“Lexi was fantastic! She did exactly what needed to be done , then went above and beyond what I thought would happen, getting my kitties to come out for attention ( they are extremely shy). I would highly recommend Lexi for ANY pet sitting activities you would need her for… she is kind, attentive and dedicated. Definitely hire her!”

“Charlotte did an excellent job caring for my adorable but unpredictable kitties. I will definitely book her again. I feel so much more comfortable knowing Mr. Peabody and Zuzu are in capable caring hands with Charlotte.”

“Bethany did a great job taking care of our cats while we were on vacation. She was very dependable showing up twice daily, on time as scheduled. She was communicative and very personable. We had great peace of mind knowing she was taking care of our pets. She clearly loves animals and taking care of other people's pets. We highly recommend her.”

About: I've had dogs for many years of my life, even though I dont currently have any, I'm still well versed in caring for them. I'm a lover of all animals ! I'm a current pet owner, and work day shifts at a nursing facility in the dementia unit. I have 2 small children and work on an as needed schedule so I can be home to get the kids to and from school. I have plenty of time to care for pets on a daily basis. I have cared for friends pets while they are away. I am well versed in administering medications and insulin injections to cats. I am willing to take dogs out for walks or just letting them outside (whichever you prefer). I am comfortable crating dogs back up before leaving.
About: I am currently a college student, and I'm home for the summer. I have had cats in the house since I was 4 years old, so I have a lot of experience with them! I currently have two cats, Curry and Mochi. We adopted them both from Cozy Cat Cottage, which is also where I used to volunteer. My experience owning cats and volunteering for a cat shelter helped foster a love and understanding for cats. I am very patient with them as some cats are more reserved and difficult to socialize, even our own Mochi! I'm happy to spend quality time with your cats because I understand that cats need stimulation especially while their owners are gone. I am also entrusted with regularly taking care of my friend's bird, so I can also watch a variety of animals if needed. Currently, I am not working, so I can drop by anytime! I go back to school on the 15th of August, so my availability will be limited until December. For your cat's safety, I'll make sure to take any special security measures needed. I'll follow any orders of gates needed and make sure to cat-proof anything by making sure everything is where it belongs. From personal experience, Curry enjoys going outside, but he is a runner so I understand the importance of keeping cats indoors or taking them on supervised walks if necessary.
“I have total faith in Stephanie. She keeps in contact with me about the pets, sends pics, informs us if anything seems unusual. She's a great pet sitter! Will definitely use her again.”

“Emma did such a great job dropping in on my cat Reggie. She kept me informed everyday and sent lots of pictures and updates. So happy to have found her! Thanks Emma can’t wait to book you again!”

“Michael gave excellent care of Beaner. He was very conscientious in taking notes as to how he was to do care, plus he gave personal attention to my cat. My cat appeared happy when I returned, and that is always a good sign! He is an animal person at heart, and I would not hesitate in having him come back again. Thank you, Michael!”
About: Growing up, I helped with caring for my elderly dogs, who sadly passed away due to old age during the pandemic. Currently, I am responsible for the well-being of my own cat, Albert. During my high school years at a boarding school with a farm, I gained valuable experience working with animals. I provided general care for the goats, pigs, and chickens. Additionally, I held the position of Small Mammals Manager, which involved overseeing the barn cats, ensuring they received regular attention, veterinary care, extra care when sick, and a clean loving environment. I am a huge animal lover who is excited to help people with their pets care. I a currently in college, which allows me the some flexibility to engage in various activities. However your pets care will of course be my top priority. I've had my cat since I was thirteen, and he's one of my favorite companions. I clean his litter box daily, and he enjoys dry and wet food with the occasional treat. He's cuddly and likes watching birds outside the window. He responds when I call usually, but being a cat he only really responds when he wants to. He can be mischievous, like opening treat containers or playfully attacking my feet under blankets. Overall, he's well-behaved, and I've even taught him a simple fist bump trick. My two rats are recent additions to my home, and I researched their needs carefully to ensure their happiness. They live in a spacious cage with room to run and hide. They get daily playtime with me, and despite Bean's partial blindness and shyness, our bond is growing. When I care for your pet, whether it's walking or multi-day care, you can expect the same love and attention I give to my own furry friends.

I will make sure that I treat your dog with as much love and care as you treat them and with as much love and care as I treat my own dog! I am a teacher during the day, so I will be available to walk, play, or visit your dog any day starting at 5pm. If you need me to house sit for you and your dog, I can happily do that on the weekends at any time! I am an animal lover through and through and I hope I will be able to care for your dog, or dogs, soon!

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
