“Staying with Kelly and her family was perfect for Eva. She and Kelly’s dog, Charlie had a great time together. Just as I had hoped, she was totally wiped out from all the running and playing.”

“Dory’s first stay with Micki went very well and Dory had a great time. We’re very pleased with the care that Micki provided and have booked Dory’s next stay with Micki. As pet parents, we are very comfortable leaving Dory with Micki and know that she will be safe, loved, and well cared for.”

“I cant say enough good things about the care, love and attention they bestowed upon our Mia. She was happy, and most definitely spoiled. Previously when we leave her she doesn't eat for days. Paige and Cameron made her feel comfortable and safe, she eat every day. We received consistent updates. Highly recommend and we are re-booking again.”

“Leaving our dog, Mazie with Sandee gives us total peace of mind. She is incredibly reliable and communicative, sending us multiple updates and photos daily. It is comforting to see how happy and relaxed Mazie is in her care. We always return to a happy, healthy dog and feel completely confident that everything is taken care of. We're very grateful that we have found her and highly recommend her to anyone who needs a trustworthy and experienced sitter.”

Fabulous references to attest to my quality care. Contact me for a free consult. I look forward to adding you to the Animal Lovers family! I accept dogs that are friendly to all dogs and humans. No aggressive behaviors. I also can only accept potty trained dogs. I can administer medications and only work outside the home part-time so can easily provide potty breaks and walks every 4 hours. My dog Benny is very friendly and loves doggie company! I am available for daily dog walking Monday thru Friday and petsitting 7 days per week. I am available for boarding as schedule permits as I only take 1 dog, dog family, at a time. I have a home in Milton with a 6 foot privacy fence. I have 1 pup, a Yorkie poo who is used to welcoming fun pup friends. I am never out of my home more than 4 hours when I have pup boarders. Your pup(s) is my priority and treated like a member of my family.
“Susan and Bob took amazing care of my dog, Ziggy, while I was away. They treated him like part of their family and made sure he was happy, comfortable, and well-loved. I really appreciated their updates and the peace of mind they gave me. It’s clear they truly care about the dogs they watch. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy and caring sitters!”

“Our dog Kaya was completely comfortable with Kelly from the start at our meet and greet. When the day came for Kaya to go to Kelly's she so was excited to be there she didn't care at all when I left. And that made me so at ease with her being there, not one worry at all.”

“This was first time I left my pup with a Rover sitter; my experience could not have been better. Denise and her beautiful family took great care of her and sent me updates and photos to reassure me that all was well. I swear GracieBell was smiling in everyone!”

“Lauren did an excellent job taking care of Tuco. I really appreciated the multiple updates with videos and photos. Lauren and her husband could not have been nicer. Tuco is looking forward to his next sleepover!”

“Debbie (and Tim) were so welcoming to our Jackson during a family beach trip. We were in need of sitting and boarding for a week and were lucky to have found them. They were easy to communicate and coordinate with for drop-off and pick-up. We even got a great tip from them to visit a local preserve with walking trails for Jackson (and kayaking on the Bay for our kids). Most importantly, Jackson had a great time with both of them. He didn't even want to leave 😂! Thanks for making his stay so wonderful and look forward to coming back on a future trip!”

“Lamar and his family are absolutely amazing! We found out at the last minute that our Airbnb didn’t allow pets, and I was devastated trying to find someone I could trust to care for my little guy. From the moment we met Lamar, he made us feel so welcome and immediately put my mind at ease. Throughout Gus’s stay, he sent us photos and updates, which meant so much and reassured us that he was happy, safe, and well cared for. It’s clear that Lamar is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely loves animals. I am so grateful we found him, especially on such short notice. I highly recommend Lamar to anyone looking for exceptional pet-sitting services. We will absolutely choose him again whenever we’re back in Ocean City. I only wish he lived closer to us!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hardscrabble home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Hardscrabble.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Hardscrabble sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in DE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
