet, and whatever I don’t need to touch, I won’t. I’m comfortable administering medication to pets that need it, and I absolutely understand the need to accommodate pickiness. I’ll follow any instructions you leave me word-for-word, and make sure your pet gets to be as comfortable and safe as possible until its people get back home!

About: As avid pet lovers and experienced caregivers, we bring a wealth of knowledge and affection to dog sitting. With years of hands-on experience, we understand the importance of creating a safe, nurturing environment for furry friends. From daily walks to interactive playtime, we prioritize the well-being and happiness of each dog under our care. We are adept at following specific care instructions, administering medications if needed, and providing plenty of love and attention. Our commitment to responsible pet care ensures that owners can trust their beloved companions are in capable hands while they're away. Matt is 100% remote so works from home every day. He is able to provide around the clock care for your pets including walks and play time. We provide the individualized care that is needed for your pet. We provide walks, companionship, play time, feeding and medication services, bathing for an additional price, etc. Since we do not have a fenced in yard, we will only take your pet out on a leash to ensure their safety. Our cats stay in the basement during boarding stays so there will be no interaction between them.

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals since I was a kid and have grown up to be a pet loving person! I’ve taken care of dogs of many sizes so it shouldn’t be a challenge for me. I have experience in dog walking and dog care. I have two cats and a small dog that I care for on a daily basis. I am available almost everyday to help care for your beloved animals. I am able to be flexible with drop in times. I currently take care of one dog and two cats. My dog goes on walks everyday and they get fed twice a day. I feed my cats twice daily and clean their litter every other day, they get plenty of cuddles and play time.

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong dog lover who finds true joy in caring for animals and keeping them happy, healthy, and loved - especially while their family is away. Whether it’s a peaceful walk around the neighborhood (and all the sniffs!) or a quick drop in visit, your pet will be in caring and capable hands. I’ve always had a nurturing nature and have 2 dogs of my own. I’m dependable, detail-oriented and committed to ensuring your pet feels safe and loved while you’re away on vacation or just at work! I’d love to help 🫶🏼 I work remotely for a flexible IT startup and certainly have the availability for walks and drop-ins at any time of the day. Weekends are flexible as well. Your pets well-being is my top priority. I will get to learn their personality and quirks, what makes them happy, and ensure I can make them feel secure and content. For walks, I will always like to have a harness, let them go at their pace, and of course enjoys themselves! During drop-ins visits, I will follow your instructions carefully (feeding, medications, potty breaks, etc.) and always be mindful that your home stays secure - locking doors, cleaning up messes, etc. I will also send regular text updates and Photos so you know how your pet is doing! Building trust with both pets and their family is important to me, and I will treat your pup and home with the same care and respect I’d want for my own.

About: With over six years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant and a background in Veterinary Technician studies, I have developed strong skills in caring for a diverse array of pets. After taking time off to be a stay-at-home mom, I am eager to bring my expertise and passion for animal care back into the field! I am available on Friday and Saturday evenings after 6pm and Sunday and Mondays throughout the day! This schedule is subject to change due to being a full time stay at home momma. In clients homes I respect boundaries and upkeep the areas your pets use. I will ensure they are comfort and trusting of me before approaching and interacting!

“Our puppy had a few days of diarrhea episodes and Julia took the extra time to give her a bath after an accident during her drop in visit. She went above and beyond. We are very appreciative!!”

About: Love all animals and will take care of any pet. Will make sure to make sure to play with them for a while each visit to ensure they are happy while you are away. Can usually do any time on any day of the week. Am planning to do this for my summer break before I leave for college. I will gently discipline if needed but mostly will just show affection and play with the animal. I find it most important to make sure they are happy while you are away.

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a farm surrounded by all sorts of creatures, and that early love has stayed with me. While I’m new to Roanoke, I previously supported the DC/NOVA area through Wag! for several years and am now looking forward to building connections with pet families here in my community. As a remote worker with a flexible schedule, I’m able to spend quality time with the animals I care for — whether they’re full of energy or need a little extra support. I’m comfortable with all kinds of animals, routines, and temperaments, and I do my best to honor what each one needs. Over the years, I’ve cared for many senior and special needs animals, including my two old-ladies, Chrissy and Raspy, who passed away this winter. I’m now kept on my toes by two playful kittens, Joan and Lirael. No matter their age, health, or temperament - I'm able to show up with consistency, patience, and care. I aim to be someone you can trust - not just to care for your animals - but to respect your home, follow routines closely, and communicate clearly while you’re away. I’m happy to accommodate last-minute bookings when I can, but advanced notice is always appreciated. Looking forward to meeting you and your fur-fam! I'm currently a remote worker with a flexible schedule. If I am staying in your home, I can work remotely from that location and keep a close eye on your pet. If I stopping in for a quick visit, I can generally drop in any time before 9am, during lunch, or after 4pm. Different times could also be arranged with some planning. I aim to be someone you can trust not just to care for your animals, but to respect your home, follow routines closely, and communicate clearly while you’re away. I’m happy to accommodate last-minute bookings when I can, but advanced notice is always appreciated.

I am someone who is a deep cleaner and makes sure all pets are in a great mood I work a regular 40-hour week job but i have as much flexibility as possible with having my schedule three weeks in advance. I can come in the early morning and late evenings. I have a happy 2 year old male cat who is energetic at times as well as a big cuddle bug so I’m able to keep cats entertained and comfortable

Justine W.Star Sitter

“Justine has been absolutely amazing! She spends so much time with my pets and makes every effort to understand their personalities and needs. I am so grateful for her!”

Autumn B.
“Autumn is a dog whisperer. Probably a cat, chicken, snake and hamster whisperer too. She has cared for our 2 dogs and house numerous times while we were traveling. This included staying with our 2-year-old coon hound who had extreme anxiety issues at the time. Autumn managed like a pro. She even taught him to sit on the rug in front of the kitchen sink while she was cooking or working in the kitchen, a practice we reenforced and that he continues to this day. We are grateful to have such a kind, patient person to care for our sweet pups when we're away.”

Erin & Matthew K.Star Sitter
“Erin has been a colleague of mine at Va Western Community College for about 3 years, and it took approximately one shift for me to realize we had acquired an AWESOME hire. Her work is impeccable, as is her attention to detail; she is calm in the face of pressure; both intuitive and logic-driven; a quick learner; and just plain smart. If I assign a task or project to Erin, I know it will be done on time and properly. More importantly, she's good people. She is compassionate and loves to dote on both pets and humans alike! While I haven't needed her to look after my own pets, I would unquestionably do so if needed. I hear many adoring tales Erin tells about her own cats, and also hear her inquire about others' pets, eager to check in on their wellbeing and see the latest pictures we've taken of our furbabies. A few more Erin-adjectives popped in my head as I've been typing: punctual, responsive, responsible, reliable, and comforting. What more could you ask for?! ; ) I'm happy to offer this recommendation for Erin K and have full confidence you won't regret a decision to hire her!”

Carol G.Star Sitter

“This was our first time using Rover, and Carol was super helpful in explaining the process, communicating throughout, and taking care of our cat over the holidays!”

“Taylor has cared for my two dogs for about 6 years now, she loves them and cares for them as if they were her own! Taylor always leaves my place in perfect shape when I’m out of town. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a dog or cat sitter!”

Victoria S.
“Victoria is compassionate and hardworking. Her care for animals is sincere and allowing her to spend time with your pets would be pleasure. I’ve know her for several years and have had the opportunity to work with her at multiple jobs. She is personable, and communicative but assertive. She is also knowledgeable with animals especially with dogs. Understanding dog behavior is a very important whether it’s being a kennel worker, a veterinarian, or a dog walker understanding behavior and reading the dog is a crucial step in providing the best of care for any pet. I believe that Victoria would be a right fit for this position.”

Holt K.
“Holt did an amazing job caring for our pets! He communicated very well with us during our entire time away and the pets love him (even our grumpy old dog who does not trust many people!). We would definitely recommend Holt!”

Alys S.
“Alys adores pets and is a brilliant pet sitter. She takes care to meet your critter where they're at, see to their needs, and make sure they feel loved while their owners are away. I lean on her to help take of my pup and recommend her to anyone needing a pet walker/sitter!”
