About: People often say I have a way with animals. They always seem drawn to me immediately, even when they are wary of others. I feel honored that animals feel this way about me because I feel the same about them! I have cared for many dogs of all sizes as well as owned cats. I have volunteered at a dog rescue in Thailand that has many disabled dogs as well as fostered cats/kittens here at home. I am an empty nester and would love to care for your four legged family members while you are away. Although I will never replace you, I can provide love and safety until you return (and probably some treats and adventures too!) I'm currently not working and can dedicate my time to pet/house sitting and care. As you can see from my photo gallery, I love all animals and have volunteered at a dog rescue in Thailand, fostered kittens at home, and have seen very cool animals in the wild and at animal rescues/sanctuaries around the world. (I always vet them to make sure they are ethical and doing legit work) I have a large fenced yard and indoor space for cats or dogs. We have plenty of shade and are also willing to take pets with us on outings. I live with my husband and son and they also love and respect animals. As far as caring for pets at someone else's home, I can stay at your house or check in as often as needed. I will play with them, feed them, bathe them, take them places (if requested) and give them love. I know they miss their people and its not the same without you, but I do my best to make them feel safe and comfortable.

“Majesty was extremely responsive and a great resource for an admittedly last minute request for a pop in to let our dogs out while we were at a Christmas party. I felt that our house instructions were read and acknowledged thoroughly, and majesty was communicative and reliable about showing up on time. We’ll definitely hire majesty again.”

“Carly was an excellent communicator. She took lots of photos of the pets and wrote up a detailed account of her visit. She asked good questions at our meet and greet which gave me confidence in that she knows what she is doing.”

“I highly recommend Amy. She is a good buddy to my cat Teri who likes to be brushed while he eats. In good weather she takes him outside, and he enjoys cuddling in her lap. Amy is the best!”

About: I love animals! I have been around them forever, and in school studying to become a Veterinary Technician :) I am always open for play dates! I work Monday-Friday at Sammie’s Friends, but am available after 5pm for short dog/cat sitting. I am available weekends so any trips you want to take I’ve got you and your furry companion covered. I am very attentive and will make sure your pet is cared for and safe. Whether they are high energy and need more play time, or animals who just need some extra TLC.

“Sasha dropped in on my dog Willow a few times this week and I could not have asked for a better person to take care of her. Willow is very nervous around strangers, generally very distrustful and defensive, but she seemed to connect with Sasha from the start at the meet and greet. Sasha was so sweet and understanding with her, never pushing Willow to interact more than she wanted to. When she dropped in, Sasha took Willow outside and played with her (sent me the most adorable video!!), refilled her water, gave her some treats, and cuddled with her on the couch. Before she left on the last day she even cleaned up some of Willow's toys, which I am always terrible about doing. It was such a sweet gesture when I myself was already nervous about someone coming over, it put me right at ease. ? Sasha was very communicative and went above and beyond dropping in on Willow and I couldn't be more grateful. I will definitely contact her again for future drop ins when I need them!”

“Barbara took wonderful care of our cat. She was communicative, timely, and responsible. We have hesitated for years to go on vacation because we never felt confident about having anyone come to our home, but now that we’ve found Barbara, we are already booking our next vacation. Barbara is warm and friendly and clearly loves animals. She stayed in touch with us and provided updates and photos. We’re overjoyed to have found a trustworthy person to care for our cat. Highly recommended!”

About: One way to live a happy life is to surround yourself with things you love, for me that includes animals. I think they sense that about me and it puts them at ease. I have many years of experience with large and small animals including horses, donkeys. goats, dogs and cats. From babies to old-timers I look forward to meeting new animals and including them in my friend group :) I live on a farm so animals are a big part of my day, if I need to go take care of an animal somewhere, I work it into my schedule. Our cats are indoor/outdoor and our dogs are allowed in the house but not on the furniture. When going to a pet's home I use caution when entering or leaving the home and will follow pet-owners protocol for feeding. I will be a friend for the animal while I am there.

“I thought I spoiled my fur babies rotten but Mel out did me. She kept me informed how the kids were doing. I got daily updates including pictures and short videos. This was such a relief as I have had issues with pet sitters in the past. When we returned from our trip, the kids were relaxed and happy. I do believe they were looking for Mel. She is truly the cat whisperer.”

About: I have owned and cared for pets my entire life. I'm recently retired from a long career as a professional equestrian and horse trainer, and I'm excited to begin this journey of offering pet care services to the community! I have experience with all types and ages of pets ... from very young to very senior. I have experience administering medications, giving injections, and basic first aid. My lifestyle is active, and I'm happy to provide whatever exercise that your pet needs, whether that is a long trail hike, or simply walks around the neighborhood. And lots of love and snuggles of course :) I also have extensive horse experience, and limited experience with other livestock, and I'm happy to provide services for those animals as well. I currently work from home and have an extremely flexible schedule, which allows me to work around whatever your pet care needs are. I have a reliable 4 wheel drive vehicle, so I can get to some of the further out Nevada County destinations no problem. I pride myself on being punctual, organized and reliable, and you can rest assured that your pet(s) and home will receive attentive and loving care. I am happy to take care of any additional tasks that you might need around your home while you're away (checking mail, taking out trash, watering plants/garden, etc. )

About: Starting at the age of 12, I began volunteering at local animal shelters (Truckee Humane Society) as well as dog sitting for local Tahoe families. I am a huge advocate for taking time out of the day to get your pet exercise whether that be a leashed walk on a paved trail or an 8 mile hike into the wilderness. I work full time however, I am able to bring well trained social dogs to work. If you prefer for me to not take your dog to work, I live 10 minutes from my home so it is very convenient for me to let your dog out multiple times throughout the day! I love to take pictures of the adventures I bring pets on and keep the owner/owners updated. My friends would definitely describe me as a HUGE animal lover! I have references upon request.

About: Ever since I learned to talk, I asked my parents for a dog. Over the years that turned into one, two, and now three dogs. I have also had cats over the years as well as chickens, goats, a horse, and donkey. No matter what kind of animal, I have always had a deep connection and love for the furry four-legged beings in my life. Because of this, neighbors, friends, and acquaintances have depended on me to pet sit, train, walk, feed, and groom their pets. I can easily play with your pet wherever you and your pet feel most comfortable whether that is in the home, yard, or out on walks. I consider myself a responsible and trustworthy person and will always prioritize the needs of you and your pet. I also love sending picture updates of the pets when I’m with them because a) they are so cute and b) you can feel confident they are in good hands.

About: I’ve taken care of all different kind of dogs and cats, I grew up around animals and I am truly an animal lover at heart. I’m currently working part time in the Palo Alto area and living in the San Jose area, my schedule is flexible and can be worked around your dog needs. Each experience is unique and catered to a specific dogs needs. Spacious living arrangements with room to cuddle, play and live. As well as space outside to run, play and walk. About: Offering a safe home away from home, compassionate care, and peace of mind for pet owners is something that all pet sitters should be offering. I go far beyond this standard providing both care and training. Since I was a child, dogs and cats have gravitated toward me and I've always enjoyed their companionship; you can almost always find me with at least one dogs around. It's never been an unruly mass of teeth and paws though; I've always taken the time to teach my furry friends to walk on leash, to have immediate recall, to be polite in kitchen, and to use their voices kindly. I do the same with every animal that I am given care of, gently coaching them to be civil, furry companions while showering them with love. I am currently working from home and set my own schedule. I have a set daily morning and evening walk which your pup(s) will join. During the day, you pup(s) will have company of two dogs, three cats and plenty of pets from me. On weekends we go on adventure hikes. I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company during the day. I have crates, leashes, grooming tools and home made dog beds for all pet care needs.

About: I have experience caring for dogs aging from 8 weeks to 15 years. I had 4 dogs of my own, I now have 2. Experience includes: potty training, positive reinforcement, disciplining unwanted behavior with vocal tones and hand gestures, playing/exercise, cuddling/affection, feeding, giving medicine, etc. My schedule is mostly flexible right now so I am available to do any day of the week and can work in the early afternoons to late afternoons. I have a fenced yard and two adult males that are mostly friendly. One is 3 and is high energy and loves to wrestle and play while the other is older and more relaxed.

About: I grew up around dogs of all sizes and breeds, and have always, always loved dogs! I volunteered at the SPCA for 2 years: walking and caring for dogs in the adoption centers. I work at home, so I have ultimate flexibility during work weeks and weekends. I am happy to take dogs on as many walks/runs/breaks as needed. I am in good shape, and I can handle larger and more energetic breeds. My neighborhood is dog-friendly with plenty of streets and dirt trails to the lake to walk or run on. Dogs are of course allowed inside and can hang out with me all day. I have experience working with dogs with medical conditions and disabilities. Our house is currently dog-free so I have extra time to give your dog(s) extra love.

Natalie S.
“Natalie is a natural dog lover. She indiscriminately cares for all pooches, regardless of their size or breed. She is firm with them when needed, but spoils them with tons of love and treats, almost as if you're at your grandparent's house as a child. Natalie has a large house with plenty of land to let the dogs run around on. She is great about taking dogs to the lake or on a hike. From first meeting Natalie, you can tell she is a natural dog person with tons of love to give.”

Rachel F.
“Rachel is great with animals of all kinds, and she has a special touch with dogs. She is kind, trustworthy, and reliable, and very loving with dogs. She had an innate sense of how to work with our dog and teach him the important basic commands. I trust her and would highly recommend her.”

Serafima K.
“Serafima has a way with dogs, and has watched my dog Walt on several occasion's. Walt is a rescue and has extremely bad separation anxiety. Initially, Serafima and her dog stayed in my home while I was away to help Walt feel more at ease on my first time away from him. Walt was well cared for this time, and every other time Serafima has watched him. Walt grew up in isolation and was never really socialized. So, to see his excitement to see Serafima and her dog when we ran into them in town was a testament to the level of care Serafima provides. I'd highly recommend Serafima to anyone looking for someone to watch their best friend!”

Gabi M.
“Gabi is a dog whisperer. She predicted my German shepherds pregnancy! She always knows exactly what my dog needs. Gabi is an A+ dog caregiver!”

Ana P.
“There are endless reasons Ana would be an amazing pet sitter. She volunteered at the SPCA where she willingly and happily gave here time to many orphaned dogs. There she learned how to work with a large variety of dog breeds. She and her family were loving owners of a red heeler named Nina. Nina, around the age of 4, began to have seizures and they discovered that she had epilepsy. Over the next few years of Nina's life Ana learned about the special needs that can be necessary to care for an animal with a serious chronic condition. She loves all animals and always seems to have a way with them. She is one of the kindest and most caring people I know.”
