“We were a bit apprehensive about leaving our 2-year-old Cavapoo, Ollie, with a sitter for the first time, but Sylvia put our minds at ease the moment we met her. She is incredibly caring and attentive. I loved receiving the photo updates showing Ollie happy and enjoying his stay—it meant I didn't have to worry about him at all! I can’t recommend Sylvia enough for anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Megan watched our Charlotte and kept us up-to date with her activities. She cared for Charlotte as if she was her own! This was definitely an upgrade to leaving her at a kennel. Megan is super kind and thoughtful. Our Charlotte loved her vacation so we could, stress free, enjoy ours.”

“Kate was great at communicating and keeping me updated about my kitty and my dog. She extended my their stay twice at my request. And her daughter's provided lots of love and attention.”

“Paige was great. She was available on short notice and was accommodating to a weird drop-off time due to bad weather. She was attentive to my animals needs and it was obvious my pup had a great time with her. She sent tons of pictures and videos and gave comprehensive daily updates. I would absolutely recommend this sitter and will be using her again in the future.”

“Carlie was outstanding. We had some blips in our plans and she was extremely accommodating. Her communication was great and it was apparent she cared for our pup. We would highly recommend her.”

“We immediately fell in love with Susan and Bob. We are new to the area and met them ahead of our first booking. They are warm and communicative and we knew our two doggies would be in good hands. We had an excellent experience and when we picked up, our dogs didn’t even want to come home! Thanks for a good experience-we will be back!”

“Bob was fantastic and his location is very convenient if you're staying in OC and can't bring your pup to your hotel. He sent lots of videos and photos throughout our stay, which we really appreciated, and he even gave our dog Lila some special gifts and treats. He was extremely responsive, caring, and accommodating. We'd book with him again if we're back in the area.”

“10/10 recommend booking Yinali to care for your dog! She was such a joy to work with, from our initial communication on Rover, to the meet-and-greet, to all the thoughtful updates while our dog was staying with her and her husband. Our dog has special needs and uses a wheelchair, which can understandably make some sitters hesitant (and makes it hard for us to find him trustworthy care), but Yinali was incredibly accommodating and attentive to his needs. I knew right away that he was in great hands, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We would 100% book with Yinali again!”

“Cory was friendly and knew a lot about puppies. We were very comfortable leaving our six month old Finnegan with him. He has a big yard and a fenced in deck. I would bring Finnegan the next time I’m in the area.”

“Jess and her entire family were amazing! We had a great experience boarding our cocker spaniel with them. They treated our puppy like one of their own. He had a great time with the kids. Jess was communicative and accommodating and we truly appreciated them taking care of Orion.”

“Cori was very flexible and courteous in accommodating a last minute request. Communication was easy and she sent lots of pictures and videos. Our dog was very happy and well taken care of!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and my family currently has four, so I’ve had lots of hands-on experience caring for them over the years. I understand that every dog has their own personality and routine, and I’ll always follow your instructions carefully and treat your pet with the same care I give my family’s dogs. I’m a college student with a flexible schedule, and I’m happy to make time for pet care around my classes and other commitments. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention. I’ll always communicate clearly about my availability and make sure your pet gets the care and time they need. I will always treat your pet and home with care and respect. I’m comfortable following specific feeding, walking, crate, and daily routine instructions, and I’ll make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure at all times. I’ll give your pet plenty of attention and can also send updates and photos so you know they’re safe and happy while you’re away.
“So grateful that he was not only able to take care of my dog Ruby but also my bunny baskoota and the way she was hopping around her cage and eating her hay when I saw her showed that she was living her life. Ruby was so happy being with them and enjoyed her time there. Definitely going to rebook if we go back again to ocean city. Thank you so much!”

“Nichole took care of our Senior yet active dog for a night and whole day! Nichole updated us all the time and sent pictures on how our baby was doing. Will recommend her and definitely will book her again in the future!”

“This was our first time ever using Rover as we just acquired a rescue puppy. Jodi was the perfect match for our fur baby. She understood his need for walks and his “zoomies” (periods of over excitement). I could not have picked a better sitter. During our absence she sent us pictures and updates which made us feel near him. I cannot say enough great things but rest assured she will always be our go to person for Maverick.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Wooded Acres home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Wooded Acres.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Wooded Acres sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in DE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
