“This was my dog Ozzy’s first boarding outside our house. From the minute he met John, I knew everything was going to be alright. John got down on the floor when introducing himself to Ozzy. With Ozzy being apprehensive meeting new people, I was concerned, but Ozzy took to John immediately. I was impressed by John keeping written notes regarding Ozzy’s preferences and eating times. We did a meet and greet initially, so that Ozzy would be familiar. On the day I dropped Ozzy off, he was already comfortable in John’s lovely home. John sent photos and text updates to let me know how Ozzy was doing. I would definitely recommend John. He is definitely a dog whisperer.”

“Sam was fantastic! She was always on time and sent detailed information about what my cats were up to. She was also responsive and easy to schedule with before I left, even when my travel plans changed last minute. I never had to worry about what was going on so I could enjoy my time away!”

About: I've been around cats of various personalities since I was very young. I have pet- and house-sat for friends and family for many years now, and it is a genuine joy to spoil their pets rotten. I have owned and pet-sat senior cats many times, and I have a decent amount of experience with oral medication. I get along great with pets of all kinds of temperaments—shy, excited, grumpy, calm, anxious—and I am not afraid to sit for pets with "difficult" temperaments, just let me know beforehand.

“This was my first time using Rover and was a bit nervous to leave my kitty with someone new, but Sarah was excellent. She went above and beyond (even fixing a stuck lock on my front door), and my cat seemed to really love her despite being scared of anything that moves. She was very friendly, and I couldn’t have hoped for a better sitter. Will definitely be booking her for my next trip:)”

“Katlin was awesome! She stopped by and checked ok my cat. She was great at communicating with me. She sent me so many photos and videos! I will definitely be hiring her again ☺️”

“Becca has sat now twice for my kitties and she is just fantastic. In addition to playing with my friendly cat, she takes her time with my fussy cat to meet him where he is and she never gave up on coaxing him into playtime, so he would get some stimulation while I was away. I really can't say enough about how great Becca is!”

“Ashley always does a great job with my cats and sends cute photos so you know your babies are safe and sound. Highly recommend her to anyone who needs a kind and experienced sitter!”

“Emily was absolutely wonderful with our 2 senior kitties! She sent lots of pics and was an excellent communicator with us throughout our stay. She treated our home with respect and care and did an amazing job getting everything in place before we came home. Don’t hesitate to book Emily for your pets, she is a gem!”

“Taylor did a great job watching our pups for around a week! 3 pups multiple visits per day and she was very accommodating to their needs and schedule. Pups were very well taken care of and Taylor went above and beyond to keep them company especially during a storm. We didn’t have to worry about them while we were out of town and it was very reassuring. Taylor was very professional and provided wonderful care for our pups! Frequent updates were provided and the pups were very happy! Would recommend her to anyone that needs their pups watched!”

“Absolutely a wonderful person and her kids are great to with my tiny pups 🐶! Even though she babysits bigger dogs, they all helped my tony pups adjust to the environment and was absolutely loved!”

“Emily did such a great job helping us feel more comfortable with leaving our dog Gamora at daycare. She has never stayed with a stranger before just close family. I think Gamora really enjoyed her stay with Emily, she got to play with some new friends and came home tired and content. We are very grateful to find someone we can trust to watch our baby (Gamora🐶).”

“Chloe was really great to work with our big dog. He has separation anxiety and can be a nervous and shy dog. She did a meet and greet beforehand, listened and asked questions about him. She also sent lots of photos and updates on his first day to make sure we knew he had settled and was doing okay. Really great experience to have for our 80lbs sensitive boy. Thank you!”

“Marah is the best dogsitter on this app. She will treat your dog like it's hers. My dog loves going to Marah's and she is always tired and happy when I pick her up. Marah is extremely friendly and makes sure that your dog is well taken care of. I never have to worry about my dog with her because she will have the best of care! I would give Marah a 10 out 5 if I could.”

“We could not have asked for a better experience with Kimberly! She’s communicative and flexible, and Wilson is happy and tired after a fun day of playing! We look forward to many more fun days for Wilson with her!”

“Shelby kindly accepted our last-minute request for a half-day daycare and took great care of Sancho. He seemed to have a wonderful time, and Shelby kept us updated with a photo. Thank you so much, Shelby!”

“Penny and Evan were great with our little “high anxiety” fur baby. During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Knowing about his anxiety, once we went back inside, Penny never tried to pet him, she just allowed him to get used to her being in the room. She was a very calming presence for him. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. We are thrilled to have found Penny and Even and the bonus is that they live about 4 minutes from our house! We have already booked the next daycare appointment!”

“Zoe was great! She was always on-schedule and was very patient with my weird little girl. She does things like hiding when it's time to go out and then pulling a LOT once you finally get her out. But Zoe never complained and always hung around with the baby for a few minutes of love and play after the walk. My schedule has changed and no longer need a dog-walker, but if I ever need one again, will definitely look for her!”

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a farm surrounded by all sorts of creatures, and that early love has stayed with me. I keep a clean and pet-friendly environment at home with plenty of space to relax and a backyard to run around and enjoy time outside. My family will also love spending time with your pet and giving them lots of attention!
“Sidney did an incredible job with my German Shepherd! She sent pictures and checked in regularly to put me at ease. If you’re in Roanoke, Sidney as your pet sitter is the best choice you can make!!”

“Gretchen is an amazing person, loving and caring. She's great with our baby girl Star. Every time we need someone to watch Star we were happy to know that Gretchen was there, Star loves coming to see her, she runs and hugs her every time she sees her. Gretchen keeps us updated, gives Star her medications and that's something that we appreciate. Gretchen goes above and beyond for Star, she definitely works with us (one time we needed to modify the reservation and add days since I was in the hospital and she gladly took care of Star, she even went out of her way and got Star food and supplies that she needed). We trust her and are beyond happy knowing that our Star is well taken care of.”

“They were absolutely wonderful and super nice. They took Reggie on short notice but gave him all sorts of love and cuddles. Their dogs upon first meeting did not react negatively with our dog and was not territorial at all. We got text notifications from them and they sent photos before bed to let us know how he’s doing. We felt super comfortable leaving our pup with them. If I lived in the Roanoke area they would absolutely be my number one choice every time! I cannot express how grateful I am for them.”
